Freedom is one of the most expected states of living throughout the world for all living beings. Any kind of bondage or forcing anyone to imprisonment is a punishable offence. All have the right to live freely. Similarly, when India lost her independence to the British in 1757 after the battle of Plassey, for the next 200 years India fought for her independence.

It was extremely difficult for the freedom fighters or the brave souls to bring India’s Independence. Freedom fighters of those people who fight for the freedom of their specific nation, and who sacrifice their lives for the same. India is one of the most significant lands where brave freedom fighters are born to save the motherland.

Whether on a small scale or on a large scale, freedom of life is the most desired state for all living beings on Earth. Those who fight for their own freedom are called freedom fighters. They are extremely brave and never scared to sacrifice their life for the greater good. Throughout centuries several parts of the world have experienced the loss of their Independence.

Many countries like India have suffered colonial aggression under a strong power like the British. So for the next 200 years, Indian freedom fighters have constantly fought against the torture of the British Empire.

Be it America or India or African communities, freedom fighters are always those energetic people whose blood has been rewarded by the personalized constitution of every nation. As for India, freedom fighters like Netaji, Gandhi, Surya Sen, Binay-Badal-Dinesh, Khudiram, and others have been duty-bound to bring India freedom.

While Gandhiji worked for the nonviolence method, some revolutionaries fought directly with arms against the British. In both ways, India received her independence. A freedom fighter, hence, is not just using the brain but also constantly fighting against the torture, physically. Today soldiers fighting at the borders are respected as freedom fighters because for getting their own lives they constantly try to keep the country safe and secure.

If any human being is asked about the greatest state of living on the earth, they will consider freedom to be one of those. From a small scale to a bigger region, freedom is the most desired state of all. When a country gets captivated, the citizens of that nation fight for their rights and independence. Those people who fight for their rights and freedom are called freedom fighters.

A freedom fighter is perhaps the most respectable person on this earth. He is much more than a simple human, not because he is fighting for his country. Beyond anything, the fighter forgets about his own family and dedicates his life completely for the sake of the nation. He never gives importance to his own life and binds himself to a single purpose of saving the country.

India is a seat for many such great freedom fighters whom we still remember and pay our respects to. In fact, any country gives extreme importance to the lives of freedom fighters. They are immortal for the sacrifice they make for the country’s well-being. These brave soldiers are bound by their codes of duty and honour and are instructed in different ways to make them able and responsible war figures for the nation.

When the British came to India and colonized the country for almost 200 years, then at several places in the country, freedom fighters waged wars against them. It all started on small scales where the Queen of Jhansi, Tantia Tope, Mangal Pandey, Titumir, and others waged wars against the colonial masters. They made their efforts stronger even as a tribal chief or a specific group of people. But later on with the advent of Gandhian politics in India and the availability of guns, gunpowder, bullets, and other equipment, freedom fighters started developing their skills.

They now used the weapons of the British against them and the country blazed in revolt. After Sepoy Mutiny in 1857, India saw how Bengal became a seat of such brave freedom fighters. Surya Sen, Netaji, Khudiram, Binay-Badal-Dinesh, Pritilata Waddedar, and Matangini Hazra, all became important faces to drive the country to independence. While Gandhi proposed non-violence, simultaneously the freedom fighters continued their actions. Both at two different levels are freedom fighters.

Thus freedom fighters believe in their own strengths and still now whenever a country faces a crisis of independence they jump forward to rescue all. Many are brutally wounded and made impaired for life. The life of the freedom fighters reminds us to maintain peace between nations.

100 Words Essay on Indian Freedom Struggle

We know a lot about India's freedom struggle through books and movies. It's important to recognize the hard work and dedication that gave way to earning India's freedom. For hundreds of years, India and its men and women were colonized and ruled by the Britishers. Before that, India was divided into many princely states. Following the arrival of the Britishers, every Indian citizen, irrespective of class, caste and religion, came together to fight against the oppression. Freedom fighters such as Bhagat Singh, Rani Laxmi Bai, Mahatma Gandhi were some of the leaders who fought on the front lines. After years of struggle, India finally became independent on 15 August 1947.

200 Words Essay on Indian Freedom Struggle

The Indian freedom struggle was a long and arduous journey that lasted for nearly 2 centuries. It was a movement that brought together people from all walks of life, united in their desire for freedom from British colonial rule. The struggle for independence was a defining moment in India's history and had a profound impact on shaping the country's political and social landscape.

Causes Of Indian Freedom Struggle

The Indian freedom struggle was driven by a number of factors, including economic exploitation, political repression, and cultural oppression. The British East India Company, which controlled India's economy, had a monopoly on trade and imposed high taxes on Indian farmers and merchants, leading to widespread poverty and economic hardship.

In addition, British colonial rule was characterized by political repression and the denial of basic rights and freedoms to the Indian people. The British government imposed a number of laws, including the Indian Penal Code and the Indian Arms Act, which restricted the rights of Indians and curtailed their ability to organize and protest.

Moreover, the British colonial authorities imposed their culture and language on India, leading to a loss of national identity and cultural heritage among Indians. This cultural oppression was a major factor in the growth of Indian nationalism sentiment, which was a driving force behind the freedom struggle.

Indian Freedom Struggle Essay 500 Words

The struggle for Indian independence was a lengthy one that lasted close to 200 years. People from various walks of life joined the movement because they shared a goal to be free from British colonial authority. The fight for independence marked a turning point in Indian history and significantly influenced the political and social climate of the nation. Economic exploitation, political tyranny, and cultural oppression were some of the elements that fueled the Indian freedom struggle, and significant personalities and events were crucial to the country's march toward independence. The Indian freedom struggle is an inspiring reminder of the power of unity and determination in the face of oppression and injustice.

