Safety is the most important measure to take in our lives for any kind of emergency. We are often told about safety first. Safety means protection. We always try to avoid dangers or stay away from any harm. We work very carefully so that we do not get harmed by any problem.

Danger can come at any moment and any place. We are unaware as to when it will attack us. So having safety is our first and foremost priority. Whenever we are at home or outside, we must remember about it. We must never hurry into anything because that can cause us lots of risks. Also, we must keep a safety kit or a first aid box handy. This will help us to tackle any emergency when needed.

Short Essay on Safety First in 200 Words

Safety means any kind of protection that we observe regularly. And safety first also means making safety our biggest priority. Maintaining safety is extremely important to us. It will keep our family and society safe and sound.

The country must have responsible citizens who can maintain safety. So being safe is for the good of everyone. We must always maintain safety measures. Be it in our home or outside, it will help us to live much better. Today we observe how difficult it is to walk peacefully on the roads. It is because people do not follow safety measures.

Some bike riders drive very rashly. They do not care about the pedestrians or people walking on the road. Often it creates accidents. These accidents are fatal and can kill them as well. The drivers do not consider driving safely and slowly. They drive the car or the bus at full speed. As a result, many people daily meet accidents on the roads.

Even animals are not free of these dangers. Little kids and aged people feel scared to go alone on the roads. Even in our homes, we forget to follow safety measures. So we face several problems and are hurt severely. The dangers can become serious if we ignore our safety. So safety first is our greatest duty to everyone in our country.

Short Essay on Safety First in 400 Words

Safety means protection from any sort of danger. The term safety first is, at present, a frequently used term. Safety is something that we prioritize first. Whenever there is danger, we must take an immediate measure of safety to survive the situation. Thus keeping safety as our biggest priority is the best task to do in our lives. We will stay prepared for any hazards that may arrive on our way.

Unfortunately, people nowadays do not consider safety as the primary need. As a result, we often face severe disasters. The biggest danger takes place outside our homes when we are on the road. The bike riders dive their bikes at high speed. They drive rashly over the roads and highways. Hence it becomes very difficult for the aged and the pedestrians to walk on the roads.

Anytime they can meet an accident, and can also die on spot. Similarly, for other vehicles like a bus or a car, we observe the same picture. The buses collide with other trucks and cars while breaking the traffic rules. It is a bad habit to violate the traffic rules and traffic signals for personal benefits. Maintaining safety on roads is for the benefit of everyone. We must follow the signals and use a zebra crossing while moving to a different route. Walking in between vehicles in a hurry or jumping down a bus while it’s moving can cause serious harm.

Even on rail lines, we must be cautious. It is always advisable never to cross a rail line while a train is approaching. Similarly, standing near the door while the train is running at full speed can cause tremendous destruction. Some people often take selfies while standing on railways and even use them as fun places. However, it is stupid to take such things lightly. Everyone should remember the safety that can help them to live better.

Safety first applies to our household as well. If there is a little child or an aged person in the house, then these safety measures become very important. One must keep away all sharp objects, fire, oil, and other poisonous goods from their reach. Burners and cylinders should be switched off to avoid any danger. The doors should be closed so that babies cannot crawl outside the house.

Also, basic hygiene is a part of safety. Keeping the house clean will make it safe. Keeping a first aid box and some emergency medicines will protect us from any immediate need. Hence these basic yet important tips can enable us to live better.

safety in daily life essay

Life is valuable. Which is why as humans, we do everything to protect it and keep our lives safe against any untoward incidents or accidents that may lead to injury or even death. The importance of safety in all aspects of our lives is quite obvious. There are a lot of reasons why and here are some.

To avoid accidents. Most of the time accidents happen due to recklessness and irresponsibility. People who don’t follow the safety precautions always end up getting injured or worse, getting killed. Whether it’s inside the house or in the workplace, exercising safety precautions is a must.

To stay healthy. Eating the right kind of food and doing exercise is also another safety measure. It keeps your body in shape and keeps you safe from unwanted sickness. Having a healthy body is a blessing. Not only does it save you from harmful diseases, but it also saves you from spending too much on medicines and hospital bills.

To live a long life. Responsible people are those who take care of themselves and of others because of the people who love them. It’s not easy to lose a loved one, a friend or a family member. If you want to live a long life together with all the people you love, live your life safely.

Promoting safety everywhere teaches public awareness and discipline. People who work with jobs which involve dangers are always briefed and are required to wear safety gears. Examples of these are cooks, engineers, carpenters, policemen, fire fighter, and chemists etc. This can also be adapted inside the house, school or workplace and even in the streets where there are a lot of people driving cars because accidents can happen anytime, anywhere.

To prevent unexpected dilemmas from rising. Planning is another essential part of being safe. A lot of times, accidents or troubles can be prevented with careful planning, organization and implementation.

In conclusion, you may say that life isn’t predictable. That no matter how hard you try to protect yourself, sometimes accidents just happen or you may say that life is worth the risk but for me it’s never worth your life or the lives of others. If you can prevent it then do it. There’s no harm in keeping oneself safe.

Safety First Essay Example 3

Safety is an essential aspect of any workplace, and it should always be a top priority. Companies that prioritize safety have a better chance of preventing accidents and injuries among their employees. It is essential to implement safety measures, conduct regular inspections, and provide training to ensure that the workplace is safe for everyone. This essay will discuss three essential steps that employers can take to ensure safety in the workplace.

The first step to ensuring safety in the workplace is implementing safety measures such as wearing protective gear and following safety protocols. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is essential in reducing the risk of injuries and accidents. Employers must provide their employees with the necessary PPE, such as hard hats, safety goggles, gloves, and safety boots. Employees should be trained on how to use the PPE correctly and be required to wear it at all times when working in hazardous environments. Safety protocols such as locking out machinery before maintenance and repair work can also help prevent workplace accidents.

