Unit II: Organization in the Living World

• Cell – Basic Unit of life:  Cell as a basic unit of life; prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, multicellular organisms; cell membrane and cell wall, cell organelles, and cell inclusions; chloroplast, mitochondria, vacuoles, endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi apparatus; nucleus, chromosomes – basic structure, number.
• Tissues, Organs, Organ System, Organism:  Structure and functions of animal and plant tissues (only four types of tissues in animals; Meristematic and Permanent tissues in plants).
• Biological Diversity:  Diversity of plants and animals-basic issues in scientific naming, the basis of classification. Hierarchy of categories/groups, Major groups of plants (salient features) (Bacteria, Thallophyta, Bryophyta, Pteridophyta, Gymnosperms, and Angiosperms). Major groups of animals (salient features) (Nonchordates up to phyla and chordates up to classes).
• Health and Diseases:  Health and its failure. Infectious and Non-infectious diseases, their causes and manifestation. Diseases caused by microbes (Virus, Bacteria, and Protozoans) and their prevention; Principles of treatment and prevention. Pulse Polio programmes.

Unit III: Motion, Force, and Work

• Motion:  Distance and displacement, velocity; uniform and non-uniform motion along a straight line; acceleration, distance-time and velocity-time graphs for uniform motion and uniformly accelerated motion, derivation of equations of motion by graphical method; elementary idea of uniform circular motion.
• Force and Newton’s laws:  Force and Motion, Newton’s Laws of Motion, Action and Reaction forces, Inertia of a body, Inertia, and mass, Momentum, Force and Acceleration. Elementary idea of conservation of Momentum.
• Gravitation:  Gravitation; Universal Law of Gravitation, Force of Gravitation of the earth (gravity), Acceleration due to Gravity; Mass and Weight; Freefall.
• Floatation:  Thrust and Pressure. Archimedes’ Principle; Buoyancy; Elementary idea of Relative Density.
• Work, energy, and power:  Work done by a Force, Energy, power; Kinetic and Potential energy; Law of conservation of energy.
• Sound:  Nature of sound and its propagation in various media, speed of sound, range of hearing in humans; ultrasound; a reflection of sound; echo and SONAR. Structure of the Human Ear (Auditory aspect only).

Unit IV: Our Environment

• Physical resources:  Air, Water, Soil. Air for respiration, for combustion, for moderating temperatures; movements of air and its role in bringing rains across India. Air, water, and soil pollution (brief introduction). Holes in the ozone layer and the probable damages.
• Bio-geo chemical cycles in nature:  Water, Oxygen, Carbon, and Nitrogen.

Unit V: Food Production

Plant and animal breeding and selection for quality improvement and management; Use of fertilizers and manures; Protection from pests and diseases; Organic farming.

CBSE Class 9 Science Syllabus 2022-23 Practical Exams

Below is the list of experiments prescribed by CBSE for Class 9 Science:

1. Preparation of

• a true solution of common salt, sugar, and alum
• a suspension of soil, chalk powder, and fine sand in water
• Transparency
• filtration criterion

2. Preparation of

Using iron filings and sulphur powder and distinguishing between these based on:

• appearance, i.e., homogeneity and heterogeneity
• behaviour towards a magnet
• behaviour towards carbon disulfide as a solvent
• effect of heat

3. Separation of the components of a mixture of sand, common salt, and ammonium chloride (or camphor).

4. Perform the following reactions and classify them as physical or chemical changes:

• Iron with copper sulphate solution in water
• Burning of magnesium ribbon in air
• Zinc with dilute sulphuric acid
• Heating of copper sulphate crystals
• Sodium sulphate with barium chloride in the form of their solutions in water

5. Preparation of stained temporary mounts of 

• human cheek cells & to record observations and draw their labelled diagrams. 

6. Identification of Parenchyma, collenchyma, and Sclerenchyma tissues in plants, striped, smooth, and cardiac muscle fibres and nerve cells in animals, from prepared slides. Draw their labelled diagrams.

7. Determination of the melting point of ice and the boiling point of water.

8. Verification of the Laws of reflection of sound.

9. Determination of the density of solid (denser than water) by using a spring balance and a measuring cylinder.

10. Establishing the relation between the loss in weight of a solid when fully immersed in

• Strongly salty water with the weight of water displaced by it by taking at least two different solids.

