How to Make A Sploof

Lewis hill  .

Think of it as a silencer.

Do you ever worry about the smell when you smoke weed? Marijuana’s unique aroma can be very potent, and tends to linger in the air. For the Weedist trying to be discrete, this can be a problem. However, there are ways to drastically reduce the smell. One of these ways is to use a sploof .

What is a sploof? A sploof is like a filter. When you smoke, you blow the smoke out of your lungs and through the sploof, which will neutralize most of the smell . A sploof can be made out of many different things, but here I’ll show you one quick and easy way.

Things you’ll need :

-The cardboard tube from a paper towel or toilet paper roll. -Dryer sheets OR toilet paper with deodorant/soap rubbed on -Rubber band

How to assemble:

Bunch up the dryer sheet and stick it in the tube at one end. Take another dryer sheet and wrap it around that same end, and use the rubber band to secure it. If you don’t have dryer sheets, you can use toilet paper with deodorant or soap rubbed on.

If you don’t have a rubber band to secure the dryer sheet/toilet paper it will be less effective. Body spray, soap, or anything smelly on the toilet paper will work, but dryer sheets work best.

When you smoke, push the sploof up against your mouth, making it airtight, and exhale. You’ll have to use your lungs a little to push the smoke through, but it should go through no problem, unless you crammed 50 dryer sheets in there. I’ve also noticed that the smaller the tube in length, the better, as less smoke will be sitting in the “chamber.”

A sploof can be made out of anything , so be creative and use what resources are available to you. As long as the smoke is passing through the dryer sheet or toilet paper screen, the smell will be reduced.

Also, keep in mind that the sploof won’t mask any smell that comes from the bowl or joint or whatever itself, so watch out for that. Happy toking!

How to Make a Sploof : A Quick and Easy Guide

Marijuana can be enjoyable to smoke, but many people avoid doing so due to smell. There is hardly anything that smells like it, and some strains have a stronger smell than others.

For those who want to enjoy cannabis, hiding the smell of weed is often a serious concern.  There is a solution to this problem.

How to Make a Sploof

Method 1: the dryer sheet sploof, method 2: using activated charcoal.

If you want to smoke weed discreetly and prevent that distinctive marijuana smell from clinging to your body and clothes, you will need a personal smoke filtration system.

This system goes by many names, but the most common is “sploof.” Read on to learn how to smoke weed without that smell, and enjoy smoking whenever you feel like it.

Dryer sheet sploof

An easy way to understand how a sploof works is to think about a car muffler. A muffler dampens the sound coming from your vehicle’s exhaust system.

The sound waves from your car pass through multiple layers of a perforated material. By the time those sound waves exit the exhaust pipe, they are no more than a whimper.

Similarly, the skunky smell of your weed can be toned down, or even nearly eliminated by passing the smoke that you exhale through a filter medium.

Some filter materials, such as activated charcoal, act at a molecular level to completely remove odor. Other materials, such as dryer sheets that have been sprayed with an air freshener, work by masking the weed smell. Here is how to make a sploof using these two filter materials.

Step #1: Assemble Your Materials

plastic bottle for a sploof

First, you will need to gather the different materials for your DIY smoke filter. Many of these materials may already be in your home, while some may require a trip to a convenience store.

First, get a plastic bottle, or a used paper towel or a toilet paper roll. You will need lots of scented dryer sheets, so get these ready too.

Find something to use to bind the ends of the plastic bottle or toilet paper roll. This can be string, tape, or rubber bands. Finally, you will need a knife or scissors to do some cutting during the process.

Step #2: Get the Tube Ready

The details of this step will entirely depend on whether you selected a plastic bottle or any of the other suggested products (toilet paper roll or paper towel roll).

If you elected to use a plastic bottle, use your knife or pair of scissors to cut off the top of the bottle , so it has a wide opening at the top. Next, use your knife or scissors to slice some holes into the bottom .

Make sure the holes are neither too small nor too wide. It is best to start with small holes, then widen them slightly if you test-run your gadget and find that the airflow isn’t as it should be.

If you selected a toilet paper roll, then this stage simply entails removing any leftover bits of toilet paper on the cardboard core. If you picked a paper towel roll, then you don’t have anything to do during this stage. As a side note, a paper towel roll is a better tube to use because it is bigger and longer. This provides more surface to stuff those scented dryer sheets - deodorizing the weed more completely.

Step #3: Pack the Tube with Dryer Paper

This is perhaps the most important step when learning how to make a sploof. Stuff a single sheet of dryer paper at a time into your tube. Pack the dry sheets loosely, but effectively so that there aren’t any large gaps inside.

The purpose of using scented dryer sheets is to take the sting out of the weed smell , so you want the smoke to go through as many of these scented sheets as possible.

If for some reason, you were unable to get scented dryer sheets, you’re not out of luck!  You can use the unscented ones and simply spray them with any air freshener that you have at home. Pack each sheet into the tube immediately after spraying it with the air freshener.

Step #4: Add Some Unscented Dryer Sheets

As you pack the scented dryer sheets, be sure to leave some room for unscented sheets , or some toilet paper if you sprayed the dryer sheets with air freshener. These unscented sheets will safeguard your nose from being hit by the detergent smell of the air freshener the first sheets were doused in. Pack those unscented sheets loosely as well, so the weed smoke can make its way through them.