The second step to ensuring safety in the workplace is conducting regular safety inspections and maintaining equipment and machinery. Regular inspections help identify potential hazards and ensure that equipment and machinery are functioning correctly. Employees should be trained on how to conduct safety inspections and report any issues that they identify immediately. Equipment and machinery should also be well-maintained to prevent breakdowns and accidents. Regular maintenance can help identify potential problems before they occur and ensure that equipment and machinery are functioning correctly.

The third step to ensuring safety in the workplace is educating employees and providing training on safety procedures. Educating employees on safety procedures can increase awareness and promote a culture of safety in the workplace. Employees should be trained on how to identify hazards, how to respond to emergencies, and how to use safety equipment correctly. Training should be provided regularly, and employees should be required to attend. Providing incentives for employees who prioritize safety can also help create a culture of safety in the workplace.

In conclusion, ensuring safety in the workplace is essential for the well-being of employees and the success of companies. Employers must prioritize safety by implementing safety measures, conducting regular inspections, and providing training to their employees. By taking these steps, companies can reduce the risk of accidents and injuries and create a safer workplace for everyone.

Live Safely

36 Ways To Improve Personal Safety

Kevin Hellman

When you get right down to it, your personal safety comes down to mindset. Awareness and avoidance should be at the forefront of your mind whenever you are in potentially dangerous situations, or even home with your family. Looking for weak spots in your home security or potential threats when out for a night on the town is all about preparedness.

The following is a list of some basic and very simple ideas to implement and hopefully get your creativity flowing into thinking of ways to live safely. It is the 20% of effort of prevention needed by you to achieve 80% of improved personal security:

36 Ways to Personal Security

  • Limit the amount of duplicates and access of your keys and keypad passwords.
  • Never ever hide keys outside. If you absolutely have to, don't hide them all in the same place.
  • always have multiple locks.
  • Get into the habit of keeping windows and doors locked, even in the summer months.
  • Consider installing double cylinder locks and deadbolts.
  • Install extra locks on windows and doors.
  • Be careful not to let shrubs and bushes around the house offer a potential burglar cover keep them trimmed at a conservative height and width.
  • Never throw personal mail in the garbage shred or burn it instead!
  • Enter into a safe watch agreement with the neighbors to keep an eye on each other.
  • Never list your telephone number.
  • Be especially vigilant of people who try to gain access to your home who might be posing as utility company personnel. This is a favorite tactic used against seniors. Check their identification through your door peephole viewer.
  • Always keep pen and paper handy, or even a digital camera to record any suspicious activity, and try to get license numbers, etc.
  • Record all of your home electronics equipment with serial number engraving kits, and also make a video recording of your possessions and hide it in an inconspicuous place, after labelling it something innocuous and totally uninviting like "Aunt Hilda's Wedding, 1979".
  • Never cooperate with telephone surveys or telemarketers. You have nothing to gain from this, plus, your time is far too valuable!
  • Never fall for a stranger asking for help if you are alone, or are not around witnesses.
  • Keep a mental picture of the area around the perimeter of your home and the items in it. Have they been moved? Could they have been moved into *that place* or *that position* by you or a member of your family?
  • Get to know the traffic patterns in your neighborhood and the vehicles that normally are around.
  • Vary your route when coming to and going home. Try to take different routes to and from work and try to vary your routine a bit. Remember, most breakins occur during daylight hours, or when thieves are most sure that you will not be home. Assume that they "cased" (staked out) your home.
  • Keep an eye out for someone following you, Without sounding alarmist, if you are a single female traveling alone and suspect you are being followed, make a series of turns, and if the car is still behind you in a way that defies logic, then bolt to the nearest police station. Also, try to think of potential "safe havens" on your way to and from on your daily routes.
  • If you are accosted or physically threatened, always yell "FIRE" and never "HELP". Not that I have a totally dim view of humanity, but I bet more people will respond to the former as it includes their own self interest.
  • Park as close to the store as possible, and never in dark areas.
  • Don't let yourself run below a half a tank of gas, you might need to do some driving you haven't planned on due to some unforeseen emergency like a medical situation, etc.
  • Never open suspicious mail.
  • Build a safe room in your home, or, if you live in an apartment, plan an escape route to a friend's house or somewhere safe.
  • Create or join a neighborhood watch program.
  • Maintain good lighting around all areas of your home: garden, garage, etc. If you live in an apartment building, make sure that the halls, parking lots, etc are all well lit.
  • Try putting a few of your inside lights and appliances on timers. They are pretty cheap, like under ten US dollars.
  • If you go on holidays, get neighbors to check on your home, and maybe even park in your driveway. keep the place "busy" looking, full of activity and unpredictable.
  • Use a home alarm. Period.
  • Try using a security camera, or even setting up a DIY camera system.
  • Watch the level of junk mail in your mailbox this is often a signal of nobody home. Keep batteries in your flashlights working! Same goes for smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.
  • Practice fire drills with your family. And create some incentives for the kids to make it fun for them!
  • Always have a cell phone on hand.
  • Put emergency telephone numbers in your speed dial, or even better, memorize them.
  • Be wary of anything in the house that can be used as a weapon against you. Keep kitchen knives out of plain view, but somewhere where you can access them immediately if you need too.
  • Never put your name on your mailbox or a sign outside your home.

Is Safety Awareness Really That Important?

Safety awareness might seem moot in many organizations. Most people know the general safety rules that apply to any work situation, even if they’re brand new to your company. They also sit through their fair share of safety training each year and are constantly reminded of rules and procedures via the OSHA posters on the break room walls.

So, is creating additional safety awareness really all that necessary?

In a word, yes. But safety awareness goes well beyond passive posters and occasional training sessions if you want your investment to be effective.

What Is Safety Awareness?

It’s not as self-explanatory as it sounds.

When many people think of “awareness,” things like temporary campaigns and sporadic activities often spring to mind. Leaders try to shed light on a new topic, bring it to the front of others’ minds, and then move on to something else. This type of awareness may be satisfactory to some topics, but workplace safety isn’t one of them.

