Table of Contents

As you probably know, there are more than one type of wedding.

Here are some of the most popular types you can include in your stories.

Traditional Wedding

A traditional wedding is steeped in customs and rituals that have been passed down through generations

These weddings often take place in religious settings, with formal attire and a solemn atmosphere. The bride walks down the aisle accompanied by her father, while the groom waits at the altar.

Vows are exchanged, rings are placed on fingers, and the couple shares their first kiss as married partners.

Beach Wedding

Imagine saying “I do” with toes buried in the warm sand and waves crashing gently in the background.

A beach wedding is casual yet breathtakingly beautiful. Delicate seashell decorations line an arch under which the newlyweds stand for their vows. Sun-kissed guests can enjoy a relaxed celebration adorned with tropical flowers and soft music floating through the salty air.

Garden Wedding

In a garden wedding, nature becomes an enchanting backdrop for love to unfold.

Surrounded by blooming flowers and lush greenery, couples exchange vows under an elaborately decorated archway or rose-covered gazebo. The natural serenity of chirping birds adds charm to this intimate affair as guests bask in a whimsical atmosphere created by twinkling fairy lights strung between trees.

Destination Wedding

Destination weddings are celebrations held in a location away from the couple’s hometown, often in exotic or scenic places.

They offer a unique opportunity for couples to exchange vows in a memorable setting, from historic European castles to tropical Caribbean beaches. These weddings can also provide an exciting travel experience for guests.

Cultural Wedding

Cultural weddings celebrate the unique traditions and customs of a couple’s heritage.

These ceremonies are often rich in rituals that honor the couple’s cultural background, whether it be an Asian, African, Middle Eastern, or another heritage. Cultural weddings are a beautiful display of heritage, often featuring traditional attire, music, and ceremonies.

Modern Wedding

Modern weddings break away from traditional norms and often incorporate contemporary elements.

They may feature non-traditional venues, personalized vows, and modern decor. Technology, unique themes, and a more relaxed approach to planning characterize these weddings. Modern weddings reflect the couple’s personality and contemporary lifestyle.

Vintage Wedding

Vintage weddings are inspired by elements from a specific era in the past, like the Roaring Twenties or the Victorian period.

These weddings often feature antique-style decor, classic vehicles, and attire that reflects the chosen time period. Vintage weddings are perfect for couples who appreciate the charm and elegance of bygone eras.

Rustic Wedding

Rustic weddings are characterized by their natural, simple, and countryside-inspired elements.

They often take place in rural settings like barns, farms, or vineyards.

Decor includes natural textures like wood and burlap, and the ambiance is cozy and down-to-earth, reflecting a love for the rustic, outdoor charm.

Eco-Friendly Wedding

Eco-friendly weddings focus on sustainability and minimizing the environmental impact of the celebration.

These weddings use eco-conscious materials, local and organic food, and natural decor. Eco-friendly weddings are perfect for environmentally conscious couples who want to celebrate their love while respecting nature.

An elopement is a small, intimate wedding, often involving only the couple, a witness, and an officiant.

Elopements focus on the couple’s commitment without the extensive planning or guest list of a traditional wedding.

They can be spontaneous or planned and often occur in unique or meaningful locations to the couple.

How to Describe Traditional Weddings

Let’s start with how to describe the most common type of wedding.

Elements of Traditional Weddings

Traditional weddings are steeped in rich cultural and religious customs, each with their own unique elements.

These ceremonies often begin with a formal procession, where the bride is escorted down the aisle by her father or another significant family member.

The guests eagerly await her arrival, standing respectfully as she walks towards the altar.

Once at the altar, traditional weddings typically include a heartfelt exchange of vows between the bride and groom.

This deeply personal moment allows them to publicly declare their commitment and love for one another.

Following this emotional exchange, rings are exchanged as symbols of eternal unity and devotion.

After the exchange of rings comes one of the most iconic moments in a traditional wedding: the first kiss as a married couple.

This simple gesture signifies not only their union but also serves as an expression of love and affection witnessed by all those present.

Cultural Customs

Beyond these universal traditions, many cultural nuances can be observed at traditional weddings.

From vibrant Indian ceremonies filled with colorful attire and intricate rituals to elegant Chinese tea ceremonies symbolizing respect for elders – there is no shortage of diversity in how unions are celebrated around the world.

Some cultures emphasize specific customs such as breaking glass (a Jewish tradition) or exchanging leis (a Hawaiian custom), adding depth and meaning to these once-in-a-lifetime events.

Regardless of location or religion, traditional weddings consistently offer moments that celebrate love while showcasing individuality through various cultural practices.

