APPLICATIONS
Boston City Campus (Pty) Ltd strives to enhance, uplift and continuously improve the quality of education and training in Southern Africa through the commitment to: “Education. For Life.”
This mission is supported in official pronouncements, which make it clear that “At the centre of the transformation agenda in education is the principle of lifelong learning and the need to rectify the inequities of the past through increased access to Higher Education, which is essential to promoting skills and human resource development and a pre-condition for facilitating social and economic transformation” (CHE, 2008).
NOTE: Boston City Campus offers students the possibility of registering for any module in either Higher Education Programmes or Occupational Programmes as Occasional Students. Students who choose to pursue this route of study, elect to enrol in modules for non-qualification purposes. In other words, Occasional Students are not intending to complete a qualification. Their interest is in professional and personal development. Should students who complete modules as Occasional Students wish to enrol in one of Boston’s programmes, the guiding principles of Boston’s policy on the Recognition of Prior Learning and/or Credit Accumulation and Transfer will apply.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Programme-specific admission requirements are determined by the Board of Directors, Academic Committee and where applicable as prescribed by the various Institutes, Quality Councils and SAQA.
Boston’s provision of a wide range of Short Learning Programmes, well established within the Higher Education system globally, is very important in contributing to meeting the objectives of lifelong learning, correcting inequalities and underscoring aspirations. These offerings serve the following key purposes:
- Enabling access to Higher Education to those who were denied access and/or who may not meet the formal entry requirements for Higher Education; and,
- Meeting the needs of employees and professionals to continually upgrade their skills and knowledge.
Boston has, wherever possible, taken into consideration all policies pertaining to these different scopes of study; however, where any institute other than Boston is concerned, additional policies and procedures, rules and regulations may apply. Please ensure you enquire at the Boston Tuition/Support Centre/Site regarding such issues and that you have all respective documentation pertaining to the specific institute, particularly:
- Membership application, fees and due dates.
- Examination application forms, fees and due dates.
- Examination/assessment dates and venues.
- Examination/assessment booking, cancellation and resubmission policies and procedures.
- If a student’s Boston account is in arrears, no external assessment bookings will be allowed to be made. In addition to this, if a student has made payment arrangements, no bookings will be allowed until such time as the account is fully up to date.
While Boston City Campus (Pty) Ltd staff endeavour to ensure streamlined administration in this regard, the onus lies with the student to ensure that prescribed dates and deadlines are met in order for Boston to submit necessary documentation correctly and timeously.
ADMISSION OF NON-SOUTH AFRICAN RESIDENT STUDENTS
Admission of non-South African resident students is subject to the conditions set out in the Refugee Act 130 of 1998 (relevant to amendments), the Immigration Act 13 of 2002 (and with consideration to any amendments or directives relating to Immigration Regulations). The success of a non-South African resident application depends on both the confirmation of academic acceptance and the obtaining of the necessary statutory documentation and state approval.
Prospective students may enquire at any of the Boston regional Tuition/Support Centre/Site to obtain a quotation on the curriculum and fees of a programme.
Please consult the Boston Prospectus on the availability of programmes offered at the various Boston Tuition/Support Centres/Sites. Certain programmes are only available at selected Tuition/Support Centres/Sites. Quotations will provide prospective students with various payment options to suit their needs. Quotations are only valid for a period of 30 days. On expiry, a prospective student will have to request a new quotation from a Sales Consultant at a Boston Tuition/Support Centre/Site.
The relevant Banking details will be available from the Boston Tuition/Support Centre/Site where the quotation was generated.
On acceptance of a quotation, a student will be registered with the Institution and a formal invoice will be provided to the student. Please make reference to the terms and conditions as contained in the Boston Registration Contract and the Student Information and Rulebook.
REGISTRATIONS
Registration Process
Boston Short Learning Programme and Occupational Students cannot register online and must complete, sign and submit a hard-copy of the Registration Contract at a Boston Branch.
Boston City Campus (Pty) Ltd: Digital Learning Students may register online to enrol for Micro and Nano SLP-courses.
Upon registration, a student acknowledges:
- that she/he has read and understands the information contained in the Registration Contract, the Student Information and Rulebook and, where relevant, the programme Fact Sheet; and,
- that she/he undertakes to be bound by the general rules, policies, regulations and procedures of the Institution, including the Code of Conduct. (In the case of all minors, parents or guardians must also sign and submit a hard copy of the agreement).