Key Events and Leaders

The Indian freedom struggle was a long and complex process that involved a number of key events and leaders. Subhash Chandra Bose- An Unsung Hero

Whenever we hear the name Subhash Chandra Bose, the first thing that comes in our mind is a popular saying by him, “Tum Mujhe Khoon do main tumhe Azadi dunga”.

Subhash Chandra Bose, popularly known as Netaji, was a great militant, freedom fighter and a patriot. He was born in Cuttack, Orissa on 23rd January 1897 to Janakinath Bose and Prabhavati Devi. His father Janakinath Bose was a well-known lawyer of his time. His mother Prabhavati Devi was a religious woman.

Subhash Chandra was a brilliant student who had scored the second position in the matriculation exam. At an early age, he started reading about Swami Vivekananda and Ramakrishna and was influenced by their teachings. Bose completed his B.A. Hons in Philosophy in 1918 from the University of Calcutta. He later went to England in September 1919 for further studies. He was selected for the Indian Civil Service but he did not want to stay in England and serve the British government. Subhash Chandra resigned from his Civil Service job in 1921 and returned to India after hearing of the national turmoil in India.

From a young age, Subhash Chandra Bose had the nationalist temperament and Britishers’ discrimination towards Indians would fill him with rage. To serve the country, he joined the Indian National Congress (also known as the Congress Party). Bose joined the Noncooperation Movement, started by Gandhi under his influence. Bose was a revolutionary freedom fighter who was known to have founded the Azad Hind Army or Indian National Army. For his revolutionary movements, Bose had been to jail several times. He was suspected of connections with secret revolutionary movements and was sent to Mandalay Jail in Burma (Myanmar) where he contracted Tuberculosis. Bose was elected the president of Congress party and worked along with Jawahar Lal Nehru, another great political leader. Both had a more militant and left-wing approach to Independence, which became a reason for Bose’s differences with Gandhi and other Congress leaders.

Bose’s selfless contribution to India’s Independence Movement and organizing and leading the Indian National Army is indispensable. His struggle of Independence was highlighted during the Civil Disobedience Movement for which he had even been arrested. In fact, he was imprisoned 11 times for his ideologies and the use of force against the British. Bose was elected the president of the Indian National Congress twice but he resigned from the post as he was against the congress internal and foreign policy.

Soon, he left the party and went out of the country seeking an alliance with other countries to fight against British forces. He earned the support of the Japanese and they agreed to help him in forming the Indian national army in Southeast Asia. Later on, he became the commander of the INA. The Indian National Army attacked the North-eastern parts of India. This attack took place under the leadership of Subhash Chandra Bose and he was even successful in acquiring a few portions of the north-eastern parts of India. Unfortunately, the surrender of the Japanese forced him to withdraw and call off the war. It is believed that he died in a plane crash on 18th August 1945. Subash Chandra Bose was an unforgettable national hero who fought for the country’s freedom struggle against the British till his last breath. He is known to be one of the greatest heroes the country has ever seen!

A Little Bit About Subhash Chandra Bose

Subhash Chandra Bose was born in Cuttack, Orissa, in 1897. He grew up deeply identifying with the Indian Freedom Movement and subsequently became a part of it in the 1920s.

He led a radical wing of the Indian National Congress (INC) throughout the 1920s and 1930s and eventually gained enough popularity and support to rise to a position of leadership in the INC. He eventually became the Congress President in 1938, but ended up leaving the party in 1939 because of a difference of opinion with the rest of the Congress leadership.

After his resignation from the Congress, he was placed under house arrest by the ruling British Government, but managed to escape India in 1940. Upon his escape, he made his way to Germany by 1941, where he secured the sympathy and help of the Nazi party in his plan to overthrow the British Occupation. With help from Germany's ally Japan, he Bose headed the Indian National Army (INA) which attempted to "conquer" parts of India, thereby freeing those areas from British Occupation. This attempt eventually failed and in 1945, the INA was soundly defeated by the British forces.

Despite his failure at leading a military revolt against the British Occupation, Bose was extremely successful in another area. In 1941, a Free India Radio was set up with help from Germany, on which Bose regularly spoke about the Indian Freedom Movement. Due to his charisma and charm, he succeeded in generating a wave of support for the Indian Freedom Movement.

Freedom fighters were those brave and audacious people who devoted their lives to achieve freedom for their country from the British rule. They made endless sacrifices so that we can live freely in our country and live a life of happiness. Britishers used to do many unjust acts of exploitation on Indians, so these freedom fighters were the people who have the courage to withstand these British people and fight with them to attain independence for their country. They went through a lot of pain and suffering to make India a free and independent country.

People always commemorate them for their patriotism and love for their country. We and our coming generations can never thank them enough for their sacrifices and hard work. Freedom fighters are the people because of which we are able to celebrate Independence Day.

Many freedom fighters went for war to protect people from the cruelty of Britishers. Many of them were assassinated during the war and thus we can realize how bravely they went through every situation and made us a free citizen.

Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Udham Sigh, Rajguru, Subhash Chandra Bose, Chander Shekhar, Sukhdev are some of the famous freedom fighters who consecrated their whole lives fighting for their country.

However, we can see communal hatred rising day by day which is quite shameful as people are making the sacrifices of these freedom fighters useless. So we must not stand against each other and should always try to live in peace so that we can help make our nation successful and prospering.
