बैंक एक संसथान है जहां पैसों का लेन देन होता है । यह बैंकिंग प्रणाली (system) पुरे विश्व स्तर पर प्रचलित है । किसी भी देश में बैंक  एक अहम् भूमिका निभाता है । लोग बैंक में पैसे जमा करते है और जब जरुरत पड़े तब उसे निकाल सकते है । जमा किये गए पैसो पर बैंक कुछ ब्याज भी देता है । जमा पैसो पर ब्याज देने का यह प्रचलन लोगो को बैंक में पैसे जमा करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करता है । पैसे जमा करने और  निकालने की प्रक्रिया बहुत ही आसान होता है ।

सबसे पहले बैंक में व्यक्ति के नाम से खाता (account) खुलवाया जाता है । खाता   खुलने के बाद व्यक्ति को खाता नंबर मिल जाता है । इसी खाता नंबर की मदत से व्यक्ति बैंक में पैसो का लेन देन कर सकता है । बैंक में खातो के भी कई प्रकार होते है जिसमे मुख्य दो प्रकार है एक बचत खाता (savings account) और दूसरा चालू खाता  (current account)। खाता धारको को बैंक के द्वारा एटीएम कार्ड दिया जाता है । जिसकी मदत से व्यक्ति अपने खाते से पैसे  एटीएम मशीन द्वारा निकाल सकता है ।

एटीएम मशीन पुरे सप्ताह खुला रहता है जबकि बैंक पुरे सप्ताह खुला नहीं रहता है । एटीएम मशीन के आने से पैसे निकालने में काफी आसानी हो गयी है । बैंक समाज का बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण अंग है । बैंक लोगो को पैसे उधार भी देता है जिसे हम लोन कहते है । लोन की रकम व्यक्ति के योग्यता के ऊपर निर्भर करता है । व्यक्ति की योग्यता इस बात पर निर्भर करता है की वह लोन को चूका पायेगा या नहीं । तो हमें बैंक से उतना ही लोन लेना चाहिए जितना हम चूका सके ।

Bank क्या है ? जब भी हमारे मन में पैसों की बात आती है तब हमारे सामने Bank का चित्र जरुर आता है. एक ऐसा जगह जहाँ की आपको लाखों करोड़ों में पैसे एक ही स्थान में देखने को मिलेंगे. अब सवाल उठता है की असल में ये Banks क्या होते हैं?

आसान भाषा में कहें तो Bank एक ऐसा intermediary होता है saver (बचत करने वाला) और borrower (उधार लेने वाला) के बीच. यहाँ पर लोग या तो पैसा रखने आते हैं या फिर पैसे लेने आते हैं।

एक समय था जब पैसों का कोई भी कार्य हो चाहे पैसे deposit (भर्ती) करना हो या फिर पैसे withdraw (निकलना) करना हो, सभी काम के लिए हमें bank जाना पड़ता था. वहीँ banks में हमें बड़ी लम्बी लम्बी कतारों में खड़ा होकर अपने अवसर का wait करना पड़ता था।

बैंक क्या है – What is Bank in Hindi

एक बैंक एक संस्था है जो वित्तीय सेवाएं प्रदान करती है, जैसे जमा स्वीकार करना, ऋण देना और निवेश सलाह प्रदान करना। एक बैंक एक प्रकार का वित्तीय संस्थान है और “वित्तीय मध्यस्थ” की श्रेणी में आता है।

बैंक जो सबसे महत्वपूर्ण सेवाएं प्रदान करते हैं उनमें से कुछ जमा लेना, ऋण लेना और निवेश सलाह प्रदान करना है।

Oxford Dictionary के अनुसार एक bank होता है “ एक ऐसा establishment पैसे प्रदान करने का, जो की अपने consumers को pay करता है जब वो उसके लिए अर्जी करें. “

चलिए अब Bank के कुछ characteristics के विषय में जानते हैं।

• ये या तो Individual या फिर Firm या कोई Company हो सकती है.
• यह एक profit और service oriented institution होता है.
• यह एक connecting link के तोर पर काम करता है borrowers और lenders के बीच में.
• ये पैसों का कारबार करता है.
• यह public से deposit accept करता है.
• यह Customers को Advances/Loans/Credit प्रदान करता है.
• यह Payment और Withdrawal facilities भी प्रदान करता है.
• साथ में ये Agency और Utility Services भी प्रदान करता है.