11. Determination of the speed of a pulse propagated through a stretched string/slinky (helical spring).

12. Study of the characteristics of Spirogyra, Agaricus, Moss, Fern, Pinus (either with male or female cone) and an Angiospermic plant. Draw and give two identifying features of the groups they belong to.

13. Observe the given pictures/charts/models of earthworm, cockroach, bony fish, and bird. For each organism, draw their picture and record:

• One specific feature of its phylum.
• One adaptive feature regarding its habitat.

14. Verification of the law of conservation of mass in a chemical reaction.

15. Study of the external features of root, stem, leaf, and flower of monocot and dicot plants.

So while practicing such papers it is imperative to create a final exam or board like environment at home and ensure that the Question paper is attempted only in 3 hours and then check whether it was possible to complete the paper in the desired amount of time. Often at first students take longer than expected, and thus they get early warning to practice more and increase the speed.
• Students with anxiety issues need previous year papers more than anyone for overcoming such issues. Since they do not know what questions will be asked in the CBSE board they create panic in their mind due to this fear of the unknown and get scared with the idea that they might not be able to do well in exams. Thus such students need to complete at-least 7-10 Question papers prior to the exams, to gain confidence and get into a better frame of mind.

प्र० 1. निम्न में किसका जड़त्व अधिक है? (a) एक रबर की गेंद एवं उसी आकार का पत्थर। (b) एक साइकिल एवं एक रेलगाड़ी। (c) पाँच रुपये का एक सिक्का एवं एक रुपये का सिक्का। उत्तर- (a) उसी आकार का पत्थर। (b) एक रेलगाड़ी। (c) पाँच रुपये का एक सिक्का। क्योंकि किसी वस्तु का द्रव्यमान उसके जड़त्व की माप है। जितना अधिक द्रव्यमान होगा, जड़त्व भी उतना ही अधिक होगा।

प्र० 3. किसी पेड़ की शाखा को तीव्रता से हिलाने पर कुछ पत्तियाँ झड़ जाती हैं। क्यों? उत्तर- जब पेड़ की शाखा को तीव्रता से हिलाया जाता है तो शाखाएँ गति में आ जाती हैं, परंतु पत्तियाँ विरामावस्था में ही रहती हैं। विराम-जड़त्व के कारण पत्तियाँ अपनी इसी अवस्था में रहना चाहती हैं अर्थात् पत्तियाँ अवस्था परिवर्तन का विरोध करती हैं। जिसके फलस्वरूप पत्तियाँ झड़कर गिर जाती हैं।

प्र० 4. जब कोई गतिशील बस अचानक रुकती है तो आप आगे की ओर झुक जाते हैं और जब विरामावस्था से गतिशील होती है तो पीछे की ओर हो जाते हैं? क्यों? उत्तर- (a) प्रथम स्थिति में – जब गतिशील बस अचानक रुकती है, इस स्थिति में हमारा शरीर भी गतिशील होता है। हमारे शरीर का निचला हिस्सा जो बस के साथ-साथ गतिशील है, तुरंत रुक जाता है। परंतु ऊपरी हिस्सा गति के जड़त्व के कारण अभी भी गतिशील ही रहना चाहता है। अतः बस में सवार व्यक्ति आगे की ओर झुक जाता है।

(b) दूसरी स्थिति में – जब हम ठहरी हुई बस में बैठे हों और अचानक बस चल पड़े तो हमारे शरीर का निचला भाग बस की सतह (Floor) के संपर्क में होने के कारण तुरंत गतिशील हो जाता है, परंतु शरीर का ऊपरी भाग विराम- जड़त्व (Inertia of Rest) के कारण विरामावस्था में ही रहने की चेष्टा करता है जिसके परिणामस्वरूप हम पीछे की ओर हो जाते हैं।

प्र० 2. एक अग्निशमन कर्मचारी को तीव्र गति से बहुतायत मात्रा में पानी फेंकने वाली रबड़ की नली को पकड़ने में कठिनाई क्यों होती है? स्पष्ट करें। उत्तर- क्रिया तथा प्रतिक्रिया सदैव समान और विपरीत दिशा में होती है। पानी की धारा तीव्र वेग से आगे निकलती है तथा पीछे की ओर प्रतिक्रिया बल पाइप (नली) पर लगाता है जिसके कारण नली पीछे खिसकने लगती है और फिसलती है। यही कारण है कि अग्निशमन कर्मचारी को नली पकड़ने में कठिनाई होती है।