Step #5: Cover the Top

Now we come to what is pretty much the final step of how to make a sploof. All that’s left to do is take one scented dryer sheet, fold it in half, then place it on the opening of the tube or toilet paper roll.

Secure this sheet on the tube or toilet paper roll using the rubber band or string. Your sploof is now ready to use, but if you want to make it a little more artistic, proceed to the next steps.

Step #6: Trim the Top

To make your sploof more visually appealing, take the pair of scissors and trim off the excess dryer sheet material hanging below the top of the tube. Be careful while cutting the dryer sheets so that you don’t cut off more than necessary.

Check out our precise trimming scissors for your cannabis plant here .

Step #7: Customize the Sploof

If smoking a joint (or any other smokable form of marijuana) gives your mind some creative flair, use that opportunity to stamp your personal touch on the exterior of the sploof.

You can use spray paint, a marker, or any other items that catch your fancy to decorate the tube. Enjoy your handiwork as you take puffs and exhale into the sploof!

activated charcoal

If you want a sploof that is more efficient at getting rid of the weed smell, then you may need to learn how to make an activated charcoal sploof.

Activated carbon is porous, and even a tiny piece (which can fit in the palm of your hand) can have a surface area of thousands of square inches! Follow the steps below to learn how to make a sploof using activated charcoal.

Step #1: Assemble Your Supplies

Since this sploof will perform better than the cardboard and dryer sheet model, it might be worthwhile for you to make a trip to the hardware store and buy ABS or PVC pipe . Anything around 10-inches long will do, so don’t go all out and buy more pipe than you need for this project.

If possible, ask the store attendant to look around for anything that you can use as a lid at one end of the PVC or ABS pipe . It would be great if you can get threaded caps that you can screw onto the ends of the pipe.

Buy some activated charcoal, unscented dryer paper, rubber bands or string, as well as the other items listed for making the first sploof. Once your supplies are all in one place, then you will need half an hour tops to put this sploof together.

Step #2: Drill Holes into One Cap

Get one of the plastic caps that you obtained from the hardware store and drill several tiny holes through it . Once again, those holes should neither be too large nor too small.

The purpose of those holes is to let the sanitized weed smoke come out of the sploof. If you notice that the airflow isn’t sufficient, consider enlarging the holes ever so slightly. Place this prepared cap onto the bottom of the sploof.

Need to grow pot on a budget? Here’s how .

Step #3: Insert a Dryer Sheet

For this step of the how-to-make-a-sploof-process, you’ll need an unscented dryer sheet. Fold it, then insert it at the end of the pipe. That will be the bottom of your sploof.

This should be done before you attach the cap with holes in it. The dryer sheet is optional, but it is a good idea to include it because it prevents the smaller activated charcoal particles from making a mess.

If you noticed that your activated carbon is dusty, don’t put the dryer sheet in the PVC tube/pipe just yet! Instead, screw the cap onto the pipe and pour the activated charcoal into the pipe.

Run some water through the charcoal in the pipe, so all the dust can be washed out through the holes you drilled into the cap.

Let the carbon completely dry , then you can proceed with the step of placing the dryer sheet at the bottom of the PVC pipe. Alternatively, you can use paper towels to dry your activated charcoal to save time if you need to complete this project quickly.

Step #4: Position the Bottom Cap

With the dryer sheet in place, you can now twist the cap onto the bottom of the pipe .

Make sure that it is firm and will not drop off accidentally. If it isn’t firm, use any adhesive tape, such as duct tape, which you then secure the cap at the bottom of the pipe you are using to make the sploof.

Step #5: Put the Activated Carbon Inside

Support the bottom of the pipe with the cap secured and pour the activated carbon into the pipe. Don’t fill it to the brim. If you do, you may accidentally spill this useful material during use.  Instead, fill it to about a three-quarter level and no more.

Step #6: Cover the Activated Carbon

You will need to use a sheet or two of unscented dryer sheets for this step as well. Fold and cut the dryer sheets into pieces that can fit neatly into the pipe that you have just poured the activated carbon into.

Two or three layers should be sufficient since you’re only using it to prevent your mouth from coming into contact with the activated carbon as you exhale into the sploof. There is no harm in the carbon touching your lips, but we want your attention to be focused on enjoying your joint, don’t we?

Step #7: Test Your Sploof

black and white cannabis joint

Now is the time to light up a joint and reward yourself for the work that you have just done. Draw deeply on that joint and exhale into the open end of the sploof. As soon as all the smoke is in, cover the top of the sploof and let the activated carbon do its magic. You’ll be able to see whether the sanitized smoke is flowing out of the sploof at a decent rate.

If the smoke is coming out at a very slow rate, then it might be time to remove the cap at the bottom and widen the holes a little. This will help with the pressure difference between the interior and the exterior of the sploof as it pulls the weed smoke through the activated carbon and out via the holes in the cap.

Step #8: Pimp Your Sploof (Optional)

Now it is time for the final step of learning in this how to make a sploof tutorial! If you are satisfied with how the seven steps listed above have turned out, then you can add your finishing touches.