Steps to Write a Breathtaking Wedding Essay

essay about a beautiful wedding

Let’s state the obvious fact by saying that a breathtaking wedding essay comes from the heart. You can always tell if people really mean what they are writing about. Therefore, the very first tips would be to listen to your heart. By focusing on genuine emotions, unique details, and your connection to the couple, you’ll craft a masterpiece that celebrates their love and leaves a lasting impression on everyone present.

Giving advice is definitely easier than actually writing an essay. Sometimes, it seems impossible to express all the warm and genuine emotions through words. No words seem to be enough. You always have the option to look for experienced essay writers for hire to help you. They will help you organize your thoughts and present them in an engaging and heart-warming way. Here are some more tips on writing an amazing wedding essay to guide you in the right direction.

Finding Your Story

A successful preparation process is already half of the triumph. Take enough time to decide what you are willing to write about before you get to the writing itself.

  • Define the essay goal. Is it a toast, a letter to the couple, a reflection on your relationship with them? Knowing the purpose guides your focus. Also, think about the emotion you want to create with your literary piece. It will help you find the perfect structure and choose the right words.
  • Uncover your narrative arc. When crafting a story about a couple, it’s important to choose a specific theme or event to create a cohesive beginning, middle, and end. Otherwise, there is a possibility of writing about everything and anything, leaving the audience puzzled about your main message.
  • Gather memories. Dig through photos, texts, emails, and conversations to rekindle vivid details and emotions. It might be interesting to incorporate the exact words used by the future bride or groom to describe each other.
  • Identify unique moments. Focus on anecdotes that reveal the couple’s personalities, their bond, and how their love has touched you. Prepare several of them to decide which fits your narrative best later on.

Crafting the Essay

Now that you have every little thing ready, it’s time to move on to the writing process. These recommendations will help you attract the attention of the audience and impress them with your exquisite writing style.

  • Make them interested in what you have to say. Start with a strong opening line that grabs attention and sets the emotional tone. In the case of using the essay as a toast, such a beginning guarantees that people will stop doing whatever they are doing and start listening to you.
  • Take brushes and start painting with words. Paint vivid pictures with sensory details and evocative language. Bring the scene and emotions to life. You aim to create a clear image of something you are describing in other people’s minds.
  • Balance humor and heartfelt. A well-placed joke can make your essay shine, but ensure it complements the overall sentiment. After all, it is not a stand-up comedy night but the most romantic event in the lives of the couple.
  • Highlight shared journeys. Don’t just recount events, explore their significance and how they shaped the couple’s relationship. You are free to increase the level of romance by describing how their life paths intersect at one point.
  • Weave in personality. Use quotes, inside jokes, or specific quirks to make the essay uniquely theirs. Even though you might be reading it out loud in front of other guests, you can include the inside jokes that only the couple will understand.

Polishing Your Gem

essay about a beautiful wedding

  • Structure with care. Organize your thoughts chronologically, thematically, or through a series of vignettes. Ensure a smooth flow. Try not to turn your essay into a collection of random facts. Even though all these facts can be fun and exciting, you will not create a wholesome picture for the readers.
  • Read aloud, edit carefully. Listen for awkward phrasing, repetitive words, and ensure clarity and emotional impact. You can use tools like Grammarly to polish your piece. Nevertheless, try to stay objective. Throwing all of your drafts into the garbage bin is not an effective approach.
  • Seek feedback. If you can’t decide whether your essay is well-written and has everything it should, ask for a second opinion. Get trusted friends or family to offer constructive criticism on flow, content, and emotional resonance.
  • Embrace your voice. Even though it is a good idea to look through some wedding essays for inspiration, don’t copy others. You are welcome to borrow some interesting writing techniques if you wish, though. Let your genuine affection and unique perspective shine through.
  • Practice delivery. If you’re delivering the essay, rehearse beforehand to overcome nerves and project your emotions effectively. Sometimes reading in front of others something so touching and personal can be even more challenging than writing it.

Even experienced writers often struggle with conclusions. What way is the best to finish your essay? Consider concluding it with a powerful statement, touching quote, or heartfelt wish that solidifies the essay’s emotional impact. If you lack your own words to create a strong final statement, look through some famous quotes that might fit the topic of your piece. Remember that you can unleash your creativity and write everything that you believe the couple will appreciate.

Introduction

I have gone through various captivating episodes in my life but I do not think that there is any one that beats my wedding day. A wedding is a celebration that brings pleasure and joy to everyone involved including the family members and friends. My wedding took place on18 May, 2010. It was a delightful day and was characterized by the occasional peeking of the May sun. A cool breeze rustled in the atmosphere from the west giving a cooling effect to the wedding’s invitees as each took a seat on the gazebo walk’s on either side.