By signing the Registration Contract, students and/or parents or guardians signal their acceptance of the Fees Invoice. Furthermore, the confirmation of a student’s enrolment at Boston requires that students submit themselves to the rules and regulations of the Institution and that they (or their parent(s)/guardian) undertake to pay the prescribed fees associated with their enrolment at Boston. External Fees, associated with Institute Learning Programmes, as defined in the Prospectus (Assessment and Tuition Fees), are linked to the prevailing exchange rate and may consequently vary.
The registration fee and the first instalment of the tuition fee, as determined annually by the Institution, are payable upon registration.
After registration, students are obliged to pay the outstanding fees due on or before the dates stipulated by the Institution and set out in the final Fees invoice.
Students who cancel their registration within the 7-day cooling off period are not entitled to reimbursement of the registration fee. Students who cancel their registration after the 7-day cooling off period are not entitled to reimbursement of the registration fee and remain liable for the tuition fees in accordance with the Registration Contract.
The registration of students is valid for the applicable registration period only and lapses on expiry of this period. No student will be permitted to continue with studies outside of the stipulated contract period with the Institution. Failure to complete a qualification within the contract period will require a student to re-register with the institution to complete their qualification.
Students register for a programme as contained in the Institution’s Annual Prospectus and with special reference to the Registration Contract Regulations and Terms and Conditions.
The Boston Board of Directors and Academic Committee may determine the minimum number of students who should register for a programme or a module for it to be offered on a particular campus and/or in a particular year.
Students register for a programme and are subject to the academic regulations that applied at the time of first registration for that particular programme, provided that:
(a) Where the regulations are amended, students who commenced their studies under the previous regulations and who have not interrupted their studies may complete their studies according to the previous regulations;
(b) If the new regulations are beneficial to them, students may complete their studies under these new regulations;
(c) The Academic Committee may set special transitional arrangements, in respect of programmes where a change has been approved, and determine a date on which new regulations will be phased in and previous regulations phased out.
Students who were registered for a programme and who failed to renew their registration for that programme in the following academic semester or year, or who have interrupted their studies, forfeit the right to complete their studies according to the previous regulations, provided that:
(a) Registration for experiential learning or work-integrated learning for the academic period following the period in question will be regarded as a renewal of registration;
(b) The Registrar and Academic Executive/Head may, in exceptional circumstances, allow students to continue their studies according to conditions that may be determined.
When regulations are amended, the Academic Committee may formulate transitional regulations for students to complete a specific programme according to the new regulations.

Your boston college course application.
If you are looking to apply for a course at Boston College, or if you have already submitted an application and would like to track it's progress, you can find out everything you need to know below.
Submitting your Application
After you have had a good look through all of the course areas that interest you at Boston College and have found the perfect course for you, the next step is to apply for a place!
Applying for a place couldn't be simpler - the four steps below explain the whole process. If you still require any help, you can contact the College's information line on 01205 313218 to speak to a member of staff who will be more than happy to help.
Step 1 - Find a Course and Submit an Application
You can apply for a course at Boston College in two different ways, either online or via a paper application. The College encourages online applications as the quickest route.
Online Applications
The first thing you need to do is find the right course for you! To do this visit our ' Find a Course ' page, which details all of the courses available at Boston College.
Once you have found the course you would like to apply for, you can do so by clicking the 'Apply for this course' button on the individual course information page. You will then need to create an account (if you haven't already), as this will provide you with the ability to track your application throughout the admissions process.
Interested in more than one course? - If you are interested in a few different courses, you can apply for up to three courses per application. All you have to do is select the 'Add to shortlist' button on each individual course information page. These courses will then be added to your 'shortlist' - you can find your shortlist by clicking the 'star' icon at the top of the page.
If at a later date you wish to apply for an additional different course, you just have to follow the above steps, however, instead of creating an account you will just need to log in using your log in details.
Need help? - Our ' Application FAQs ' are some of the questions we are asked most frequently about making an online application. If you still have a question which has not been answered, you can contact us by using the ' Contact Us Form '.
Step 2 - Application Review
After your application has been received and processed, you will have the chance to discuss the course in more detail and to decide which level of study is right for you.
The 'Application Review' will take place with a member of staff from your chosen course area, and it's a great way of getting to know the College and staff.
Step 3 - Your Place
Following your review, you will be sent a letter stating one of the following:
- An unconditional offer - If you already have the entry qualifications and experience required.
- A conditional offer - If you are awaiting the results of exams or completion of experience.
- Offer of a guidance session to look at alternative courses.
Step 4 - Enrolment
Once you have accepted an offer at Boston College, you will receive a letter around August inviting you to enrol on a certain date and time. Your enrolment letter will also provide you with all the information you need to be able to enrol at College.
Enrolment usually takes places at the end of August, at both the Boston Campus (Rochford) and Spalding Campus. Your letter will state the location, with the overall process taking around two hours.