Remember that you used PVC or ABS pipe for this homemade sploof, so this device will be your companion for a long time to come. You might, therefore, want to personalize it! Decorate the exterior in any way you choose. For example, you could add some stickers or pick up a permanent marker and bring out your artistic side.

Whichever way you use to create your sploof, it’s a super convenient tool to have on hand. When combined with freshly grown marijuana, you can enjoy an odor-less smoke without going out to buy weed.  To get started growing your personal weed plant, purchase the a Pot for Pot Complete Kit . Rolling Paper Alternatives To Take Note of on 420 & Beyond

marijuana toilet paper

Marijuana, weed, pot, dope, cannabis, ganja, mota, Mary Jane or whatever else you want to call it is a drug so recognized and popular that it has its own day. Known as 420, this day has been associated with weed for over five decades.

The love of bud is a mindset and practice. An overwhelming number of Americans support the legalization of marijuana use for both medical and recreational use. According to the Pew Research Center , 91% of adults in the United States say that marijuana should be legal for both purposes. The same study, conducted earlier this month, reported that only 8% of adults thought it should be illegal. Today, 36 states have legalized marijuana for medical purposes and/or recreational use. Still, it remains an illegal drug on a federal level.

Marijuana is all about the green, too—and we don’t just mean from the plant. We’re talking dollars. Last year alone, Forbes reports that the cannabis industry brought in a record $17.5 billion. In New York it was reported that the state’s recent passing of legal marijuana could generate $3.5 billion and create 60 thousand jobs. That makes states with non-marijuana revenue green with envy.

Alright, enough with the numbers. Let’s face it, marijuana has also burned up a lot of screen time in pop culture. Countless movies and characters have embedded themselves in the zeitgeist thanks to weed. Think “Spicoli” from Fast Times at Ridgemont High.  And where would McConaughey be without “alright, alright, alright.” in Dazed and Confused? It has also lit up the speakers of so many songs from artists who were under its influence to singers who sang about it. Hello, “Last Dance with Mary Jane.”

Now, partaking in the herb is another thing. Ideally, a user will have a bong, pipe, or even a vape pen. These are the most common ways to smoke weed. Vapes are a good option if you like your marijuana in wax form. Bongs and pipes are tried and true tools of the trade, as are rolling papers. But what happens when you don’t have any of these? While marijuana delivery is available in some cities like Las Vegas, most people can’t exactly Postmate a bong. Here are some things we’ve learned about what to use around the house to get your smoke on—legally,of course.

Corn Husks Aren’t Just for Tamales

Corn husks, mostly used for tamales, are readily available in most Latine kitchens. In addition to being an all natural alternative for smoking weed, corn husks are considered to be one of the healthiest ways to inhale marijuana. Their fibrous material makes weed rolling tight and smoking slow.

An Apple A Day

As the saying goes, “An apple a day will keep the doctor away.” It turns out it’ll help you out in a pinch, too. This is one of the most popular options as the apple is one of the most common fruits in the world and can be found in most kitchens.  An apple can be used as a makeshift pipe with some foil and some strategic cutting from a knife.

Toilet Paper Rolls

Known as a “steamroller,” this method has been a popular one for a long time, mostly as this is the one item everyone has in their home. Although it’s a little more labor intensive, this method is effective. You’ll need a knife, some foil, some tape, a toothpick, and a pen or pencil to make this work.

Aluminum Cans

It could be argued that using a soda or beer can as a makeshift smoking device was the original form of recycling. A simple folding of the can, some strategic hole poking, and proper weed placement make this a real DIY for the weed smoker. While this isn’t as natural as other alternatives, this is one of the most common.

Don’t have soda or beer in the house? Not to worry, you can still use good ol’ fashioned foil. Aluminum foil has been a long time favorite for its ease of use and disposability. Simply roll into the shape of a cigarette, add your weed, and light.  Easy peasy.

Can You Smoke Weed With Regular Paper? Rolling Paper Alternatives

marijuana toilet paper

Table of Contents

What is rolling paper made from, but can you smoke weed with regular paper, tracing paper, gum wrappers, empty cigarettes, corn husks or rose petals, can you smoke weed with regular paper faq.

It’s late at night, a few friends are visiting – and you realize you’ve run out of rolling papers.

Or maybe you normally use a vaporizer, but it just broke – and you don’t have a pipe or rolling papers on hand.

Or maybe you’ve finally decided to try smoking for the first time, you’ve bought pot – but realize too late that you forgot to buy rolling papers.

What can you do next? Well, you could give up until the next day, or spend several hours decarbing the bud and baking it into brownies. Neither choice is particularly attractive when you’re ready to smoke.

There are several alternatives, and we’ll get to those shortly.

But the one thing you shouldn’t do is grab a piece of regular paper and roll a joint with it.

Let’s find out why.

Just about anyone who’s ever smoked a joint knows that the paper feels different in their hand than a “normal” piece of paper does. Anyone who’s ever rolled a joint certainly realizes that there’s a big difference.