Cool classical music played in the background and I could not believe that I was finally getting married to the love of my life, Steven. What a memorable day it would turn out to be! Streamers and balloons fluttered in enclosed railings with the vibrant red, green, and blue colors radiating throughout the premises. Rows of luxurious cars stood parked on the far side of the venue’s left and the overhead sun made them glitter.

As I sat in the dressing room with the make up artist putting the final touches on my face, I could not stop thinking about how everything looked lovely and perfect. When she was through, I stood up and hugged her. I said to her, “I owe it to you for making me look so pretty on a day when I would like to look the best.” She smiled at me lovingly and gave me my bouquet of flowers. I headed towards where the groom and the entire audience were waiting. I clutched tightly to my dad’s hand as we slowly walked down the path leading to the gazebo. The background music started to fade slowly and was replaced by bridal choruses as heads abruptly turned towards the aisle’s far end where I was making my entrance. At the far end stood Steven, the best man, Geoffrey and the bishop who was to solemnize the wedding ceremony. As I slowly walked towards him, I could not help but grin widely at my soon to be husband. He had never looked so handsome in a black suit and I was simply blown away. I wore a white wedding gown that was strapless and my bodice was covered with embroidery. The gown was also sewn with pearl beads and rhinestones. In addition, I wore a golden veil with a matching headpiece. In my hand was the silk bouquet of French roses.

As we reached the last step of the walk, my dad who had been holding my hand the entire time let go and said o me, “You will always be my little girl and my love for you keeps growing each day.” This almost made me teary-eyed and I kissed him and stepped onto the gazebo. Steven gave me a stunning and reassuring smile and whispered to me about how beautiful I looked. I blushed and complemented him likewise. The bishop took the microphone and the ceremony officially commenced. He smiled at the audience as he made the opening remarks and welcomed everybody to the ceremony. The sound system had been very good and everything said was clearly audible to all who were present. The bishop conducted the opening prayer and all this time I could not wait to say “I do”.

After the ending of the prayer, the bishop then proceeded to the next step of leading us through our vows. My little nine-year-old cousin Johnnie who was holding the rings came over and handed them to Steven. As he placed the ring on my finger and uttered the magic words ‘I do’, I was still unable to comprehend how I had managed to land up with such a handsome gentleman as my husband. I took the other ring and put it on his finger as my love for him and also said ‘I do’. After exchanging the vows, the bishop then declared us as husband and wife. We then shared a passionate kiss as the entire audience applauded loudly with claps and cheers.

The solemnization of the wedding was followed by a popular Christian hymn ‘O Perfect Love’ and as the congregation sang it, I felt goose bumps all over my body. While everyone was singing the hymn, Steven held my hand once again and whispered to me “You have made this day so special for me and I can’t wait to see how our life together will be like. I love you!” It was a dream come true for me to be blessed with a life partner like Steven who’s not only a thorough gentleman but man immensely loving and caring person. He belongs to a close-knit family and is grounded in both family and Christian values. He treats me like the most special person in his life and I really believe no other man could have loved me so much. The bishop presented us our marriage certificate and prepared us to walk down the aisle. My chin went up and I felt so proud holding Steven. As we walked down the gazebo hand in hand, the bridesmaids and groomsmen followed suit and music took over once again. Everyone’s eyes were fixed on us and we received such admiration that I was absolutely carried away. There were many hugs and kisses as everyone congratulated my groom and me and wished us all the best for our married life.

Our families were so happy that the wedding solemnization ceremony went well and ending on time. My parents had planned a great reception for us and invited many guests. It was held in a lush green lawn with tons of flowers and balloons. The color scheme was decided by my mother and it was a mesmerizing combination of white and lavender purple. My cousins and friend together had planned a lot of things for the reception. They had games and an elaborate introduction of the families. The introduction was the most entertaining and hilarious part of the whole reception as my cousins mimicked all the members of the family and then we had to guess who they were introducing. Everyone laughed their hearts out and thoroughly enjoyed it.

After all the guests met us and blessed us with their good wishes my father announced our first dance. I was shy yet at the same time I was looking forward to it. Steven held my hand and took me slowly and gently to the dancing floor. He went down on his knees and in front of everyone asked me “May I have the pleasure of dancing with my wife?” I was so taken up by his loving gesture that I blushed even more than before. We had a beautiful dance and soon the dancing floor was filled by all the guests.