बैंक की वर्गीकरण

प्रत्येक देश में कई प्रकार के banks होते हैं. वहीँ हर प्रकार का बैंक कुछ certain functions करते हैं. Banks को classify किया जाता है उनके functions के हिसाब से।

Banks को मुख्य रूप से classify किया जाता है scheduled और non-scheduled banks के रूप में।

Scheduled banks को फिर classify किया जाता है commercial banks और cooperative banks के रूप में।

वहीँ Commercial Banks को फिर classify किया जाता है public sector banks, private sector banks, foreign banks और Regional Rural Banks (RRB) के रूप में।

वहीँ cooperative banks को classify किया जाता है urban और rural में. वहीँ इसे छोड़कर भी अभी Payments Bank का concept बड़ा ही popular हो रहा है अभी के समय में।

बैंक के प्रकार (Types of Banks in Hindi)

बैंक बहुत प्रकार के होते है. बिभिन्न कामो के लिए अलग अलग बैंक बनाया गया है. चलिए सभी बैंक के बारे में जानते है।

Scheduled Banks

Schedules banks को cover किया गया है Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934 के 2nd Schedule के अंतर्गत. एक ऐसा bank जिसके पास paid-up capital करीब 5 Lakh या उससे अधिक का होता है. ऐसे bank ही Schedule Bank Category के अंतर्गत आने के लिए qualify होते हैं. ये banks eligible होते हैं loan लेने के लिए RBI से वो भी bank rate में।

Commercial Banks

Commercial Banks को regulate किया जाता है Banking Regulation Act, 1949 के अंतर्गत. वहीँ इनका business model ही design किया गया होता है profit बनाने के लिए।

इनका primary function होता है deposits को accept करना और general public को loans प्रदान करना, corporates और government।

वहीँ Commercial banks को divide किया जाता है –

• Public sector banks
• Private sector banks
• Foreign banks
• Regional Rural Banks (RRB)

Public Sector Banks

ये असल में nationalised banks होते हैं और हमारे देश के करीब 75% से भी ज्यादा banking business के लिए उत्तरदायी होते हैं।

इन banks में Majority of stakes सरकार द्वारा ही साझा किया जाता है. Volumes के terms में, SBI भारत का सबसे बड़ा public sector bank है. ये तब हुआ जब इसमें इसकी 5 associate banks शामिल हुई. वहीँ पुरे विस्व में भी इसकी position top 50 banks के अंतर्गत आता है।

भारत में total 21 nationalised banks स्तिथ हैं पुरे देश भर में।

Private Sector Banks

इनके अंतर्गत ऐसे banks आते हैं जिनमें major stake या equity धारण करते हैं private shareholders. सभी banking rules और regulations जो की RBI द्वारा तय किये जाते हैं वो सभी applicable होते हैं इन private sector banks में भी।

Foreign Banks

एक foreign bank उसे कहते हैं जिसकी headquarters दूर विदेश में स्तिथ होता है लेकिन ये भारत में एक private entity के तोर पर operate हो रहा होता है।

इन banks को दोनों ही देशों के rules को पालन करना होता है एक जहाँ से operate कर रहे हैं और दूसरा जहाँ इनकी headquartes स्तिथ होती है।

उदाहरण के लिए Citi Bank, Standard Chartered Bank और HSBC भारत के कुछ leading foreign banks हैं।

Regional Rural Banks

ये भी scheduled commercial banks ही होते हैं लेकिन इन्हें establish किया गया होता है ये main objective लेकर की Society के कमजोर वर्ग को ये लोन प्रदान करें जैसे की किसान, श्रमिक और छोटे enterprises इत्यादि को।

ये operate होते हैं regional levels में अलग अलग राज्यों में भारत के. वहीँ इनकी ज्यादातर branches को selected urban areas में रखा गया होता है।

दुसरे महत्वपूर्ण functions जिन्हें की RRBs द्वारा किया जाता है

• Rural और Semi-urban areas में banking और financial services प्रदान करना.
• Government की operations जैसे की MGNREGA श्रमिकों को वेतन प्रदान करना, employees को pension प्रदान करना.
• Para-Banking facilities जैसे की debit cards, credit cards और locker facilities.

