Punjab University Announces Admissions 2021

The Punjab University has announced the admissions 2021 and the candidates can take admission in the offered degree programs after meeting the admission criteria announced by the university. PU is known as of the largest educational institutes that offer admission to candidates in a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs. Every year many students get enrolled in these degree programs. The candidates can get the details regarding the BBA admissions 2021 and BSCS admission 2021 and admission details of other programs from this platform. 

Submission Of Online Admission Form

• The candidates have to apply online by submitting the admission form. In the form, the candidates are required to mention the Personal Information (For Biographical Details), Educational Information (For Academic Qualification Details), and Experiences / Publications (For Working Experience & Publication Details)
• The candidates have to submit the admission form after depositing the admission fee in the mentioned bank branches.
• The candidates are required to enter all the details carefully as after the submission the candidates will not be able to change the entered information. 
• The candidates have to select the desired admission program from Offered Programs list one by one.
• The fee challan must be generated and submitted separately for each program application and it can be deposited in any branch of HBL or UBL bank.
• The candidates who have exceeded the mentioned age limit for the offered degree programs must apply for Age Relaxation and Session Gap simultaneously along with the submission of the online Admission Form so that they might obtain the certificate within time after due process.
• The candidates should submit an application duly referred by the Head of the Department along with all the required documents for admissions addressing to the Registrar, University of the Punjab, Lahore Certificate of Age Relaxation and Session.
• While filling the admission form, the candidates can move to Previous Tabs (Steps) by clicking on the desired tab in case they want to Change/Update/View any information but before the Final Submission of admission form.
• The admission from Foreign applicants must be routed through his/her home country's embassy and Pakistan mission abroad office. The admission form should reach the "Office of Chairman Admission Committee, Centre for Undergraduate Studies, PU, Lahore." before the last date of fall admissions 2021.

Admission Guidelines

• The candidates have to apply separately on the morning, evening, replica, self-supporting, and reserved quota seats for each degree program. No application submitted once in a category will be considered for any other category/discipline.
• An incomplete application form in any respect will not be considered by the university and those who have not deposited the fee.
• No application will be received in the central Admission office or any Department/Centre/Institute/College by hand or by post/courier. After the closing date of online admission, no online facility will be available for the candidates in any case.
• No call letter/phone call to the candidates will be made separately for the selection of students. Applicants are advised to visit Punjab University/Departmental official website to learn about the announced merit lists.
• All University Rules and Regulations will be applicable and subject to change owing to the current policy of COVID-19 Crisis announced by the Government.

Instructions For Candidates

If any candidate is found to get enriched by making any miss-statement in the Admission Forms or by willful concealment of any material fact, (particularly about marks, division, previous admission to the Department/Institute/Center/College or employment, expulsion, conviction, etc., and fails to fulfill the eligibility criteria, his/her admission shall stand as canceled and all fees or other dues paid by him/her shall be forfeited. The University of Punjab has the right to cancel the admission form of the candidates in case of ineligibility, false information, or missing incomplete information, a document without any intimation.

Punjab University opens its admissions twice a year. Spring Admissions and Fall Admission. PU’s fall admissions are going to start for different undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate programs. Every year not only students from Pakistan but a large number of international students apply to Punjab University because of its quality education and value of its degree but only deserving and capable students get admission because PU is a merit university. PU’s research centers are funded on a large scale and the university facilitates students in every possible way. Punjab University not only conducts education but prepares students for bigger markets.

Established on October 14, 1882, Punjab University is the oldest University in Pakistan and it is also the largest university of Pakistan by area and number of students. According to HEC’s overall ranking, Punjab Unversity is at #2. Punjab University is ranked among #801-1000 universities according to QS World University Ranking while in Asia it is ranked at #195. In Times Higher Education World University Ranking its world ranking is among 1000 universities while in Asia it is ranked at #251-300.

Punjab University is a public sector university with 5 campuses, 13 Faculties, 10 Constituent Colleges, 73 Departments, 658 Affiliated Colleges, 1006 Full-Time and & 300 Part-Time Faculty Members and 45,600+ On-Campus Students. Its Quaid-e-Azam campus is stretched over 1800 Acres. Punjab University is the 4th university that was founded by British colonial authorities.