Once enrolment has been completed and you have your Boston College ID badge, you are an official Boston College Student!
Application Tips and Guidance
When to apply - You can apply for a course at Boston College at any time during the academic year, but we encourage early application to secure your place. You can also apply for a place at college even if you have already submitted an application for sixth form or another college.
Waiting for your GCSE grades? - If you are a school leaver, you might not have your GCSE results by the time you apply for a course at College. That's fine - just fill out the application form with your expected grades. The College is open on GCSE results day for information and advice, and you can also come along to enrolment to discuss options if your situation has changed.
Interested in more than one course? - If you are interested in a few different courses or you are applying for A levels, you can apply for up to three courses per application. All you have to do is select the 'Add to shortlist' button on each individual course information page. These courses will then be added to your 'shortlist' - you can find your shortlist by clicking the 'star' icon at the top of the page.
Need more help? - Our ' Application FAQs ' are some of the questions we are asked most frequently about making an online application. If you still have a question which has not been answered, you can contact us by using the ' Contact Us Form '.
Tracking your Application
Once the College has received your application it will then be processed by the Admissions Team. By submitting an application online you will have the ability to track your application throughout the admissions process.

Boston City Campus and Business College Application Requirements 2022
The Boston City Campus and Business College Admission Requirements, Boston College Application Requirements 2022, Boston College Courses and Requirements and other application information for 2022 admission session available here.
The Authority of the Boston City Campus and Business College has publicized the Admission Application Requirement for undergraduate and postgraduate prospective candidates that seek admission into the institution for the 2022 academic year. These requirements are for various programmes offered at the institution, it serves as a guide in the application process. All interested applicants are to read through carefully making sure that they fulfil the requirements before putting in an application.
Where Can I Find The Latest Boston College Application Requirements?
The Prospectus is the best place to find the university of south Africa entry requirements and other vital application information such as application fees, application dates, courses, mode of application, and more.
- Access The Boston College Prospectus 2022 Here
Apart from the prospectus highlighted above, it also important to access the official Boston College admission portal for the latest application news updates. I have provided links to the Boston College Admission Application Requirements pages below.
Here are the Boston College General Admission Requirements
Things to note before applying online to Boston College:
- You’ll need an email address to complete the application.
- South African applicants will need an ID number. Foreign applicants will need their passport number.
- Once you have received your student number from Boston College, you will need to pay the application fee.
- Make sure your documents are scanned according to the guidelines.
- Your admission to Boston College is dependent on you meeting the specific admission requirements for your chosen qualification.
- If you don’t meet these requirements, you may want to consider alternative qualifications or possibly, if you qualify, an extended programme, enabling you to register for limited modules in your first year.
- Students who completed Grade 12 at the ACE (Accelerated Christian Education) School of Tomorrow may no longer be accepted at Boston College.
- Some Boston College qualifications have limited spaces available. Meeting the general and / specific admission requirements for a qualification does not guarantee that you will be offered a space for the 2022 academic year.
Important Things to Note Before Apply to University
- Closing Dates: Make sure you know the exact closing dates for the institutions you want to apply to.
- Online vs. Postage/Courier: Some universities use an online application system, while others only accept hard copies. Some offer both. Take this into account when starting the application process.
- Exam Results: Your Grade 11 marks are really important for your application. Some universities allow you to use your Matric June marks, so have these at hand!
- Financial Aid: If your family’s income falls below a certain bracket, you could qualify. This will be a separate form and you’ll need your parent or guardian’s payslip ready for proof.
- Current Year’s Activity: If you’re in Matric, the university requires your school marks and school activity details. If you took a gap year they’ll need travelling or working details.
- Certified copy of your ID
- Parent’s/guardian’s ID
- Exam results
- Proof of residence
- Most recent payslip NEVER sends the original documents.
- Make Sure all Details are Correct: Fill in your application form slowly and double-check your details before submitting online. If you fill out a hardcopy, use a pencil before filling it out with a blue or black pen.
- Pay the Application Fee: Make sure of the required amount, EFT it or pay it at the bank. Never post it. Send the university proof of payment if it’s required.
- Signing the Declaration: Read through the form and make sure your details are all true and correct. You AND your parent/ guardian need to sign it.
- Acceptance: You will be sent a formal email or letter to inform you of your acceptance. Remember to continue working hard and pay the minimum initial payment by the due date.
Please Note*: For most institutions, you’ll need to write an NBT test, which will test your academic readiness. Make sure you check up with the institution you’re applying to whether or not you’ll need an NBT result for your application. Your NBT results are valid for 3 years (how cool?) and you only need to write the test once if you’re applying to more than one institution.