Safety awareness means thinking about the chance of someone getting hurt or things getting damaged before starting a task. Being constantly aware of how they’re operating at work and recognizing hazards is critical in mitigating safety-related risks.

In addition, safety awareness goes beyond the obvious hazards like machines, ergonomics , and electrical safety. The term ‘safety’ broadly covers a variety of ways a disaster or accident can occur, from physical hazards to occupational, natural, and social risks.

Things like tornadoes, hurricanes, acts of violence, traffic-related hazards, and other incidents that can occur at work shouldn’t be neglected when creating safety awareness.

In short, safety awareness goes much deeper than many employees and leaders realize, and creating ongoing awareness is a huge part of building a successful safety culture .

Why Ongoing Safety Awareness Is Important and How It Affects Your Employees

Because safety is such an important part of our daily lives, it’s important to remain aware of potential safety issues at all times and consciously act in safety’s best interest.

It’s easier said than done, of course. Daily responsibilities at work can often distract even diligent employees and decrease alertness. Employees who have been doing the same job for years are at an even higher risk because they’re less likely to consciously think about their actions. Repetitive tasks can switch on a person’s autopilot to the point they don’t need to put much thought into their work.

When this happens, safety becomes less of a daily thought until it’s brought back to the spotlight.

Without ongoing awareness, employees may begin to neglect safe practices in lieu of faster, more efficient methods. Taking a shortcut once with no negative consequences makes it easier to repeat those shortcuts and look for new ones – but safety leaders know it’s only a matter of time before those “efficiencies” result in an undesirable outcome.

How to Create Effective Safety Awareness

Increasing safety awareness in any organization doesn’t just happen by accident, nor can you achieve continuous awareness through passive engagement.

Things like safety posters and flyers may be read once or twice before they start to blend in and become business as usual.

Events like Safety Awareness Week or in-house training sessions can help to bring top of mind awareness to certain topics, but they do little to continue the conversation and keep employees engaged.

The best way to create effective safety awareness is to build safety into everything you do within your organization. Safety should be a natural part of business, not a once in a while thing that’s brought up in meetings or training sessions. When workers can approach safety as easily and as often as they do their work responsibilities, you stand a much higher chance of keeping EHS at the helm.

That’s not to say safety meetings , awareness events, and trainings aren’t effective – these things can certainly contribute to creating a stronger safety culture and shouldn’t be undervalued. But they’re not enough on their own.

500 Words Essay on Fire Safety

Introduction to fire safety.

Fire safety is a crucial concern in every environment, particularly in residential and commercial buildings. It involves practices aimed at reducing the destruction caused by fire or completely preventing fire breakouts. Understanding fire safety is paramount for everyone, as it is not only about preventing property damage, but also about ensuring the safety of lives.

The Science of Fire

Grasping the basic science of fire is necessary to understand fire safety. Fire occurs when oxygen combines with fuel in the presence of heat, creating the fire triangle. Fuel can be any combustible material, while heat can come from various sources like electrical appliances or open flames. By controlling these elements, we can significantly reduce the risk of fire.

There are several measures that can be taken to ensure fire safety. Installing fire alarms and smoke detectors is a primary step, providing early warning signals. Regular maintenance and checks of these devices are also essential to ensure their functionality. Fire extinguishers should be available and easily accessible, and individuals should be trained on how to use them.

Another key measure is the implementation of safe electrical practices. Overloading electrical outlets and using faulty electrical appliances can lead to fires. Therefore, regular inspection and maintenance of electrical systems is crucial.

Fire Safety Planning

Developing a well-thought-out fire safety plan is another critical component. This plan should include clear evacuation routes, assembly points, and procedures for contacting the fire department. Regular fire drills should be conducted to familiarize everyone with the plan and ensure its effectiveness.

The Role of Building Design

Building design can significantly influence fire safety. Buildings should be designed with fire-resistant materials and incorporate fire doors and escape routes. Fire safety considerations should be integrated into the initial design stage of a building, rather than as an afterthought.

Fire Safety Regulations

Fire safety regulations are established by local, state, and federal authorities to ensure the safety of the public. These regulations provide guidelines on fire safety equipment, building design, and safety practices. Compliance with these regulations is not just a legal requirement but a moral obligation to ensure the safety of all occupants in a building.

Fire safety is everyone’s responsibility. Understanding the science of fire, implementing safety measures, planning, and adhering to regulations are all integral to maintaining a safe environment. By investing time and resources into fire safety, we can significantly reduce the risk of fire and its devastating consequences. Therefore, it is incumbent upon us, especially as future leaders and decision-makers, to prioritize fire safety and ensure it is integrated into all aspects of our lives.

That’s it! I hope the essay helped you.

Accidents and mishaps are unforeseen circumstances that can affect individuals and groups at any time and in any place. Most accidents are preventable, but the carelessness or negligence of the involved individuals leads to major injuries and grievances. Accidents can also occur in the workplace and seriously affect the ability and health of the involved workers.

The objectives of this essay to discuss the safety and wellbeing of all workers are necessary for the organization not only for consistent productivity but also due to regulatory requirements. Workers and human resources are the necessary components of all organizations due to their role in the effective accomplishment of objectives. Corporations cannot achieve long-term success and sustainable growth in the absence of motivated, safe, healthy, and effective workers. The health and safety of all workers are necessary to ensure the enhancement of productivity and efficiency at all levels and areas. Lack of safety measures can create havoc for the organization and negatively affect the working criterion of an organization. The management has to devise and implement effective safety procedures to reduce hazards and prevent accidents in the workplace. The can motivate the employees through this perspective as employees admire working in organizations that prefer safe working conditions. Employees believe that safer working conditions enhance their ability work because they do not feel scared in troublesome situations. The management should coordinate with all the related stakeholders when they devise policies about safety at workplace, as this would enhance a positive change in an organization. Different legislations also depict that organizations should focus on these perspectives and they should attain self-sufficiency in providing workplace safety.