Fee Structure

Punjab University’s fee is pretty much affordable. PU’s fee is much lesser than any good university in Pakistan. Following is the fee structure of PU Admissions 2021 for different programs

Eligibility Criteria for PU Admissions 2021 is mentioned below

• Maximum 24 age for BS programs. Candidates above 24 years cannot aooly for any 4 yers BS program.
• Applicant’s age must not be more than 26 years, for MA/MSc or equivalent programs (no age limit for evening programs)
• Minimum 45% marks in intermediate (for undergraduate programs)
• Minumim 2nd decision ( for MA/MSc or equivalent programs)

Start and Last Date

For ms, mphil, msc (engg/hons) and ph.d. programs.

For MS, MPhil, MSc (Engg/Hons), and Ph.D. programs the admission details for Punjab University Admissions 2021 are below.

• Opening date for online form submission:   10th September .
• Opening date for online form submission:   5th October .

For Undergraduate Programs

Punjab University always opens its undergraduate admissions after the Intermediate result but because of COVID-19 Intermediate examinations are delayed from its schedule. Punjab University Admissions 2021 for undergraduate programs are expected to be announced in the mid of August and the start of September.

Documents Required

Following documents will be required for PU Admissions 2021

• Attested photocopies of academic certificates
• Attested copy of National Identity Card
• Attested copy of Domicile
• Moral Certificate from Head of Institution last attended
• DMC of the last examination passed
• Hifz-e-Quran Certificate (if applicable)
• 3 passport size photographs

Entry test is not required to get admission in undergraduate programs. However, for engineering programs, an entry test is a must. GAT or GRE is also mandatory for admission into a Ph.D. program, interview will also be taken. For LLB entry test is compulsory. The entry test date will be announced soon on the official website of Punjab University.

How to Apply

Follow these steps to apply at PU Admissions 2021

• Go to the Online Admission Portal of University of the Punjab http://admissions.pu.edu.pk
• Sign up as new applicant
• Fill the form carefully
• Generate challan form
• Deposit the fee in any branch of HBL or UBL bank.
• After submission of challan fee in the bank, click Generate Application link (after login) and enter the fee information.
• Click Finalize/Generate Application button.
• A confirmation email will also be sent at your email address about submission of application.

Note: Similarly, apply for other programs and submit their challan fee separately in the bank (Rs. 500/- for each online application for each program). Please note that the Generation Application step is mandatory.

Is punjab university providing co-education.

Punjab Universities is trying everything to make its standard international. Punjab University is a co-education university but the environment is safe for students to grow freely and positively.

Is violence common in Punjab University?

As I said before that control of Jamiat is no more therefore violence is no more but there are huge fights if someone tries to attempt ragging or disrespect any girl. Punjab University takes action against these kinds of misbehavior immediately.

Is ragging allowed in Punjab University?

Ragging is strictly prohibited in any department. If any student is caught in this kind of activity, their degree can be canceled without any warning. Recently Punjab University canceled the degrees of 12 students because of misbehavior.

Does Punjab University offer scholarships?

Even the fee structure of Punjab University is pretty much affordable but still, it offers different scholarships to aid the students’ financial condition. Ehsaas scholarship for BS programs is very famous. Moreover, HEC need-based scholarships are also provided. The students can apply for these scholarships after securing admission to the university.

Does Punjab University provide a hostel facility?

Yes, Punjab University provides hostel facilities. There are many hostels for both girls and boys on the new campus (Quaid-e-Azam Campus). The hostel charges are affordable and provide every facility to facilitate students.

Can residents of Lahore apply for a hostel at Punjab University, Lahore?

No, the students living in Lahore cannot apply for a hostel. The only reason is that Punjab University takes students from all over the world and any students from other cities and other countries get admission to PU . Because of this massive level of outsiders, PU cannot accommodate the city’s own residents.

Who are Day-Scholars?

The students who do not live in a hostel and are the resident of the same city as a campus are called day-scholars.

Is there any hostel facility on the old campus?