Small Finance Banks

यह एक niche banking segment होती है देश में. वहीँ इसका मुख्य लक्ष्य होता है समाज की ऐसे वर्ग को financial inclusion प्रदान करना जिन्हें की banks serve नहीं करती है।

इन small finance banks के मैं customers होते हैं micro industries, small और marginal farmers, unorganized sector entities और small business units. इन्हें license किया गया है under Section 22 Banking Regulation Act, 1949 के और इन्हें govern किया जाता है RBI Act, 1934 और FEMA के अंतर्गत।

Co-operative Banks

Co-operative banks को register किया गया होता है Cooperative Societies Act, 1912 के अंतर्गत. वहीँ इसे चलाया जाता है चुने हुए managing committee के द्वारा।

ये काम करते हैं no-profit no-loss basis पर और मुख्यरूप से serve करते हैं entrepreneurs, small businesses, industries और self-employment को urban areas में।

वहीँ rural areas में, ये mainly finance करते हैं agriculture-based activities जैसे की कृषि, livestock और hatcheries को।

Payments Bank

पेमेंट्स बैंक एक बहुत ही नया model है bank का Indian Banking industry में. इसे conceptualized किया गया है RBI के द्वारा और ये allow करता है एक restricted deposit को accept करना।

वहीँ इसकी amount को currently limit किया गया है Rs. 1 Lakh per customer तक ही. वहीँ ये offer करता है services जैसे की ATM cards, debit cards, net-banking और mobile-banking।

Commercial banks ऐसे banks होते हैं जो की पैसे accept करते हैं deposits के तोर पर public से और loans एवं advances प्रदान करते हैं इनके customers को साथ में charge करते हैं interest भी।

ये mobilize करते हैं small savings को और promote करते हैं growth को trade और commerce के. Generally, commercial banks पैसे प्रदान करते हैं बहुत ही कम समय के लिए. वहीँ ये केवल प्रदान करते हैं working capital organizations को ही. लेकिन अभी के समय में commercial banks प्रदान कर रहे हैं long-term capital दुसरे organizations को भी।

Exchange Banks

ये banks का मुख्य काम होता है Foreign currencies की Buying और selling करना और साथ में foreign bills of exchange भी accept करना।

Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) क्या हैं?

RBI के हिसाब से यह एक financial institution जो की एक company है और एक non-banking institution भी है, जिसकी principal business है की deposits receive करना अलग अलग schemes के अंतर्गत और arrangement या lending करना किसी दुसरे माईने में।

इसे classify किया जाता है: Merchant Banks, Commercial Banks, Indigenous Banks में।

Banks के Features क्या होते हैं?

चलिए अब Banks के features के विषय में जानते हैं।

1. पैसों के साथ deal करना

Bank एक ऐसा financial institution होता है जो की दुसरे लोगों के पैसों के साथ ही deal करता है i.e. Depositors के पैसे।

2. या तो Individual / Firm / Company होना

एक bank या तो person, firm या एक company भी हो सकता है. एक banking company का मतलब है एक ऐसा company जो की banking business में कार्यरत है।

3. Deposit को Accept करना

एक bank लोगों से पैसे accept करता है deposits के form में जिन्हें की अक्सर repay किया जाता है demand करने पर या उसके fixed period के expiry हो जाने के बाद (Fixed Deposit के case में). यह customers को उनके deposits के ऊपर safety प्रदान करती है. वहीँ यह एक custodian की role अदा करती है अपने customers के funds की।

4. आपको Loans प्रदान करती है

एक bank आपको पैसे प्रदान करता है loans के आकार में जिन्हें की आप अपने जरुरत के जगह में इस्तमाल कर सकें।

5. Payment और Withdrawal

एक bank easy payment और withdrawal facility प्रदान करता है अपने customers को cheques और drafts के रूप में. वहीँ ये bank money को circulation में ले भी आता है. ये पैसे होती है cheques, drafts के form में।