Corporations in the current era focus on the development of employees and they believed in the ideology of benefiting employees through different approaches. Safety at the work force is an important aspect that many organizations of today’s world disregard. Many people face mishaps and accidents in various situations especially due to negligence, recklessness, and carelessness. Many accidents and serious injuries are avoidable and preventable by taking effective safety measures and reducing hazards. For example, drivers and passengers can avoid serious injuries and death by wearing seatbelts while traveling in cars. However, many people fail to realize the importance of seatbelts and face a variety of consequences in the event of an accident. Mishaps and accidents are unforeseen occurrences that can lead to several adverse consequences in the absence of effective safety measures and precautions. Accidents, disasters, and mishaps can also occur in the workplace and affect several employees in the absence of precautions and safety procedures. Certain mediocre organizations do not regard this aspect as important and they do not focus on safety at the workplace. The owners and management of the organization need to implement rules, regulations, procedures, and systems relevant to safety and health. The management also needs to ensure that all workers have ample knowledge and information regarding safety procedures, prevention of accidents, and safe working practices.

Human resources

Human resources are one of the most important assets of the organization with respect to success and growth. The success and growth of the organization depend on the effectiveness and efficiency of the human resources. However, the inefficiencies in human resources caused by any circumstances, occurrences, and events can hinder the accomplishments of the organization. Organizations take all necessary measures to ensure the productivity of all workers and employees to maximize profits and achieve organizational objectives (Blair, 2013). The wellbeing, safety, and health of all employees are among the highest priorities of all organizations. Organizations cannot take risk for their respective employees because an occurrence of a negative event would tarnish the credibility of an organization. Safe and healthy workers are more productive as compared to injured or sick employees. Employees that cannot work in safe conditions feel suffocated because of the risks associated with their respective work. Risks and hazards associated with a specific job or organization adversely affect the morale and motivation level of employees. The unsafe or hazardous working conditions have several long-term psychological and physiological consequences for the workers and the organizations. When a negative event occurs in an organization, it sets up the mindset of an employee. Employees would feel that this event would occur again and this would create hurdles in their effective working process. Organizations need to create a safe and healthy working environment for all workers to ensure high levels of motivation and enhancement in efficiency (Stricoff & Groover, 2012).

Safety at Workplace

Workplace safety refers to the prevention of illness, injury, and hazards in the workplace for all employees. Workplace safety involves the creation of a safe and healthy environment for all workers to evade hazards, injuries, and illnesses. Organizations can ensure the efficiency of all workers and circumvent a considerable amount of costs by ensuring workplace safety and health. Organizations develop different strategies through which they set up different work place safety policies and benefit the workers through this. Workplace injuries and illnesses lead to compensation benefits, health insurance costs, hiring temporary replacements, lost work hours, and lawsuits. Lack of concentration would cost severe damage to an organization and they should sort such issues in order to attain proactive benefits. Business can save a considerable amount of costs by creating and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all workers. Safeguarding the interests and wellbeing of the employees allows organizations to circumvent costs relevant to injuries and illnesses (Legg, Laird, Olsen, & Hasle, 2014). On the other hand, workplace safety instills a sense of commitment and dedication among the employees due to the safety assurance of the organization. The morale and motivation of the workers increase due to the implementation of rules that safeguard the health and interest of the employees. Employees feel that they are safe to work in this place, and through this perspective, they would perform well.

Purpose of Workplace safety

The primary objective of safety in the workplace is to create a safe, healthy, and risk-free environment for all workers. Workplace safety involves the evaluation, analysis, prevention, and elimination of hazardous and dangerous elements from the workplace. Workplace safety programs evaluate and remove the risks and hazards relevant to the safety, well-being, and health of workers and other relevant individuals. Organizations develop health and safety standards due to several reasons including laws, regulatory requirements, organizational policies, and historical occurrences. Certain industries and their associations bind organizations to work for the benefit of their employees and they force organizations to focus on different safety related perspectives. Workplace injuries and illnesses caused by working conditions or environment can lead to lawsuits, high costs, and deterioration of the corporate image. There are instances when employees at times die because of sever working conditions. Employees might got injured because of certain safety and the lack of safety would be the only probable reason of this. Enhanced safety measures and appropriate quality of these measures can reduce this perspective to a considerable level.

Safety at the workplace enables organizations to comply with regulatory requirements and prevent high costs resulting from injuries and illnesses. Several corporations can consider the fact that these safety measures would save their health and medicinal costs that would arise when an employees would hurt him. They should take proactive measures earlier through which people can benefit from these perspectives. The management can maintain high levels of productivity and efficiency by creating a safe and healthy working environment. Conversely, the employees work with dedication due to their perceptions regarding the commitment of the organization with respect to the wellbeing of the workers.

Importance of safety at workplace

Legislative and legal requirements are the most prominent cause of health and safety policies in most organizations. The Occupational and Safety Health Act is the primary law for the assurance of health and safety of all workers throughout the United States. The Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) necessitates the dissemination of standards, rules, and regulations relevant to the safety and health of workers. The government establishes and enforces the standards for the safety and health of all workers and their families through the Act. All public and private organizations have to comply with the rules, regulations, and standards prescribed in OSHA (Jung & Makowsky, 2014). They would face legal complications if they do not comply with such policies and measures taken by the decision makers. However, many organizations develop and implement health and safety procedures to safeguard their interests relevant to organizational objectives rather than legal requirements. The financial and moral aspects of workers’ health and safety have a greater influence as compared to regulatory compliance. Corporations can save considerable costs by avoiding high insurance expenses, lawsuits, and employee replacement costs in the event of injuries and illnesses (Barling & Frone, 2003).