Weddings Essay Conclusion

It was so much fun and frolic at the reception party, including the cake cutting ceremony. We had a beautiful 5 tier cake with the same color scheme and I received a beautiful surprise by Steven’s mother. She presented me a beautiful pair of diamond ear rings at the cake cutting ceremony and gave me a huge hug. It was arguably the best day of my life and although it took place about two years ago, I still remember it like it was yesterday. Our love has grown so much in the last two years and Steven still continues to pamper and love me with all his heart.

A Memorable Wedding Narrative Essay

A Memorable Wedding Narrative Essay

A Memorable Wedding Things do not always go according to plan. The larger the occasion, the more time you commit towards it so people will remember how great it was. No matter how detailed or important your plan, fate finds it funny to meddle. One of the most important moments that people plan for is their wedding day. There is one wedding in particular that stands out in my memory, not for the plans, but for the surprises that made the wedding such a spectacular event. The most important part of the wedding day is the ceremony.

This particular ceremony was quite extravagant. However, I cannot recall every minuscule detail such as what color the candles were. The things that I do remember are the things that were not part of the wedding plans. For instance, when the bride walked into the room to the melody, “Here Comes the Bride,” not a soul stood up. I attribute my disrespect to my lack of wedding attendance. It was an awkward moment. We were sitting there in a sort of dazed stupor while she was cautiously creeping down the isle. Minutes passed with us left in the awkward doldrums of the wedding.

ready to help you now

Without paying upfront

We were awaked from our social ignorance by the voice of a loving groom who wanted his future wife to be respected on their wedding day. Every one clamored to their feet making a noise like that of a buffalo stampede. The wedding went on without any other mishaps and surprises. We gathered to help celebrate the newly weds at their reception. It was a small ordeal. After the guests had their fill of appetizers and entrees, they began to meander about the room conversing with each other. There was a large dance floor in the center of the room where the life of the party was meant to be.

Time passed and people began to wonder when the couple was going to take their first dance. We did not realize however, that the party DJ never showed up. Suddenly, all five groomsmen blew into the room with drums, microphones, and guitars in tow. The groom took the stage with them and they began to play a slow love ballad and the groom sang to his new wife. Halfway through the song, he got off the stage and danced with her. They danced like a white graceful dove and a clumsy tuxedo clad penguin, which was expected from the eloquent ballerina and the oafish rugby player.

The party began to wind down and guests began to leave in order to put their kids to bed. Some stuck around to see the new couple leave to prepare for their honeymoon which started in the morning. Only the bride, groom, bridesmaids, best man, and family members remained. Then, the maid of honor got the call from the limo service, which was supposed to be the white carriage for the husband and wife. It was not going to be possible for the limo to come for reasons unknown, so the wedding party sprung into action. The bridesmaids consoled the bride and the best man discussed options with the groom to make alternate plans.

Twenty minutes later, the father of the bride arrived in an Italian sports car that was going to replace the limo. It was the better replacement that we were searching for. The lovebirds roared away in what was a fitting end to a unique wedding. I have firsthand experience with observing plans go awry. We cannot plan for the unexpected and we cannot be sure of what others are going to do, but when things do not turn out as expected, it seems to be leave a more lasting memory. Whenever fate decides to step in, great things begin to happen. The things I remember are the unique and personal not the planned and canny.a

Another concept in marriage is problem-solving where it is important to realize that you can live on your own every day. Thus, it is important to find solutions to some misunderstandings together. This is one of the essential parts of a marriage. Communication also plays a huge role in marriage. Thus, the couple should act friends, in fact, be,t friends. There should be no secret between the couple and no one should hide anything. So, both persons should do what they feel comfortable. It is not necessary to think that marriage is difficult and thus it makes you feel busy and unhappy all the time.

Marriage is like a huge painting where you brush your movements and create your own love story.

I Attended A Wedding Ceremony Paragraph

Table of Contents:

A wedding ceremony is a happy event where a man and a woman begin their married life. It is a significant social and cultural event in addition to being a necessary obligation. In order to assist students in writing their own, we have provided examples of a 400-word essay on a wedding ceremony, a 300-word composition on the experience of attending a wedding, and a 200-word paragraph on the same subject.

An elaborate wedding ceremony is organized in Bangladesh. Everybody in this country, regardless of wealth, wants to plan a festive wedding ceremony. In this nation, people spend a lot of money on lighting and decorations for wedding ceremonies. Such a ceremony would also be incomplete without a lavish feast.