पाठ्यपुस्तक से हल प्रश्न (NCERT TEXTBOOK QUESTIONS SOLVED)

प्र० 1. कोई वस्तु शून्य बाह्य असंतुलित बल अनुभव करती है। क्या किसी भी वस्तु के लिए अशून्य वेग (non-zero velocity) से गति करना संभव है? यदि हाँ, तो वस्तु के वेग के परिमाण एवं दिशा पर लगने वाली शर्ते का उल्लेख करें। यदि नहीं, तो कारण स्पष्ट करें। उत्तर- हाँ, किसी वस्तु के लिए अशून्य वेग से गति करना संभव है। ऐसा निम्नलिखित स्थितियों (शर्ते) में संभव हो सकता है (a) जब वस्तु एक सीधी सरल रेखा में एकसमान चाल से चल रही हो। (b) जब चाल के परिमाण (Magnitude of Speed) में कोई परिवर्तन नहीं हो रहा हो। (c) जब गति की दिशा में कोई परिवर्तन नहीं हो। (d) वायु का प्रतिरोध (Air Resistance) अवश्य ही शून्य होना चाहिए। (e) जब वस्तु की सतह तथा जमीन के बीच घर्षण बल का मान शून्य हो।

प्र० 2. जब किसी छड़ी से एक दरी (कार्पेट) को पीटा जाता है, तो धूल के कण बाहर आ जाते हैं। स्पष्ट करें। उत्तर- प्रारंभ में दरी तथा धूल के कण विरामावस्था में होते हैं। जब इन्हें किसी छड़ी से पीटा जाता है तो दरी में कंपन गति होने लगती है, परंतु धूलकण विराम में ही रहना चाहते हैं। अतः विराम-जड़त्व के कारण धूलकण अपनी अवस्था को बनाए रखना चाहते हैं जबकि दरी (कार्पेट) में गति होती है जिसके परिणामस्वरूप धूलकण बाहर निकल जाते हैं।

प्र० 3. बस की छत पर रखे सामान को रस्सी से क्यों बाँधा जाता है? उत्तर- बस की छत पर रखे सामान को रस्सी से इसलिए बाँधा जाता है ताकि अचानक ब्रेक लगने पर तथा बस के अचानक खुलने की स्थिति में सामान पीछे की ओर नीचे तथा आगे की ओर नीचे न गिर जाए। बस के मुड़ने की स्थिति में भी सामान किनारे से गिर सकता है। ऐसा इसलिए होता है क्योंकि बस की गति में परिवर्तन होने की स्थिति में सामान जड़त्व के कारण अवस्था परिवर्तन का विरोध करता है; जैसे-ब्रेक लगने पर बस रुकती है परंतु सामान गति में ही रहना चाहता है जिससे आगे खिसककर गिर सकता है। इसी प्रकार बस के अचानक खुलने पर बस गति में आ जाती है, परंतु सामान विराम-जड़त्व में ही रहना चाहता है और पीछे खिसककर गिर सकता है।

प्र० 4. किसी बल्लेबाज द्वारा क्रिकेट की गेंद को मारने पर गेंद जमीन पर लुढ़कती है। कुछ दूरी चलने के पश्चात् गेंद रुक जाती है। गेंद रुकने के लिए धीमी होती है, क्योंकि (a) बल्लेबाज ने गेंद को पर्याप्त प्रयास से हिट नहीं किया है। (b) वेग गेंद पर लगाए गए बल के समानुपाती है। (c) गेंद पर गति की दिशा के विपरीत एक बल कार्य कर रहा है। (d) गेंद पर कोई असंतुलित बल कार्यरत नहीं है, अतः गेंद विरामावस्था में आने के लिए प्रयासरत है। (सही विकल्प का चयन करें।) उत्तर- (c) गेंद पर गति की दिशा के विपरीत एक बल कार्य कर रहा है।

प्र० 10. हम एक लकड़ी के बक्से को 200 N बल लगाकर उसे नियत वेग से फ़र्श पर धकेलते हैं। बक्से पर लगने वाला घर्षण बल क्या होगा? उत्तर- चूँकि लकड़ी के बक्से को नियत वेग (Constant velocity) से फ़र्श पर धकेला जाता है। अतः 200 N का बल, घर्षण बल को संतुलित करने में ही लग जाता है अर्थात् इस बल का कोई भी भाग लकड़ी के बक्से में त्वरण उत्पन्न करने में नहीं लगता है। अतः घर्षण बल = आरोपित बल = 200 N