No, there are not any hostels on the old campus. All hostels are on the new campus. The students of old-campus ge5t accommodation in the new campus. But they don’t have to worry about transportation from new to old campuses because PU provides shuttle service from new campus to old campus too.

Is there any transportation facility at PU?

Punjab University has its own buses and provides shuttle service to students from all over the city. Transportation charges are included in challan form therefore students do not have to pay for it separately.

Does the Gujranwala campus of PU provide hostel and transportation services?

No, the Gujranwala campus does not provide hostel and transportation services.

• Note down your Login Id and Password (login details will be sent to your registered Email Id also).
• Login to your account to pay fee online . [last date for submission of fee: April 27, 2024 (Saturday)] .
• After successful payment, complete your form . Upload scanned passport size photograph, signature, fill other important information and Save and Confirm. ( Once you confirm the form, you will not be allowed to change information in the form ). [last date for completion of registration form: April 29, 2024 (Monday)]
• For paying through fee challan Login again after 24 Hrs. of depositing fee and upload scanned passport size photograph, signature, fill other important information and Save and Confirm. ( Once you confirm the form, you will not be allowed to change information in the form ). [last date for completion of form: April 29, 2024 (Monday)]
• Download your Admit Card after May 08, 2024 (Wednesday). (Bring one photo identity proof like Driving License, Voter Card, Aadhaar Card, Passport etc. at the Examination centre failing which the candidate will not be allowed to enter in the Examination Hall.)
• Fee of Entrance Test is non-refundable and non-transferable.
• If more than 24 Hrs. have passed after printing the fee challan and your details are not found in bank for depositing fee, write to [email protected] mentioning your problem along with application no., name and date of birth .
• Online Form once submitted, the candidate shall not be allowed to make any change in it by way of any addition/deletion/alteration/amendment/change under any circumstances.
• Mere login id creation OR deposit of fee does not mean that candidate has completed his/her online form. Incomplete form leads to cancellation of candidature. Any request for completion of form after due date will not be entertained at all.
• Candidates who will avail the concession in fee under the category SC/ST/PwD OR P.U. Class B/C Regular Employee must send the copy of printout of their filled form along with the self attested copy of Category Certificate / Proforma for claiming 50% concession to P.U. Regular Employees ("B" and "C" Class) duly signed by Head/Chairperson, to Assistant Registrar, CET Cell, Aruna Ranjit Chandra Hall, Panjab University, Chandigarh-160014 by registered post/speed post or by hand on or before May 03, 2024 upto 4:00 p.m..

Pu researcher finds 3.3m years old rare elephant tusk.

Punjab University Department of Zoology's PhD student Ghayyour Abbas has made a marvelous discovery of a rare 3.3 million-year-old elephant tusk fossil from the Village Tatrot in Sohawa Tehsil of District Jhelum. The tusk fossil perhaps belongs to the extinct Anancus genus of elephants, who roamed in the primitive forest habitat of Jhelum some 3.5 million years ago and measures approximately 6 feet. Siwalik Mountain geological formation range in Jhelum,Chakwal and Miawali districts is famous for rare elephant fossils as the geological range is regarded as the paradise of elephant fossils all over the world.

PU Archaeology Department discovered 2000 years old Unique evidences of Buddhist Narrative Art in Terracotta from Punjab

Punjab University Research Team under the patronage of Dr. Muhammad Hameed, Chairman Department of Archeology, University of the Punjab, discovered unique evidence of Buddhist Narrative Art in Terracotta from the old River bed of Jhelum between Sargodha and Jhang in the field work carried out in 2023. The 2000-years old artefacts belong to Buddhist civilization which also developed in Punjab. During the field work innumerable evidences of ancient settlements in form of cultural mounds were recorded. It was also confirmed that the followers of Buddhism were inhabitants of this area and they established their religious buildings, stupas and monasteries. This great achievement / efforts of Punjab University research team altered the religious and cultural history of the Punjab which has taken a new dimension clearly indicate that the followers of Buddhism established their center of worship in Punjab and adopted a unique method for dissemination and preaching of their religio, which is being named as, "Buddhist Narrative Art in Terracotta from Punjab".