Manpower and Management

The primary objective of all managers is to enhance and promote productivity and efficiency in all areas and functions. However, the managers cannot uphold efficiency and effectiveness in the absence of a safe workplace. The managers need to create a safe working environment and increase the awareness and knowledge of all employees with respect to safe working practices. The employees and workers also need to understand the importance of workplace safety and reduce personal injury through attentiveness and removal of hazards. These safety hazards are negative for the effectiveness of organizations and create a long-term negative impact. The attitude of the employees, management, and employers plays a vital role in preventing accidents and creating a safe working environment. The negligence on the part of the employers and employees can cause a variety of hazards and accidents (Rahim, Ng, Biggs, & Boots, 2014). However, the diligence and commitment of all stakeholders regarding safe work practices leads to the prevention of major accidents and injuries. The employees and management can create a safe workplace through a shared responsibility model for workplace safety and cooperation. Organizations should own this perspective and they should realize the fact that it is their managerial responsibility to focus on this perspective so that employees can remain safe.

Conclusively, a safety plan is necessary and it comprises of certain steps that would develop a safer workplace. Organizations should make sure that everyone else in the workplace is aware of the core problem. People should notify their respective supervisors and they should file any reports if there is a problem. An important aspect is that people should realize that there is a problem as sitting back and holding the problem for a long time would not solve the problem.

“I get refreshed with the morning walk or a little exercise and then prepare myself for the study with utmost sincerity. It is against my principle to put off today’s work for tomorrow or to have any private tutor.”

Mili shares her simple life in this essay by describing everyday activities every student does, such as brushing her teeth and exercising. She mentions her classes and recess at 2 PM, where she and her friends eat snacks, play games, and chat. As a student, Mili has a busy six-day schedule but visits theaters after washing her uniforms on Sundays. You might also be interested in these essays about reflection .

2. Write an Essay on Your Daily Life  by Darshan Kadu

“Life is too precious to be idled away in lethargic existence and in useless ventures. My daily routine is jam-packed with actions and activities and keeps me and my mind busy all the time. The adventures of daily life make it interesting and an exciting journey.”

On school days, Kadu’s daily routine includes jogging, getting ready for school, and having breakfast with the whole family. After school and attending meetings, he usually plays with friends in the field. Kadu also mentions how he spends his holidays. He believes that even though he has a daily routine, it’s exciting and full of adventure.

“Ancient Egyptian’s daily life revolves around the Nile and the rich soil around it… daily lives of people have changed a lot since then.”

This essay shows how religion helped the Ancient Egyptians run their daily lives. The author discusses changes in festivals and the treatment of gods and royalty. To make an effective comparison, they use three examples: the importance of family, the Nile, and slavery.

The writer mentions that the Nile was essential in Ancient Egypt because it provided food to the people. Modern Egyptians no longer depend on the Nile river and its rich soil. As for working, people used to be enslaved by the rich and were forced to farm. Now, while farming is a work option, slavery doesn’t happen anymore. Early marriage is also forgotten, but the importance of family is still the same for all Egyptians.

Subedi believes that people spend the day depending on their roles. Because he’s a student, he talks about how a typical school day goes for him, noting how he follows a strict schedule to do his homework, play with friends, and prepare for the next day.

Subedi mentions how Saturdays and holidays distract his daily routine and shares how he feels like a machine with the readers. However, he also says that he knows it’s necessary to have a successful life. You might also be interested in these essays about New Year .

5. Long Essay on Television In Our Daily Life by Prasanna

“There are channels that beam programs 24 hours a day. Whereas this may be a boon for the people who do not have much to do anyway, it becomes a source of great distraction for children for whom the priority should be their studies.”

Technology like television is essential today but can also be a distraction to many. Prasanna refers to television as the most common form of entertainment that provides information on what’s happening worldwide. However, some shows have mature or violent elements that have adverse effects, especially on children. Additionally, those who spend too much time watching television will miss the thrill and excitement of going out and meeting other people.

How Much Would You Pay to Make Sure You Never Sawed Off a Finger?

Ben Blatt

By Ben Blatt

Ben Blatt is a reporter for The Upshot and an amateur woodworker who once received stitches for a band saw injury.

What’s it worth to you to minimize the risk of cutting off a finger?

$300? $600? $1,200? Or perhaps it’s worth nothing, if you think you’re already careful enough?

If you’re a woodworker willing to spend enough money, you can buy a table saw that detects fingers and stops the blade like this:

safety in daily life essay

(The hot dog is your finger.)

So, would you pay extra for this feature? What if the government said you had no choice but to pay up? And what if only one company held the patents for the safety mechanism?

Government mandates of new safety technology are classic trade-offs, whether the product is a power tool or a car or a pill. In this case, regulations requiring that table saws be sold with this safety device might mean a few thousand fingers saved per year. But they might also lead to higher costs for consumers.

When the technologies are patented, the trade-offs can become even more clear, like the high prices (and high profits) of drug companies in exchange for the innovation of new drugs. With table saws, it might similarly lead to a period of less competition and more profit for the company that developed the safety mechanism.

Among tools likely to be found in someone’s garage, table saws are the biggest driver of serious woodworking-related injuries: Each year they are responsible for about 30,000 injuries that require emergency department treatment — and nearly 4,300 amputations.

By comparison, the thousands of other products tracked by the Consumer Protection Safety Commission, a federal agency, are responsible for roughly 3,600 amputations per year combined .

Amputations from consumer products

There are various table-saw safety guards available, made out of metal and plastic. But only one company, SawStop, sells a consumer table saw that can stop and retract the blade in milliseconds once it detects the small electrical signal from a finger.

SawStop holds over 100 patents, many directly related to the safety mechanism. Its table saws cost several hundred dollars more than the most popular competing models, and sometimes more than $1,000 extra.

Few consumers choose to pay the price. In 2016, the most recent year with available sales data, less than 2 percent of the 675,000 table saws sold in the United States were SawStop saws.

Now the safety commission is considering mandating that the finger-detection system be included in every new table saw. SawStop currently produces the only consumer table saws that could be sold under the proposed rule.

Bench or compact table saws

Budget saws for basic use, jobsite table saws, mobile saws with wheels, cabinet or professional table saws, powerful saws with precision alignment fence.