I recently went to one of my friends’ weddings. He had sent me a card inviting me to attend the ceremony about a week before it took place. The ceremony was scheduled for Friday, April 20, 2002, at 7 p.m. I arrived on time at the wedding location on the scheduled day. The groom had already reached the location. The community center was beautifully lit and decorated in great detail. I brought the couple some flowers and additional presents. I first greeted the bridegroom and had a polite conversation with him. He had a happy disposition. Many people were already seated inside the community center. We were waiting for the bride to arrive. The bride and some of her friends and family arrived in a car after about 30 minutes. The ceremony’s first phase was solemnization. A moulavi, or religious leader of Islam, performed the marriage ceremony. The local mosque’s imam was him. He inquired about the bride and the groom’s agreement to the union. The bride and the groom both gave their approval. They were pronounced husband and wife by the Moulavi. Kazi and the marriage registry official then arrived. He noted the information about the bride, the groom, their parents, and the witnesses. Then he gathered the signatures of the bride, the groom, the witnesses, and any other pertinent parties. So, the registration requirements were completed. I provided my information and signed the marriage document as one of the witnesses. We then went to the feast. For the bridegroom and his friends, special provisions were made during the feast. I walked with the groom. There were a lot of delicious dishes. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Then, one by one, the guests started to depart from the feast. Also ready to leave the venue with the bride in a car that has been decorated for the occasion is the groom. I waved goodbye before departing.

What is the best way to describe a wedding I attended in a composition?

I once went to a wedding. I dressed to the nines and went with my family to the bride’s house, where the “bersanding” ceremony took place. The garden was illuminated with beautiful colored lights. There were blooms everywhere, and guests were mingling.

Two elegantly adorned chairs for the bridal couple, each with two velvet cushions, were placed on a dais in front of the ballroom. At approximately 7:00 p.m., a group of “kompang” beat their “kompangs” and entered the garden. With his retinue of young men, the bridegroom arrived next and took his place on the dais while wearing a blue “kain songket” and appearing to be a Malay prince. Later, the bride arrived looking stunning while wearing a blue “songket kebaya” and “sarung”. In the light, her jewelry glistened. Flowers with a sweet scent and “bunga goyang,” which was clearly glistening, were in her hair. She sat next to the bridegroom and had a princess-like appearance.

After the ‘kadi’ had finished his prayers, everyone was prepared for the ‘kenduri’. All the traditional dishes, including “beriyani,” “kurma,” “dalcha,” salad, and “rendang,” were served at the dinner. Each guest received a “bunga telur” after a decadent dessert. It was an egg in a tiny basket that had been decorated and had flowers on top of it. Throughout the celebration, Malay music was played, and cultural performances kept the audience entertained.

The time had come to return home. We had a filling meal, blessed the happy couple, and were getting ready to leave when it was time.

What adjective best describes a lovely wedding ceremony?

Get Rid of “Gorgeous” and Replace It With These 14 Words To Describe Brides RADIANT. Light emanating from within is the essence of radiant beauty. dot. DAZZLING. A quality that is almost blindingly bright is called dazzling. dot. BREATHTAKING. dot. GLAMOROUS. dot. ELEGANT. dot. JAW-DROPPING. dot. STUNNING. dot. GLOWING.

Precision of language is important, whether you’re writing a high-profile news article for the New York Times or a blog post about a small courthouse wedding. While there are many ways to say the same thing, there are only a very few ways that paint a perfect picture of a moment.

Especially for well-seasoned wedding photographers, finding new ways to describe your 467th bride on her wedding day can be one of the most challenging hurdles to jump, leading many photographers to skip the writing process entirely. Among those who do manage to complete the post, many end up with a formulaic 150-word description of the day that is absolutely littered with tired adjectives, the leading choice among them being “gorgeous.”.

I completely comprehend why the word “gorgeous” has such devoted supporters.

Wedding etiquette in the South is nothing to be messed with. It starts the moment we say “yes,” and it ends well after we say “I do.the moment we say “yes,” and it ends well after we say “I do.” And bet your britches we don’t miss a beat, lest those familiar with the Emily Post Institute take note.

To be fair, wedding etiquette isn’t just one-sided. Sure, brides have their own overwhelming set of rules to follow, things like when to send thank-you notes and how much to tip wedding vendors. But guests are also fraught with wedding worries. We’re jolted awake at night in a cold sweat, thinking, “Did I send the RSVP in time?” or “But what if someone else gives the steak knives?”.

And when it comes to something even as simple as sending a wedding card (which, to be clear, is best sent before the wedding, much like gifts), even the content is taken quite seriously. For example, it was once taboo to say or write “Congratulations” to the bride. This is because it implied she was lucky to have found a husband at all. But it’s perfectly fine to say it to the groom. Hmph. (But he is the lucky one, we joke.)