That’s because most of the regular paper is created from wood pulp, which is processed cellulose fiber sourced from trees. By contrast, the papers you’d use to roll a joint usually aren’t made from wood pulp. They’re produced with lightweight natural plant fibers sourced from hemp, flax, rice, or sisal. (Some papers do use a blend of plant fiber and wood pulp.)

Rolling papers are generally much thinner and lighter than a piece of paper from your printer or a notebook. Rolling paper averages between 18 and 28 grams per square meter, while a typical piece of office paper weighs around 80 grams per square meter.

Paper made from plant fiber, particularly hemp, isn’t just easier to roll because it’s thin, but because it’s sturdy at the same time. There’s one other reason that rolling papers are made from plant fiber: it burns much more slowly than regular paper does.

Image of Weed in a Paper Roll

You can certainly try, but it’s extremely unlikely that you’ll enjoy the experience.

We’ve already mentioned the physical drawbacks of trying to roll weed on a piece of paper. We’ve also alluded to a big drawback of trying to smoke something wrapped in regular paper: that type of paper burns very, very fast. Even if it doesn’t actually catch fire, you still might burn your fingers or lips, and it will certainly be gone long before the pot you’ve rolled inside of it. (Chances are that a lot of the weed will fall out as the paper burns past it, too.)

We’re not done yet.

Let’s talk about what regular paper looks like white. That’s because it’s usually “bleached” before it’s sold. Paper made from wood pulp contains a substance called lignin, which is largely responsible for wood’s brown color. Bleaching paper creates the white color we expect to see, and it prevents the paper from turning brown over time. Manufacturers don’t use household bleach for the bleaching process; they use chemicals like hydrogen peroxide and chlorine.

Would you want to inhale those chemicals, or the potentially toxic byproducts they can produce when burned, along with your cannabis smoke? We didn’t think so. There might be ink on the paper as well, and it could add to the toxic chemical mix when it’s ignited.

There’s one more problem you’ll have to deal with. The burning paper doesn’t just smell harsh; it tastes harsh, too. If you’re a cougher when you smoke, get ready to cough a lot more. Also, be prepared for the pot to taste nasty.

You should be convinced by now: you can smoke weed with regular paper, but it’s really not a good idea to try it.

Don’t lose hope, though.

Inexpensive Alternatives To Rolling Papers

Obviously, you can go out and buy a cool pipe, a bong, or a vaporizer to avoid the “I’ve run out of papers!” dilemma. However, that might not fit into your budget, you might simply prefer joints – or you may be reading this article because you just realized you’re out of rolling papers and need to find an immediate alternative.

We can already hear what you’re thinking: “Who in the world has tracing paper lying around their house?”

True. But if you’re artistically inclined, or if you have kids in the house, you may have some sitting in a desk drawer. High-end, thin tracing paper is a decent substitute for rolling paper because it’s about the same thickness and usually doesn’t contain any chemical additives.

That last part is important. It would be easy to grab the parchment paper you have in your kitchen for baking (or decarbing weed) as a substitute for rolling papers, but that would be a mistake. Parchment paper is treated with chemicals like silicone to keep it from burning, and you definitely do not want to inhale those chemical fumes. (Don’t worry about using parchment for decarbing; the chemicals won’t permeate the bud.)

These are almost as satisfactory as tracing paper for rolling joints, and you’re a lot more likely to have them available. If you remove the foil from a chewing gum wrapper, you’re left with a thin piece of paper that hasn’t been chemically treated. It may not be Zig-Zag or OCB but it will do the job, and it may even leave a slightly sweet taste on your lips after a toke.

Who smokes anymore? Lots of people, even if they don’t admit it or do it in public. If you’re with a group of people, there’s an awfully good chance someone has a pack in their pocket or purse. Just empty out the tobacco from a cigarette, fill the tube with weed, and rip off the filter to make it seem more like a joint. Tell the truth – you did this at least once in high school, didn’t you?

Not only do people really smoke weed with corn husks, but it’s also an extremely common method used in Jamaica. And who knows more about ganja than Jamaicans?

Rose petals are a less-obvious choice, but they’ve become a cool alternative for rolling blunts. You have to briefly heat a few fresh petals in the oven, lay them out and “attach” them, fill the blunt with weed and then heat it once more. It works, though, and not only will you notice a slight floral scent as you smoke, you’ll have a party trick to show off.

Q : Is it really bad for you to use regular paper if you’re in a pinch? A : It will definitely be an unpleasant experience. Whether it’s actually bad for you depends on how the paper was bleached to give it its white color. The chlorine that’s often used will release fumes that can cause nausea, vomiting, chest pain, stomach aches, and breathing difficulties – none of which are conducive to a mellow buzz. Sure, the piece of paper you use may not have chlorine in it, but it probably has some other chemicals that could cause similar problems.

Q : What about using wax paper or toilet paper? A : Wax paper can’t withstand high heat. It starts to smoke, which means you’ll be inhaling wax fumes along with weed smoke. Toilet paper will be difficult to maneuver when you’re rolling, and once your joint is lit, the TP will burn up in a flash. If you’re desperate to try smoking weed with toilet paper, do the smart thing and remove the paper from its cardboard roll. You can then make an improvised pipe by placing an aluminum foil “bowl” at one end of the roll, and inhaling from the other.