At a testy agency hearing in February, Richard Trumka Jr., a Democratic commissioner, accused large power tool companies of not caring about the safety of their consumers and held up photos of people who had amputations after table saw injuries.

safety in daily life essay

Peter Feldman, the lone Republican commissioner, chastised SawStop’s chief executive for not agreeing to license the technology. “Rather than seeking to compete fairly,” Mr. Feldman told him, “I see what you’re doing as rent-seeking behavior, pure and simple.”

SawStop was founded by a patent attorney in 2000 and at first did attempt to license its finger-detection technology to other companies. After that failed, SawStop petitioned the safety commission in 2003 to require finger-detection systems on all table saws — the type of rule the commission may soon approve.

And once it started selling its own saws, SawStop developed a reputation for litigiousness: In 2015 it sued Bosch to stop it from selling a table saw that had a similar safety feature, citing patent infringement.

But the safety commission generally doesn’t concern itself with the potential for patent litigation or effective monopoly. “The C.P.S.C. doesn’t deal with competition implications; it deals with problems of safety,” said Herbert Hovenkamp, an antitrust expert at the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

The commission has debated table saw safety on and off ever since that 2003 SawStop petition. In 2017, a Republican commissioner argued that regulation was unnecessary, pointing out that consumers knew how dangerous the saws were but most made the choice not to pay the SawStop premium.

But in an interview, Robert S. Adler, a Democratic commissioner from 2009 to 2021, said that table saw injuries are not a “reasonable” risk outside the reach of the agency. “All it takes” to slice a finger, he said, “is a sneeze or a knot in the wood.”

The agency calculated that mandating the safety mechanism would have an average “net societal benefit” of about $3,000 for each new bench table saw, the type of saw most hobbyists or beginner contractors are likely to buy. That figure encompasses medical bills and lost income, though almost 70 percent of it is for “pain and suffering.”

The agency estimated that new bench table saws would cost $338 to $1,210 more with the finger-detection system.

The commissioners’ vote is likely to fall along partisan lines: Three of the four current commissioners are Democrats, and the rule will probably pass.

It would go into effect after three years. SawStop’s chief executive, Matt Howard, has pledged to open one of the company’s key patents to competitors when that happens.

He said it would be “incomprehensible” if other companies did not have their own offerings in three years, and blamed them for failing to invest in research and development.

safety in daily life essay

But the Power Tools Institute, an industry group, has said rival companies won’t be able to start development before SawStop releases the patent, because SawStop could sue the companies for using the patent in prototypes.

Bosch, which settled with SawStop over its competing product, said it would take six years to bring it back to market. Shabir Balolia, the chief operating officer of Grizzly Industrial, another competitor, said it would probably take four years to develop a new saw after the patent was released.

Matt Outlaw, who runs a popular woodworking YouTube channel , said he was concerned about possible price increases for amateur woodworkers, but supported the proposed rule overall. Mr. Outlaw, a former Arkansas state trooper, recalled the seatbelt laws he used to enforce: Not everyone likes them, but the safety benefits are proven.

When it comes to table saws, he said, “who wouldn’t trade $400 for a finger?”

Food Safety: Food Preservative in Daily Life

With the improvement of people’s living standards and the change in food consumption structure, the food industry has to promote the development of food taste and appearance. The requirements of food convenience, nutrition, and the flavor are inseparable from food ingredients. “safety of food additives’ states that there are a total ninety-eight substances which might be used as additives in our food.

Safety food additives have the following three characteristics: first, it is added to the food in the material, therefore, it is generally not eaten as food alone; Second, it includes both synthetic and natural substances. Third, the purpose of adding food is to improve the quality and color, aroma and taste of food, as well as for the needs of corrosion, preservation and processing technology.

The scientists prove the benefit of additive in our food and support the use of food additive, but many people still are doubtful or disagree with that (Arnold E. Bender 1988). As we know, food additives have two main categories which are natural and man-made. Man-made food ingredient has the most serious problem in food safety problem, especially food preservatives. Therefore, I want to study food preservatives because people are still regarded chemical preservatives with suspicion. My question is about how’s inaccessibility of government’s regulation on banning low-quality artificial food preservatives.

authors avatars

In my research, I will be focusing on three main aspects: government, corporation, and consumer. The three aspects become my entry points which help me understand the current production process of food preservatives and the safety problems existing in the production process. I will find out the associated interests between government and corporation. What’s a problem for the government to improve food safety standards. Besides, how to improve consumer acceptance of artificial food preservatives is another goal to achieve in the research.

On the first and second aspects, I learned so far that the government still has oversight of food safety regulation. “7 Multilevel Regulatory Governance of Food Safety: A Work in Progress” states that food preservatives should be regulated by passing multiple safety monitoring standards rather than the standard only for whether food preservatives contain harmful ingredients.

Grace Skogstad still argues that the government should strengthen the local regulation while the food preservatives are sold overseas and need to be kept for a long time. Therefore, the food preservatives standard should be different for food which depends on how long the food is stored rather than the same standard the government uses. Besides, government regulation is the leading force in food preservative safety regulation.

With the development of the social situation and the complexity and fragmentation of social relations, the government functions reflect the dual characteristics of demand expansion and regulatory constraints. “Standards and Regulatory Capitalism: The Diffusion of Food Safety Standards in Developing Countries” considers that the single government supervision has been unable to achieve all the functions of food preservatives safety supervision. The decentralized power structure and diversified subject structure appeared in the field of food preservatives safety supervision. Diahanna L. Post also indicates that the social intermediates and capital market subjects participated in the supervision of food preservatives safety, initially forming a situation of joint supervision by government subjects, market subjects, and social intermediates.

Why Government is still an existing problem on food additives regulation? “Modeling a Government-Manufacturer-Farmer game for food supply chain risk management” states that governments need to encourage manufacturers to develop and use food additives. At the same time, the government also needs to take some responsibility for the social health risks caused by the use of low-quality chemical additives by manufacturers. The punishment policy formulated by the government is to regulate and curb the risky behaviors of farmers and manufacturers and balance the tax revenue, punishment income, and social health risk.

