Thank you for the inspiration for a gift for the first wedding anniversary. Now I know what I will buy my wife. It will be a peice of art – a large-format printout of our wedding photo.

I love the sketch. My husband gave me a Dreamlines sketch of my dress from the front and back view. It was the most sentimental gift. Very perfect.

Years ago my husband got me an anniversary sundial that sits indoors on the window sill and makes rainbows in the family room when the sun shines. I don’t remember what it’s called exactly but you can find it online with a search. He gave me a gift certificate (paper gift, first anniversary) and when I had the man make it for my windowsill he added a date line that the time shadow follows on our anniversary and a special mark that the time shadow touches at the same time we did our vows. So, on our second anniversary, my husband had champagne ready for the time the shadow hit the mark, to celebrate the moment of our vows with champagne and rainbows. We do it every year, and it has become a nice tradition!

Yeah I love number 8 too! There’s something similar called NoteCube that my friend did and her hubby LOVEEEEEED it. It’s a little more established and they give you message/note suggestions which is handy. Little more expensive though 🙂

An anniversary sundial is a good idea, we have one that sits on the window sill in our family room and it makes rainbow colors stream into the room when the sun shines. My husband got me a special paper certificate for it that let me choose where to put it in the house and then to have it handmade specifically for my favorite window – he thought he was so clever to give me both a paper gift as well as a cool clock. It has a special line on it that the time shadow follows on our anniversary day each year, and a mark on the line at the time we were married. Every year since, we have had a champagne toast when the shadow hits the mark to celebrate! I don’t remember what it is called exactly but you can find it online with a search. We have one of these, we got it for our wedding several years ago. I really loved the idea that you can gift a hand-drawn custom family portrait. 14 DIY Paper Anniversary Gifts To Make In A Weekend

If you’re looking for some easy DIY paper anniversary gifts that you can make for your other half in just one weekend, then we hope you find the list below helpful.

Scott and I love making each other homemade gifts. Not only are they extra special, but you can personalise them exactly how you like.

Each of the gifts below are all ones that we’ve personally given to each other over the years – and we hope you love making them just as much as we have.

1. Heart Map Art

There are  so many map art projects  you could make but DIY heart map art pictures are probably our favourite. They’re easy to make, taking less than ten minutes in total, and look so cute once popped inside a beautiful frame.

You could even make a set of these to show where you met, got engaged, got married and bought your first home together. You could either use a  multi-aperture frame  or use separate frames to help create a cute gallery wall.

2. A Bouquet of Paper Flowers

Speaking of maps, you can also make beautiful paper roses with them… or even an entire bouquet of paper flowers!

8. Tissue Paper Bleeding Art

Here’s another super simple painting you could make for your other half – using the bleeding art technique .

You’ll use something called bleeding tissue paper to make it (that’s the paper part), and although you could do your artwork on canvas, there’s also nothing to stop you from using some art paper instead.