How to Make a Homemade Marijuana Pipe in 17 Different Ways

Welcome to the innovative world of DIY smoking devices. As a marijuana enthusiast, you've probably been in a situation where you've had some high-quality cannabis flower, but nothing to smoke it with. The good news is, you don't need to worry, as there are plenty of household items at your disposal that you can use to make your own bong or pipe. These easy steps will help you take your smoking experience to the next level. From apple pipes and homemade bongs to ice block pipes and DIY weed pipes, these different methods will ensure a well-made homemade marijuana pipe for an even smoke every time.

Crafting a Fruit and Vegetable Inspired Pipe

The Classic Apple Pipe : An apple is more than just a tasty snack; it's the ideal DIY companion for a quick and easy homemade weed pipe. The sturdy, yet easily carved structure of an apple makes it a beloved choice among DIY enthusiasts. Start by twisting off the stem to form a natural bowl on top of the apple. Carve out a small hole at the top and another at the side of the apple, ensuring they intersect within the apple's core. This creates an airway from the bowl to the mouthpiece. Load your cannabis flower on top, and you've got yourself a great option for a smoking device.

Bell Pepper Bong : Looking to level up your DIY skills? A bell pepper bong could be the way to go. The ripe body of the bell pepper is perfect for holding water, which helps cool the smoke, providing a smoother hit. Cut off the top of the bell pepper and hollow it out. Use a thin tube or a pen pipe, inserted at an angle into the side, as a stem and bowl. Fill the pepper with a bit of water, load the bowl with your cannabis flower, and let the smoking session begin.

Banana Pipe : Nature’s own hand pipe is ripe for the smoking. Carefully hollow out a banana, leaving the peel intact as much as possible. Create a small hole at the top for the bowl and another at the end for the mouthpiece, making sure they intersect. The banana's soft texture makes it easy to work with, and it provides a pleasant aromatic experience as a bonus.

Carrot Chillum : This simple yet effective device adds a touch of creativity to your smoking experience. Take a medium to large-sized carrot and cut off the narrower end. Drill a tiny hole lengthwise through the carrot using a safety pin or a thin skewer. Widen the top of the hole to create a bowl, and your carrot chillum is ready for use.

Cucumber Steamroller : For this DIY pipe, you'll need a medium-sized cucumber. Cut a piece out of the side to form a bowl and carve a long hole from the bowl to the opposite end of the cucumber. The result is a smooth-hitting steamroller that adds a refreshing twist to your smoke session.

Creating a homemade pipe or bong from fruits and vegetables is not just about the convenience and easy accessibility of these items. It's about the joy of creativity, the love for DIY, and the ultimate satisfaction of using a smoking device crafted by your own hands. The best part is that all these homemade smoking devices are completely biodegradable, making them not only an enjoyable choice but an eco-friendly one too. So next time you find yourself without a smoking device, remember your kitchen could hold the solution.

Recycling Household Items into Smoking Tools

The Classic Soda Can Pipe : An empty soda can is a common household item that can be easily converted into a makeshift pipe. The key is to shape the can into a bowl by pressing a dent into one side. Tiny holes are then punctured into the dent to allow the smoke to travel into the can. A larger hole is made on the side of the can to serve as a mouthpiece. Remember to thoroughly clean the can before use to remove any residual soda and sugar.

DIY Water Bottle Bong : Turning a water bottle into a bong is another popular method. It involves creating a hole about halfway up the side of the bottle and inserting a tube diagonally as the bowl and stem. The bottle is partially filled with water, which filters and cools the smoke as you inhale. Remember to use a glass or metal tube to avoid melting plastic.

Toilet Paper Roll Steam Roller : A used toilet paper roll can quickly turn into a simple yet effective steam roller pipe. Cover one end of the roll with a piece of aluminum foil to form a shallow bowl. Poke tiny holes into the foil for the smoke to pass through. The open end of the roll serves as the mouthpiece, while a hole punctured on the side functions as a carb hole.

Plastic Container Gravity Bong : A gravity bong can provide a powerful hit, and making one from a plastic container and a larger bucket or bottle is relatively simple. The smaller container is filled with smoke as it's slowly lifted from the larger water-filled container, and then the smoke is inhaled as the container is pushed back down.

Pen Pipe : Most people have spare pens lying around, and they can serve as a compact and easy-to-make pipe. Disassemble the pen to keep only the hollow tube and the metal tip. The metal tip can be used as a small bowl where the cannabis flower is packed, while the hollow tube serves as the mouthpiece.

While these methods are quick and easy, it's important to remember that safety comes first. Heating plastic and inhaling the resulting fumes can be harmful, so always use materials that can safely withstand heat, like glass or metal, when they come in direct contact with your lighter. If you are ever in doubt, it's better to choose another method or material to ensure your smoking experience is not only enjoyable but safe.