The 2021 wedding season is mostly drawing to an end. Making connections. Can you give me three words to best describe your wedding? Here are a few examples from this season’s wedding couples: Colorful, Informal, and Overdue! Intimate, loving, and multinational. Joy, love & laughter. Food, family, and love. Summer: relaxed and fun. When you say it out loud (gooorrrrgeous), it conveys a certain over-the-top beauty that few other words capture. However, when it’s repeated five times throughout a post to describe everything from the bride’s lipstick to the silverware, it loses nearly all meaning. Trust me, I know that photographers love their brides to pieces, and the last thing you want to do is frame your wedding day images in trite language that equates the face of the bride to a spoon.

Essays About Beauty: Top 5 Examples and 10 Prompts

Writing essays about beauty is complicated because of this topic’s breadth. See our examples and prompts to you write your next essay.

Beauty is short for beautiful and refers to the features that make something pleasant to look at. This includes landscapes like mountain ranges and plains, natural phenomena like sunsets and aurora borealis, and art pieces such as paintings and sculptures. However, beauty is commonly attached to an individual’s appearance,  fashion, or cosmetics style, which appeals to aesthetical concepts. Because people’s views and ideas about beauty constantly change , there are always new things to know and talk about.

Below are five great essays that define beauty differently. Consider these examples as inspiration to come up with a topic to write about.

1. Essay On Beauty – Promise Of Happiness By Shivi Rawat

2. defining beauty by wilbert houston, 3. long essay on beauty definition by prasanna, 4. creative writing: beauty essay by writer jill, 5. modern idea of beauty by anonymous on papersowl, 1. what is beauty: an argumentative essay, 2. the beauty around us, 3. children and beauty pageants, 4. beauty and social media, 5. beauty products and treatments: pros and cons, 6. men and makeup, 7. beauty and botched cosmetic surgeries, 8. is beauty a necessity, 9. physical and inner beauty, 10. review of books or films about beauty.

“In short, appreciation of beauty is a key factor in the achievement of happiness, adds a zest to living positively and makes the earth a more cheerful place to live in.”

Rawat defines beauty through the words of famous authors, ancient sayings, and historical personalities. He believes that beauty depends on the one who perceives it. What others perceive as beautiful may be different for others. Rawat adds that beauty makes people excited about being alive.

“No one’s definition of beauty is wrong. However, it does exist and can be seen with the eyes and felt with the heart.”

Houston’s essay starts with the author pointing out that some people see beauty and think it’s unattainable and non-existent. Next, he considers how beauty’s definition is ever-changing and versatile. In the next section of his piece, he discusses individuals’ varying opinions on the two forms of beauty: outer and inner.

At the end of the essay, the author admits that beauty has no exact definition, and people don’t see it the same way. However, he argues that one’s feelings matter regarding discerning beauty. Therefore, no matter what definition you believe in, no one has the right to say you’re wrong if you think and feel beautiful.

“The characteristic held by the objects which are termed “beautiful” must give pleasure to the ones perceiving it. Since pleasure and satisfaction are two very subjective concepts, beauty has one of the vaguest definitions.”

Instead of providing different definitions, Prasanna focuses on how the concept of beauty has changed over time. She further delves into other beauty requirements to show how they evolved. In our current day, she explains that many defy beauty standards, and thinking “everyone is beautiful” is now the new norm.

“…beauty has stolen the eye of today’s youth. Gone are the days where a person’s inner beauty accounted for so much more then his/her outer beauty.”

This short essay discusses how people’s perception of beauty today heavily relies on physical appearance rather than inner beauty. However, Jill believes that beauty is all about acceptance. Sadly, this notion is unpopular because nowadays, something or someone’s beauty depends on how many people agree with its pleasant outer appearance. In the end, she urges people to stop looking at the false beauty seen in magazines and take a deeper look at what true beauty is.

“The modern idea of beauty is taking a sole purpose in everyday life. Achieving beautiful is not surgically fixing yourself to be beautiful, and tattoos may have a strong meaning behind them that makes them beautiful.”

Beauty in modern times has two sides: physical appearance and personality. The author also defines beauty by using famous statements like “a woman’s beauty is seen in her eyes because that’s the door to her heart where love resides” by Audrey Hepburn. The author also tackles the issue of how physical appearance can be the reason for bullying, cosmetic surgeries, and tattoos as a way for people to express their feelings.

10 Helpful Prompts To Use in Writing Essays About Beauty

If you’re still struggling to know where to start, here are ten exciting and easy prompts for your essay writing:

While defining beauty is not easy, it’s a common essay topic. First, share what you think beauty means. Then, explore and gather ideas and facts about the subject and convince your readers by providing evidence to support your argument.

