جیسے موٹاپا کوئی بیماری نہیں لیکن یہ بہت سی بیماریوں کی جڑ ہے بالکل ویسے ہی بڑھتی ہوئی آبادی کوئی مسلہ نہیں لیکن یہ بہت سے مسائل کی جڑ ہے۔ بڑھتی ہوئی آبادی کی وجہ سے مسائل تب پیدا ہونا شروع ہوتے ہیں جب انکی مقدار کے مطابق وسائل میں کمی آجاتی ہے۔

بڑھتی ہوئی آبادی کی شرح

دنیا میں آبادی تیزی سے بڑھتی جا رہی ہے۔ دنیا کی آبادی اس وقت 7.4 ارب سے زائد ہے۔سن 1800ء میں دنیا کی آبادی ایک ارب تھی اور اسے دوگنا ہونے میں ایک سو پچیس سال لگے مگر وقت کے ساتھ ساتھ اس اضافے کی شرح کی رفتار میں ناقابل یقین اضافہ دیکھا جا رہا ہے۔ ایک اندازے کے مطابق دنیا میں ہر 8 سیکنڈ کے بعد ایک بچے کی پیدائش ہوتی ہے اور ہر 11 سیکنڈ بعد ایک انسان کی موت۔

بڑھتی آبادی اور ایشیا

ایشیا دنیا میں سب سے زیادہ آبادی والا حصّہ ہے۔ اگر پاکستان ،بھارت،چین اور بنگلادیش کو لیا جاۓ تو دنیا کی 40 فیصد آبادی تو انہی پر مشتمل ہے اور وسائل کی کمی بھی ادھر ہی زیادہ پائی جاتی ہے۔

بڑھتی آبادی کی وجہ

آبادی کے تیزی سے بڑھنے کی وجہ غربت اور جہالت بھی ہے۔ کچھ لوگ بیٹے کی خوائش یا اپنے بازو بڑھانے کے لئے اپنی اولاد کی اضافہ کیے جاتے ہیں۔ اس جہالت اور غربت کی وجہ سے آبادی میں تیزی سے اضافہ ہو رہا ہے۔

بڑھتی آبادی کی روک تھام کے لئے بہت سے اقدامات ہیں اگر ان پر عمل کیا جاۓ تو بڑھتی آبادی کو آسانی سے روکا جا سکتا ہے۔ سب سے پہلے تو لوگوں میں خواندگی کا معیار بڑھایا جاۓ اور انہیں شعور دلایا جاۓ کہ وہ افراد کی بجاۓ بہتر معیاری زندگی کی طرف توجہ دیں۔ عوام کو سمجھایا جاۓ کہ مہنگائی،بے روزگاری،صحت،لاقانونیت جیسے مسائل سے بچنے کے لئے بڑھتی آبادی کو روکنا بہت ضروری ہے ۔بڑھتی آبادی کی روک تھام ہوگی تب ہی ملکی معیشت پھلے پھولے گی اور زندگی کا معیار بہتر ہوگا۔