Mastering the Art of DIY Water Bongs

Glass Bottle Water Bong : A glass bottle bong is a step up from the common plastic versions and provides a cleaner, smoother smoking experience. Start by choosing a suitable glass bottle; it should be sturdy and of a reasonable size for handling. With a glass drill bit, carefully drill a small hole about halfway up the side of the bottle. This hole will accommodate a stem (a thin tube or pen pipe), which should be inserted at an angle. Attach a bowl to the end of the stem on the outside of the bottle, and fill the bottle with enough water to submerge the end of the stem. Remember, safety is crucial when working with glass. Always use appropriate tools and safety equipment.

Plastic Water Bottle Bong : This is an easier and less risky project than the glass version. Start with a clean plastic water bottle. Using a lighter, carefully melt a small hole in the side of the bottle, about halfway up. Insert a thin tube or pen pipe into the hole at an angle, securing it with duct tape if necessary to ensure an airtight seal. Attach a bowl to the outer end of the stem. Fill the bottle with water so that the stem inside the bottle is submerged, and you're good to go.

Bucket Bong (Gravity Bong) : A gravity bong, also known as a bucket bong, delivers a strong hit and can be made easily with household items. You'll need a larger container (like a bucket) filled with water and a smaller plastic container (like a bottle with the bottom cut off). A homemade bowl is attached to the cap of the smaller container. The smaller container is placed into the water-filled larger one, the bowl is loaded with cannabis, and the cap is screwed on. As the cannabis is lit, the smaller container is slowly lifted, creating a vacuum that draws the smoke into it. The cap is then removed, and as the smaller container is pushed back into the water, the smoke is forced out and can be inhaled.

Remember, whether you're using a glass bottle or a plastic water bottle, homemade water bongs are all about the smooth and cool smoking experience they provide. While it's a different method than using a traditional pipe or rolled joint, the result is often a stronger, smoother hit that many cannabis enthusiasts enjoy. Just remember, when creating DIY bongs, safety should always be the first concern, especially when dealing with heat and combustible materials.

Fine-tuning Your Smoking Device for a Better Experience

Adding a Carb Hole : One of the most effective ways to improve the function of your homemade pipe or bong is to incorporate a carb hole. This allows you to have better control over the airflow during the smoking process, offering an enhanced experience. The carb hole, also known as a carburetor or simply 'carb', is covered during the initial lighting of the cannabis. As you're ready to inhale the smoke, you release your finger from the carb. This action clears the pipe or bong of smoke, offering a full, clear hit that would not be possible otherwise. This addition can help take your homemade smoking device from basic to a next-level experience.

Using Aluminum Foil for a Bowl Pack : If you're in a situation where you lack a proper bowl for your DIY pipe or bong, don't worry. A piece of aluminum foil can be a quick and easy solution. Mold it to create a small bowl and then puncture tiny holes in it to let the smoke pass through. However, remember that aluminum foil should only be used as a last resort and for temporary bowls, as the heated foil can release harmful fumes. It's always better to opt for safer materials whenever possible.

Implementing a Pipe Screen : A pipe screen can be an incredibly useful addition to your DIY smoking device. These small screens, typically made of metal, are placed over the hole in your pipe or bong's bowl, preventing your cannabis flower from falling into the airway or being accidentally inhaled. This small addition can make for a safer and more enjoyable smoking experience. Pipe screens are widely available at most tobacco shops or online and are an inexpensive way to improve your DIY project.

Introducing a Hemp Wick : The use of a hemp wick can provide a better tasting hit compared to a traditional butane lighter. Hemp wick, made from hemp fibers and coated with beeswax, burns at a lower temperature than a butane lighter, which can result in a smoother and more flavorful hit from your cannabis. To use a hemp wick, you light the wick and then use the flame from the wick to light your cannabis. This can be especially beneficial if you're someone who is particular about the taste of your cannabis.

Fine-tuning your homemade smoking device is not just about function but also about personalization. By making these minor adjustments, you're not just building a tool for smoking; you're crafting a device that matches your preferences and enhances your overall smoking experience. Each addition or adjustment made to your homemade pipe or bong brings it closer to the ideal device for you. The opportunity to experiment and adjust your creation is one of the joys of the DIY process. So, don't hesitate to make these small improvements and to experiment with other ways of refining your homemade smoking device.

Remember, always prioritize safety when crafting and using homemade smoking devices. Avoid materials that may release harmful fumes when heated and always use fire and other tools responsibly. By following these guidelines, you can ensure your DIY project is not only fun but also safe.

So, there you have it, marijuana enthusiasts! Now, you have all the knowledge you need to create your own DIY smoking device. From turning apples and bell peppers into pipes to crafting your own homemade bong from a water bottle, the options are endless and exciting. Remember, it's not only about creating a tool for smoking; it's about the creativity, the culture of DIY, and the shared experience of making something with your own hands. These are the moments that make the journey of a weed smoker truly unique. Now, it’s time to take the high road and transform your smoking session with the best ways to make a homemade marijuana pipe. Remember, safety is paramount in this endeavor, especially when dealing with items that conduct heat. How to Germinate Cannabis Seeds In Toilet Paper

There are many ways to germinate marijuana seeds. Some people use paper towels, some use soil, and others use plastic containers with holes in the bottom. While all of these methods work well, there is another way that produces great results: germinating marijuana seeds in toilet paper. This method is so easy that even a complete novice can do it and still have great success growing plants from their own home-grown seeds.