If you’re unfamiliar with this essay type, see our guide on how to write an argumentative essay .

Beauty doesn’t have to be grand. For this prompt, center your essay on small beautiful things everyone can relate to. They can be tangible such as birds singing or flowers lining the street. They can also be the beauty of life itself. Finally, add why you think these things manifest beauty.

Little girls and boys participating in beauty pageants or modeling contests aren’t unusual. But should it be common? Is it beneficial for a child to participate in these competitions and be exposed to cosmetic products or procedures at a young age? Use this prompt to share your opinion about the issue and list the pros and cons of child beauty pageants.

Essays About Beauty: Beauty and social media

Today, social media is the principal dictator of beauty standards. This prompt lets you discuss the unrealistic beauty and body shape promoted by brands and influencers on social networking sites. Next, explain these unrealistic beauty standards and how they are normalized. Finally, include their effects on children and teens.

Countless beauty products and treatments crowd the market today. What products do you use and why? Do you think these products’ marketing is deceitful? Are they selling the idea of beauty no one can attain without surgeries? Choose popular brands and write down their benefits, issues, and adverse effects on users.

Although many countries accept men wearing makeup, some conservative regions such as Asia still see it as taboo. Explain their rationale on why these regions don’t think men should wear makeup. Then, delve into what makeup do for men. Does it work the same way it does for women? Include products that are made specifically for men.

There’s always something we want to improve regarding our physical appearance. One way to achieve such a goal is through surgeries. However, it’s a dangerous procedure with possible lifetime consequences. List known personalities who were pressured to take surgeries because of society’s idea of beauty but whose lives changed because of failed operations. Then, add your thoughts on having procedures yourself to have a “better” physique.

People like beautiful things. This explains why we are easily fascinated by exquisite artworks. But where do these aspirations come from? What is beauty’s role, and how important is it in a person’s life? Answer these questions in your essay for an engaging piece of writing.

Beauty has many definitions but has two major types. Discuss what is outer and inner beauty and give examples. Tell the reader which of these two types people today prefer to achieve and why. Research data and use opinions to back up your points for an interesting essay.

Many literary pieces and movies are about beauty. Pick one that made an impression on you and tell your readers why. One of the most popular books centered around beauty is Dave Hickey’s The Invisible Dragon , first published in 1993. What does the author want to prove and point out in writing this book, and what did you learn? Are the ideas in the book still relevant to today’s beauty standards? Answer these questions in your next essay for an exiting and engaging piece of writing.

Drew Barrymore’s daughter surprised her by trying on her wedding dress: ‘So beautiful’

Drew Barrymore’s kids are already raiding her closet.

On Monday’s episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show,” the talk show host revealed that her eldest daughter, Olive, 11, recently surprised her with a trip down memory lane, trying on Barrymore’s wedding dress from when she wed ex-husband Will Kopelman in 2012.

“The other night I came home and I was told that Olive has a surprise for me,” Barrymore, 49, told the audience. “And so, I came in the room and she was standing there in my wedding dress.”

While it could have easily been a tough moment for the “Charlie’s Angels” actress, who finalized her divorce from Kopelman in 2016, her first reaction was a sweet one rather than shock.

“I looked at her and I was like, ‘Oh my God, you look so beautiful.'”

Seeing her wedding day look worn by her child was extra special as the star was pregnant with Olive when she walked down the aisle.

“I go, ‘You know, that’s actually technically the second time you wore that dress because you were six months in my belly when I wore it. And I’m saving it for you and your sister.’”

Kopelman and Barrymore also share another daughter together, Frankie, 9. While former couple remain on good terms, the star has been open about how hard the breakup was on her.

“I really did not take divorce well,” she told Willie Geist while appearing on “Sunday Today” in 2020. “I took it really hard. Even now, I’m just like, oh, it’s such a painful thing.”

In 2023, when speaking to the Los Angeles Times, Barrymore also spoke about her post-divorce drinking , saying that at one point, it got so bad that her therapist quit.

“He just said, ‘I can’t do this anymore,'” she told the publication. “It was really about my drinking. I said, ‘I get it. I’ve never respected you more. You see I’m not getting better. And I hope, one day, that I can earn your trust back.'”

Barrymore has also opened up about being a mom to her two girls, and earlier this year, revealed that sometimes her kids use her past against her when arguing about what they’re allowed to wear.

“My daughter wants to wear a crop top,” she said when speaking to Christina Aguilera, who was appearing as a guest on the show. “I’ll say, ‘No,’ and she’ll go, ‘You were on the cover of Playboy.’”