Last but not least, most consumers are suspicious of chemical preservatives because they do not know the food additive manufacture principle and the ingredient inside food. This is why they take a skeptical attitude toward man-made food preservatives. In chapter six, “Processed Foods and the Consumer: Additives, Labeling, Standards, and Nutrition” argues that consumers are lack of knowledge and some misleading understanding of food preservatives.

Vernal S. Packard presents that Consumers still consider food preservatives are equal to a poisonous and harmful substance and, regard food preservatives as the main safety hazards in food. On another point, I learn that consumer behavior is related to education. “Association between parental consumer attitudes with their children’s sensory taste preferences as well as their food choice” argues that people’s consumption attitudes are related to their own educational level.

Consumers blindly pursue the rich taste and low price of food, thus ignoring the problems of excessive food additives in these foods. Jilani, Hannah S argues that this problem led to profitable manufacturers, and most of them began to add harmful food additives to their food for a long time. This increases the pressure on food safety supervision, and the government needs to spend more money on supervision, which leads to some manufacturers trying to find loopholes in the safety standard of food additives to profit from it.

On search strategy, I will focus on using an academic journal and book chapter on my whole research paper. I found various sources that are great and perfectly suits my topic question. For example, I want to explain that the government lacks multilevel and multifaceted policies and measures of food additive safety supervision.

My source “7 Multilevel Regulatory Governance of Food Safety: A Work in Progress” is appropriate to my topic question. It is useful for me to improve my topic. This source is about the lack of government regulation on food additives. It causes that many manufacturers are trying to find loopholes in the regulation of food additives to increase the number of food additives used in food. They sell more goods and profit from it. This has led to the emergence of more and more illegal food additives, increasing the pressure of food additives regulation.

Another source “Association between parental consumer attitudes with their children’s sensory taste preferences as well as their food choice” is useful for me to introduce the problem existing on consumers. Most consumers’ choice of food largely depends on taste and price. Then consumers’ education level will largely influence them to make major choices. Consumers’ awareness of food additives is not high. Low-educated consumers largely ignore the standards of food additives on food and choose to buy them simply because they are cheap. It mostly fits my topic because it exposes a serious problem for the government.

Improving consumers knowledge of food additives is still an important measure to reduce low quality food additives introducing by corporations because fewer consumers will buy their product. I always find my sources on JSTOR, Academic Search Complete and Web of Science. These three websites are most useful and great when I often use them search various kinds of academic sources.

On project challenges part, I search a lot of academic sources and find out that food additives problem is different from developed and developing countries because they have different food additives standard. It challenges me because some food additives are banned by most countries, but there are very few countries that support the use of that kind of food additives.

When I search the sources I know the reason. Those few countries have financial problems so that they can not improve the standard of all kinds of food additives. Sometimes, they prefer to lower the standard in order to let corporations introduce and sell more and more products for consumers and then they can maximize tax income.

My Daily Routine

Every morning I wake up at 5 am to the sound of my brother’s alarm which wakes me up. Exercising in the morning keeps me energetic and active the entire day. The fresh aroma of roasted coffee beans from the kitchen indicates coffee time. Later, I diligently sit for my morning studies and revise the previous day's concepts.

By 8:00 am, I’m ready for school. My mother prepares a delicious breakfast which I eat while watching the daily news along with my brother. 8:30 am I leave for school on my bicycle. Halfway, my friends join me. After lunch, I prefer light walking and freshening up for the afternoon study session. Classes end by 3:30 pm. After school, I go to the playground with my basketball team, where we practise for 2 hours, and I reach home by 6 pm. I finish my homework before supper.

Before going to bed, I prepare for the next day at school. Weekends are more relaxed. Mornings are usually spent cycling with friends. Afternoons, I help my mother grocery shop and cook in the kitchen. In the evening, I visit my grandma and have dinner with her.

500 Words Essay on My Daily Life Essay (My Daily Routine Essay)

“Early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise” is taught to us from childhood. Following the principle, I begin my day early, around 5 am. I spend the first hour of my day exercising with my brother. I love sunrises. Around 6 am, I take a pleasant walk in the park with my pet dog “Candy” enjoying the beautiful, heartwarming morning light.

My Morning Routine

After the walk, I freshen up and study for an hour. I start with the daily newspaper, followed by my curriculum subjects. At precisely 8 am, we all gather at the dining table to have our breakfast. By 8:45, everyone departs for their respective work. I will reach school in 15 minutes by bicycle. Classes begin at 9:30 and continue till 12:30 pm.

My Afternoon Routine

Lunch breaks are always fun. I share my lunch with all my friends. I, along with my friends, walk to the dining hall; on the way, I make sure to go through the school's bulletin board. We discuss sports, television serials, and games while having our lunch. Lunch breaks are when I meet my seniors, discuss my doubts, and ask for their suggestions.

Classes go on till 3:30 pm. The last hour of the day is dedicated to PTE or games. This is the time when I relax and have fun. We indulge ourselves in fun games like running, tennis, basketball etc.

My Evening Routine

By 4:30, on the way home, I like stopping by my favourite chaat shop and enjoying some delicacies there. After arriving home at 5:00, I relax for an hour, eat some snacks, and watch my favourite tv show. 6 - 7:30 I go out to play.

By 7:30 pm , I’m back to studying, finishing my homework, and revising the day's curriculum till 8:30. We have our supper by 9. Everyone updates about their daily happenings during supper. I watch television for some time after dinner and finally am off to bed by 10 pm. I end my day by offering my gratitude for everything.

My Favourite part of the day

The time I have my supper is the best part of my day. I enjoy it a lot. My father usually asks us about our day. He usually tells us stories from his office, cracks jokes, and sometimes asks us puzzling questions. The winner gets to choose the tv program to watch. Later, the entire family goes out for a short walk with Candy. It's the perfect way to end the day with love, warmth and togetherness.