Toilet paper works best for germinating marijuana because it does not contain chemicals or pesticides that can harm your seedlings. You’ll need some toilet paper rolls, a plastic bag, clean water and a few drops of liquid dish soap.

The Importance of Germination

Germination is the process of sprouting, and it’s a crucial stage in the life cycle of a seed. It’s what makes that little green plant you see above ground happen. Germination is the first step in growth, when your seed breaks its dormancy and starts growing into something new.

The number one thing to keep in mind when germinating marijuana seeds: do not overwater! Most people think that if they water their seeds, then they’ll grow faster—but this isn’t true at all. If you overwater, your seeds will rot and die before they even have time to sprout!

Get Your Seeds

The first thing you’ll need is some good seed stock. The most important aspect of this is getting seeds from a reputable source. If you’re unsure of where your seeds came from or who grew them, then it’s probably best not to use them for germination purposes. If you do decide to go ahead with the project anyway, make sure that at least one plant grows into full maturity before harvesting its crop. This way, if something goes wrong with any future plants that come off those original seeds (for example: they taste like dirt), then at least there will still be some good ones left over which were grown using proper techniques and methods.

Germinate Your Marijuana Seeds

  • Take the seeds and place them in the toilet paper, then wrap up the paper in a ball.
  • Place this ball of toilet paper into your chosen container with holes in it that allows drainage water to flow out (such as a plastic cup), then make sure that you put enough water inside your container so that it does not dry out completely during germination (but not too much either).
  • Put this container into a warm place where there is indirect sunlight coming through like under a desk lamp or something similar, and wait for about 1-2 weeks until you see sprouts popping up from inside of your seed balls!
  • Once they’ve sprouted, transplant these tiny little shoots into soil for growing outside later on down the line!

Once you’ve got your seeds, you need to keep them alive. You’ll want to keep them in a warm place and out of direct sunlight. If you live in a place where there isn’t much variation between night and day, it’s probably best to just leave them in a dark windowsill so they don’t get confused by any light that comes through. Watering is important too! Make sure your toilet paper is moist but not soaking wet at all times, especially when it’s hot outside—you don’t want mold getting into your seeds’ pores before they can sprout!

Finally, make sure that your potting mix remains well-ventilated throughout its life cycle; this will help prevent disease from spreading among your plants as they grow larger and stronger each day.

Germinating marijuana seeds in toilet paper is a simple technique.

The process is simple and easy to do, and it’s inexpensive. It’s also a good way to germinate seeds if you’re growing marijuana plants at home or in a small space.

The steps are:

  • Soak the paper towels or toilet paper until they’re wet but not dripping wet; don’t use sheets that have been exposed to bleach or other chemicals
  • Pour seeds onto one side of the dampened paper towel or toilet paper; plant 3-5 seeds per square inch of surface area, depending on how many plants you want from this batch of seedlings (more space = more plants)
  • Fold up the sitting area over itself into a little tent shape so that it forms an enclosed pocket for each seedling with just enough room for it to grow

Conclusion, How to Germinate Cannabis Seeds In Toilet Paper

If you’re looking to get into growing your own marijuana, germinating seeds is a great place to start. It’s simple and easy, and the materials you need are readily available at any grocery store or drugstore. The best part is that it can be done at home! All you need are some seeds—and maybe an old toilet paper roll or two if they aren’t included in your starter kit—and some water. Plus, this method won’t cost much money (unlike buying expensive equipment).

How to Smoke Weed With No Smell

Article Last Updated on January 6, 2023

The smell of marijuana is one of the main attributes that lures many weed enthusiasts, but unfortunately, it stinks up your home, your clothes, and your hair. No matter how much one likes the smell of ganja, one doesn’t always want to smell of skunk.

Therefore, in this article, we’ll talk about ways of smoking weed that will keep the smell to a minimum, plus we’ll give you some tips on how to cover up any lingering marijuana odors.

Smoking Weed Without Smell – Is It Doable?

Unfortunately, smoking weed is very smelly . The combustion of the cannabis buds produces a mixture of smells, though alluring, but very pungent. Smoking is the smelliest method of consumption and there is simply no way to completely eliminate the lingering odor.

What you can do, instead, is to try to neutralize the odor as much as possible by using a few tricks that are tested and tried by a lot of weed users. Once you find your preferred way of keeping the odor under control, you’ll easily develop it into a habit.

How to Smoke Weed Without Smell

Below we offer you some tips on how to smoke weed without stinking up your place. The most successful approach would be combining a few of these methods and making it a habit.

Keep It Outside, If You Can

This first tip is kinda obvious, but if you live somewhere where you can comfortably go outside to smoke, then it’s best to do that to keep the smell out of your home. This could be the garage, your backyard, your porch, or even your balcony if your neighbors don’t mind it. Smoking cannabis should be an enjoyable activity and being out in the fresh air can make it even more enjoyable.

For Indoors, Proper Ventilation Is a Must

If you can’t really take it outside, then make sure you have proper ventilation at home, even just one open window can make a difference. Having enough airflow will let the cannabis smoke travel out of your home while you toke up, and the remaining odor will be easier to eliminate.