6. Agency और Utility Services

एक bank प्रदान करता है बहुत सी प्रकार की banking facilities अपने customers को. इसके अंतर्गत आते हैं general utility services और agency services।

7. Profit और Service Orientation

Bank एक profit कमाने वाला institution होता है जो की service oriented approach से काम करता है।

8. इसकी Functions हमेशा बढ़ते ही रहते हैं

Banking एक evolutionary concept है. इसका मतलब की इसकी हमेशा से continuous expansion और diversification होती रहती है, इसके functions, services और activities के तोर पर।

9. Connecting Link का होना

एक bank अपने नाम के साथ हमेशा “bank” शब्द का इस्तमाल करना चाहिए जिससे सभी लोगों को ये पता चल सके की यह एक bank है जो की पैसों का dealing करता है।

बैंक के कार्य

वैसे तो Banks कई सारे Functions या बैंक के कार्य हैं लेकिन उनमें से कुछ बहुत ही प्रमुख हैं. इन्ही Functions को दो वर्गों में बांटा गया होता है।

• Bank के Primary Functions
• Bank के Secondary Functions

Primary Functions of a Bank in Hindi

अब इन primary functions को भी दो हिस्सों में बांटा गया होता है :

1. जमा करना (Saving/ Fixed/ Current Deposit)

Deposits वो पैसों का amount होते हैं जिसे की एक customer बैंक को hands over करता है. इसे deposit करना भी कहा जाता है।

Deposits के भी कुछ प्रकार होते हैं

• Saving Deposit
• Fixed Deposit
• Current Deposit
• Recurrent Deposit.

वहीँ अलग अलग प्रकार का deposit schemes आधारित होते हैं Deposit के type और depositing frequency के ऊपर।

उदाहरण के लिए, एक fixed deposit में एक definite sum को bank को प्रदान किया जाता है कुछ वर्षों के लिए. ये interest केवल तभी compounded होता है जब deposit term पूरी तरह से पूर्ण हो।

इस प्रकार की deposit services प्रदान करना एक बहुत ही primary function होता है किसी एक bank का. तो क्या होता है अगर आपको पैसों की जरुरत होती है? ऐसे में क्या कोई दूसरी primary function नहीं होनी चाहिए bank की? चलिए आगे जानते हैं।

एक saving deposit में, amount और rate of interest काफी low होते हैं. यहाँ पर Withdrawals करना allowed है लेकिन वो भी एक limited number में. यह account सबसे ज्यादा उपयुक्त होता है उन लोगों के लिए जो की कहीं पर काम कर रहे होते हैं और उनकी income salary से आती है।

वहीँ, fixed deposit एक fixed sum होती है जो की consumer bank को प्रदान करता है एक fixed time के लिए. इसमें withdrawals करना allowed नहीं हैं उस fixed time से पहले करना।

वहीँ दुसरे शब्दों में, current account या deposit में, कोई भी interest प्रदान नहीं किया जाता है, और इसमें customer जितनी बार चाहे उतनी बार पैसे निकाल सकता है और deposit भी कर सकता है. अब चलिए दुसरे function के तरफ नज़र डालते हैं :

इसमें bank दुसरे लोगों को पैसे देता है एक time-interest basis पर. यहाँ पर प्रत्येक loan amount को pass किया जाता है bank के द्वारा बहुत कुछ consideration करने के बाद और साथ में bank की profit को secure करने के उपरांत ही।

वहीँ bank अपने customers को advances भी प्रदान करता है. ये सभी बैंक्स के primary functions हो होते हैं. वहीँ bank प्रदान करते हैं services जैसे की overdraft, cash credits, loans, और discounting करना bill of exchange पर।

वहीँ चलिए अब banks के secondary functions के ऊपर गौर करते हैं।

Secondary Functions of a bank in Hindi

ये सभी functions बैंक के secondary functions होते हैं।

2. सामान्य उपयोगिता कार्य

Bank बहुत से utility functions भी करते हैं. कुछ सबसे महत्वपूर्ण utility functions हैं, drafts को issue करना, letter of credits, locker की facility प्रदान करना, underwriting करना shares की, foreign exchange से deal करना, project reports, social welfare programs चलाना, और दुसरे utility functions।