My Daily Relaxing Recreation

Every passing moment is an opportunity. But sometimes, these deadlines and schedules work me up. Everyone should have a hobby to relax and unwind from their daily monotonous routine. So, I make sure to relax now and then with some hobbies. My mother and I love to bake. Baking helps us relax. I feel calm and composed after baking.

The Inside Outside Guys: Lighting up your life

We underestimate the importance of light in our homes.

From safety to psychological to physical performance issues, light is a critical component of our daily existence.

In the northern climes, we are all aware of the potentially debilitating depression called Seasonal Affective Disorder, SAD, brought about by the lack of sunlight.

But light is also important for creating ambiance, performing specific tasks, for emergencies that may occur, for security, and for general purposes throughout the home.

In the recent past, we purchased and installed lighting based on input power, known as watts, instead of output lighting efficacy, known as lumens.

We also have a nasty habit of simply installing a single ceiling fixture in the center of rooms without regard for what we would actually require the light for.

In kitchens, as an example, this often puts our work with a sharp knife in shadow as we stand between the light source and the countertop.

A lumen harkens back to the light created by one candle in 1 square foot, what we call a foot candle.

The building code makes reference to foot candles of light in such areas as stairways, but consumers are advised to simply understand lumens and what the industry calls correlated color temperature, CCR, in determining the appropriate bulb and fixture for a specific application.

You’ll recognize CCR as “cool” or “warm” light as measured on the Kelvin, K, scale. Pure white light is around 4,000 K as compared to a warm yellow of around 2,700 K.

Daylight is rated at 5,000 K or more.

Lighting issues in most homes include insufficient light, improper contrast, glare and poor light distribution.

Glare can result in veiling reflection on some surfaces which can translate to a safety issue, particularly for those with sight impairments. It compares to what we commonly call a mirage as heat is reflected from a surface creating a false image, often of water where water does not exist.

Think of polished wood floors or other hard surfaces in kitchens and baths.

For the elderly in particular, safety is a huge issue.

Security in and outside of the home can be provided by proper lighting that allows for recognition of people, navigation of obstacles and avoidance of hazards.

Bright, 4,000 K lights on motion sensors can help, particularly on the dark sides of the home.

Task lighting under kitchen wall cabinets to illuminate the countertops and stovetop can provide an additional measure of safety.

Fluorescent lighting in clothes closets can better help us distinguish color so we aren’t mismatching clothing.

Motion sensors installed in hallways and bathrooms might save us from a late-night trip and fall.

Light fixtures, and the bulbs they use, can be upgraded in a home with relative ease.

For design purposes, the lumen equivalent to watts is fairly simple to remember.

A 100-watt bulb is roughly equal to 1,600 lumens. Sixty watts, 800 lumens.

Packaging today will include this equivalency, so you can get both an idea of how much light the bulb will generate and how much energy it will take to operate.

Make certain the fixtures you choose are compatible with the bulb and type of light you desire.

The Department of Energy, DOE, tells us that LED bulbs today use up to 80% less energy than the incandescent we grew up with, so changing out those old fixtures might even save you money in the long run.

Keep in mind that adding or even changing light fixtures and switches is not a DIY project. Use professionals for both design and installation like those you can find every day at Insideoutsideguys.com .

I am a student in the stage …….. I wake up early, salute my family members ,my mother , father and sister and we all have  breakfast, and then I wear my school uniforms as well as my sister, and ride school bus with my sister, she is in the stage …. …. .

I go to my class and sit with my friends and learn the different subjects from our teachers, we go to the music lab to study musical instruments and play musical tracks.

We play sports that we love in the sports  class, especially football. It is my favorite game. After school, we go home and do the homework.

Then I have lunch with my family and relax for a while. In the evening, I and my friends meet and decide where we will go now. We go to the cinema to watch an action movie or go to the theater to watch a comedy play, and sometimes we go to visit a friend.

After returning home in the evening, all the family members meet and talk a lot about all the things that have happened on this day.

And plan some important things that we want to do, such as the visit of some relatives as we also suggest where we will spend the weekend. I have dinner with my family and watch interesting TV programs, then go to my room and go to sleep.

It is wonderful to have a different and varied daily life for a person, where he can acquire new skills, in addition to releasing energy and maintaining a healthy body and mind.

Everyone has experienced the Corona epidemic in the past two years, and the extent of the impact of this epidemic on daily life and the suspension of many activities and outings, and everyone has become isolated and far from each other.

Therefore, with the gradual return of normal life, normal life has gained meaning and appreciation, especially for those who were deprived of it due to being infected with this epidemic, as it has killed many of our families, relatives and loved ones.

Whoever goes through it and writes life for him will surely appreciate life and live in a different, healthy and beneficial way.

This is what I have been doing for a short time. I devote my entire time to benefit, learn, exercise and follow a healthy diet that increases immunity and prevents many diseases.

Public safety officer helps save life of escanaba man.

safety in daily life essay

Ilsa Minor Daily Press Escanaba Public Safety Officer Aaron Young, left, is presented a lifesaving award by Escanaba Public Safety Director John Gudwer.

ESCANABA — Escanaba Public Safety Officer Aaron Young was presented with a lifesaving award on March 21 for his role in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on a resident in cardiac arrest.

On July 20, 2023, at approximately 8:42 p.m., officers were dispatched to a home in the 200 block of Ogden Avenue on a report of an unresponsive male subject, later identified as Mike Bittner, whose wife was attempting life-saving measures.

Public Safety Officers Aaron Young, Mitch Peterson, and Dalton Deneau performed CPR on Bittner at the scene, switching out as needed to prevent any one officer from becoming too fatigued to keep the process going.

The actions of Peterson, Deneau and Young freed up responding EMTs from Rampart EMS. Rampart administered medications to Bittner and shocked his heart five time until a steady pulse was found.

Bittner was transported to OSF St. Francis Hospital. A week later, on July 27, Public Safety was informed Bittner was back home with no impairments from the incident.

At the March 21 Escanaba City Council meeting, Chief of Police John Gudwer present the three officers with lifesaving awards and pins.