Use an Air Purifier

Air purifiers are great devices for removing allergens and impurities from the air, and they work really well for eliminating the smell of cannabis too. They come in different price ranges, but any air purifier you buy will definitely be effective. If you live in an area where your neighbors or your landlord are bothered by the weed smell, keeping an air purifier in your smoking area will make a big difference, especially if you’re a frequent user.

Use a Sploof

One smoking accessory that’s well-worth adding to your collection is a personal smoke filter, or in other words, a sploof. Sploofs are cylindrical devices about the size of a lemon that neutralize marijuana smoke. Simply, you blow through the sploof upon exhaling and the air that comes out at the other end is not as strong, and with some devices, almost odorless.

Smokebuddy is the most popular sploof out there because it’s quite effective. Sploofy is another popular brand of sploofs. Both use a HEPA (high-efficiency particulate air) filter technology that’s highly efficient in eliminating odors, plus they last about 300 hundred uses – a good few months even if you smoke every day.

DIY a Sploof

Alternatively, you can DIY a sploof, especially in a situation where you need it immediately. It’s a classic DIY filter that has been in the cannabis community for decades. Of course, it’s not as effective as a Smokebuddy, but it’s decent enough and better than using nothing at all and letting the joint stink up the place.

To make your DIY sploof you’ll need a toilet paper roll or a paper towel tube, a bunch of dryer sheets, and a rubber band. You can also use a plastic bottle instead of a toilet paper roll, but you’ll need to cut out the bottom part.

Crumple up a few dryer sheets and stuff them inside the paper roll, but make sure there’s still enough room for the smoke to pass through, you don’t want to trap it there. Then, cover one end of the toilet paper roll with a dryer sheet by spreading it over the opening and use the rubber band to fasten it.

Then, as you smoke, exhale through the open end of the toilet paper roll, the one that’s uncovered. The smoke should come out of the other end with a much less noticeable smell of marijuana. If you use a plastic bottle, exhale through the mouthpiece of the bottle.

Choose a Bowl or Bong Over a Joint

If you can help it, when you want to minimize the smell of weed, skip the joint and go for a bowl or a bong. Joints are fun, but they’re “leaking” smoke from every angle. The cherry keeps burning and burning and leaves a trail of smoke much more pungent than the one coming out of your mouth.

Bowls and bongs are less stinky than joints, and even more so if you don’t pack them too tightly. Plus, if you exhale through a sploof and out the window, you’ll have less odor to eliminate in the room afterward. One-hitters are also excellent for when you want to keep the odor on the low.

Invest In a Vaporizer

Dry herb vaporizers are awesome for odor control. They’re not completely smell-proof, but they’re ions away from other smoking methods. There’s no combustion of the cannabis buds, which not only means more cannabinoids and terpenes for you, but also a lot less skunky odor. If keeping the smell to a minimum is important to you every time you consume weed, then switching to vaping could be a good idea. If you’d rather smoke cannabis concentrates than dry flowers, you can also invest in a good vape pen.

Give It Up and Switch to Edibles

In the end, when you’re in a pickle, choose edibles . Marijuana smoke has a really strong odor that’s difficult to eliminate, so when you won’t have the time or resources to deal with it, opt for edibles as a smoke-free alternative. There is a great variety of edibles, so you won’t have any trouble choosing, and if you just want to keep it simple, then go for weed capsules .

How to Cover Up the Lingering Smell of Cannabis

Weed leaves a lingering smell after you smoke and that is a fact. But, hopefully, using some of the tips we provided, you’ll have less stink to deal with.

Here’s what we’ll say: to get rid of the smell of weed more effectively, first you should neutralize it as much as possible, and then cover up any remaining traces. If your room reeks and you only spray your body spray on top of it, it’ll only make it more stinky.

Therefore, choose air fresheners such as Ozium, Lysol, or Febreze that not only emit a fresh smell, but also neutralize foul odors. Other than that, there are also brands that produce scented candles and air sprays that are specifically made to neutralize the smell of marijuana. You can also use essential oil dispensers – peppermint, lemon, and eucalyptus work especially well because they contain some of the same terpenes as weed, so they’ll blend in nicely.

Finally, since weed smoke easily latches on to fabric , such as carpets, sofas, and bedding, if you toke up at home frequently, they will probably have a noticeable weed smell. Apart from cleaning or washing the smelly items, you can also use some baking soda, which is a great deodorizer.

Just buy one of the large packets and generously sprinkle some over the problematic parts that can be vacuumed. Leave it on for a few hours or overnight and then vacuum it. The smell should be greatly reduced.

The Takeaway

Weed is pretty stinky, and while marijuana users like it, not all of us appreciate it all the time, especially when the smell starts accumulating in our homes. While there is no fool-proof way to smoke weed without any smell, there are ways to reduce the smell to a minimum and cover it up.

The most important thing when smoking weed is to make sure there is always airflow so that the smoke smell doesn’t accumulate. Other than that, sploofs are very effective (even homemade ones), and air purifiers can be a godsend. In all other cases, make sure you exhale through a window, or if all else fails, switch to vaping as a consumption method with minimal smell.