Cancún, Cabo or Puerto Vallarta: Which Mexico resort is best for you?

A comparison of the country’s most popular beach towns.

No other country welcomes more American tourists than Mexico . Vacationers go for sun-soaked beaches, warmer temperatures and low costs that feel far away from the cold reality of everyday life. More than 12 million American tourists took a flight into Mexico last year, according to statistics from the country’s secretary of tourism.

The vast majority head for one of three beach zones: Cancún, Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta, which represented three of the top four airports for international tourist arrivals last year, including Mexico City.

While you can’t go wrong with any of these three resort areas — they’re famous for a reason — there are noticeable nuances that can tip the scales when you’re picking one over the others. Over the past 10 years, I’ve visited all three on several occasions: Cancún half a dozen times, Vallarta twice, and, most recently Los Cabos. In terms of visitor appeal and natural beauty, they rival some of the world’s most remarkable and serene beaches.

We asked the travel platform Hopper to pull average spring break prices — covering March, April and May — to show how the costs break down. Here’s the case for each destination, depending on your budget and travel style.

Cancún: All-inclusives, nightclubs, beautiful beaches

Located on the edge of the Caribbean Sea, Cancún is the most popular of the three Mexican getaways by a sizable margin. It is also the most “touristy” in terms of spoken English, Americanized cuisine and the volume of resorts and daily flights from North America and Europe.

In my experience, it’s been the most expensive of the resort hubs in this comparison, although Hopper’s data shows it has the lowest average “good deal” airfare this spring ($330), and the average nightly hotel rate is higher in Los Cabos. In Cancún, you’ll get a lot in return for your money: tranquil, teal and warm waters and white sandy beaches (when the seaweed isn’t bad). There is also the most nightlife and the best snorkeling and scuba diving. The Cancún area and surrounding Mayan Riviera are full of all-inclusive resorts with options ranging from adults-only to kid-friendly.

Cancún is only a couple hours drive ( and now train ) from world-class Mayan ruins such as Chichen Itza and Tulum. There’s also swimmable, flooded sinkholes called cenotes that are a wonder on their own.

Good deal airfare: $330

Average nightly hotel rate: $251

Best for: Clubgoers, families, adventure seekers, history buffs

Los Cabos: Desert romance, deep-sea fishing, wedding backdrops

The area we call “Cabo” is actually two beach towns in one, hence its other nickname, “Los Cabos.”

Separated by 20 miles and on opposite sides of the tip of Baja California, San Jose del Cabo (where the airport is) is the older town located on the Gulf of California. Just around the corner lies Cabo San Lucas, the newer and fast-growing town at the confluence of the Pacific and the gulf.

To get an idea of Cabo’s romantic scenery, imagine if Arizona, Southern California and the Mediterranean had a baby. Dramatic deserts, rugged coastline, deep blue ocean and a famous sea arch (a.k.a. “El Arco”) are flanked by endemic elephant trees, desert sand , and gorgeous cactuses.

As the second-most popular beach retreat on this list, Cabo has an abundance of wildlife and biggest beaches, as well as high-end resorts, spas, golf courses and restaurants.

Travel adviser Sebastian Garrido recommends deep-sea fishing — or just enjoying the products of Pacific waters. Cabo blends coastal Mexican cuisine with resort fare, catering to both locals and tourists alike.

“You can find some of the best seafood around the world down here,” he said.

In my experience, swimming on the Pacific is often forbidden by lifeguards, given the dangerous undertow. But the gulf side is tranquil and family friendly.

A popular place for weddings, Cabo is probably the most dreamy landscape of the three destinations.

Good deal airfare: $447

Average nightly hotel rate: $475

Best for: Pacific views, sport fishing, weddings, culture that caters to locals and tourists, sunsets and scenery.

Puerto Vallarta: Fewer Americans, sleepy beaches, birria tacos

Nestled down the Pacific coast in Jalisco state, Puerto Vallarta is a classic, cozy beach town. It is surrounded by mountains and tropical jungles and often caters more to Mexican tourists than Americans.

In terms of culture, cuisine, number of restaurants, boardwalk shopping, cobblestone streets, and affordability, Vallarta is the most “Mexican” of the bunch, which is endearing.

Vallarta’s narrower beaches are admittedly more confined than Cancun’s or Cabo’s . But they’re still beautiful. Among the Pacific views, you can spot humpback whale breaches early in the year. While there are dozens of large luxury resorts and all-inclusives here, you’ll also find a lot of small hotels that are locally owned and operated .