प्र० 12. गति के तृतीय नियम के अनुसार जब हम किसी वस्तु को धक्का देते हैं, तो वस्तु उतने ही बल के साथ हमें भी विपरीत दिशा में धक्का देती है। यदि वह वस्तु एक ट्रक है जो सड़क के किनारे खड़ा है; संभवतः हमारे द्वारा बल आरोपित करने पर भी गतिशील नहीं हो पाएगा। एक विद्यार्थी इसे सही साबित करते हुए कहता है कि दोनों बल विपरीत एवं बराबर हैं जो एक-दूसरे को निरस्त कर देते हैं। इस तर्क पर अपने विचार दें और बताएँ कि ट्रक गतिशील क्यों नहीं हो पाता? उत्तर- प्रश्नानुसार एक विद्यार्थी द्वारा यह साबित किया गया कि दोनों बल विपरीत एवं बराबर हैं जो एक-दूसरे को निरस्त कर देते हैं, बिलकुल गलत है क्योंकि दोनों बल दो भिन्न वस्तुओं पर आरोपित होते हैं इसलिए एक-दूसरे को निरस्त (Cancel) करने का प्रश्न नहीं उठता। वास्तव में ट्रक का द्रव्यमान अत्यधिक होने के कारण इसका जड़त्व बहुत अधिक होता है तथा हमारे द्वारा आरोपित बल का मान कम होने के कारण यह सड़क तथा पहिए के बीच घर्षण बल को खत्म कर पाने में असमर्थ होता है। अतः ट्रक को गतिशील करने के लिए अत्यधिक असंतुलित बल की आवश्यकता होती है।

प्र० 17. अख्तर, किरण और राहुल किसी राजमार्ग पर बहुत तीव्र गति से चलती हुई कार में सवार हैं, अचानक उड़ता हुआ कोई कीड़ा, गाड़ी के सामने के शीशे से आ टकराया और वह शीशे से चिपक गया। अख्तर और किरण इस स्थिति पर विवाद करते हैं। किरण का मानना है कि कीड़े के संवेग परिवर्तन का परिमाण कार के संवेग परिवर्तन के परिमाण की अपेक्षा बहुत अधिक है। (क्योंकि कीड़े के वेग में परिवर्तन का मान कार के वेग में परिवर्तन के मान से बहुत अधिक है।) अख्तर ने कहा कि चूंकि कार का वेग बहुत अधिक था अतः कार ने कीड़े पर बहुत अधिक बल लगाया जिसके कारण कीड़े की मौत हो गई। राहुल ने एक नया तर्क देते हुए कहा कि कार तथा कीड़ा दोनों पर समान बल लगा और दोनों के संवेग में बराबर परिवर्तन हुआ। इन विचारों पर अपनी प्रतिक्रिया दें। उत्तर- (a) किरण का यह मानना कि कीड़े के संवेग परिवर्तन का परिमाण कार के संवेग परिवर्तन के परिमाण की अपेक्षा बहुत अधिक है। यह तर्क गलत है।

(b) अख़्तर का तर्क भी गलत है।

(c) राहुल का तर्क सही है। दोनों पर समान बल लगेगा क्योंकि क्रिया तथा प्रतिक्रिया समान परंतु विपरीत दिशा में क्रियाशील होते हैं। साथ ही, संवेग में परिवर्तन का परिमाण भी समान ही रहता है। प्रारंभिक संवेग (टक्कर के पूर्व) = अंतिम संवेग (टक्कर के बाद) i.e., [m 1 u 1 + m 2 u 2 = m 1 v 1 +m 2 v 2 ] संवेग संरक्षण के नियमानुसार स्पष्टतः दोनों वस्तुओं (कीड़े एवं कार) पर समान बल आरोपित होगा तथा संवेग में परिवर्तन भी समान होगा। कीड़े का द्रव्यमान अत्यधिक कम होने के कारण उसके वेग में बहुत अधिक परिवर्तन होता है जिससे वह शीशे से चिपक जाता है।

(b) हम जानते हैं कि F = ma i.e., F ∝ a या a ∝ F चूँकि त्वरण का मान समय के साथ एकसमान रूप से बढ़ रहा है। अतः वस्तु पर आरोपित बल (लगने वाले बल) का मान भी समय के साथ एकसमान रूप से बढ़ेगा।

प्र० A2. 1200 kg द्रव्यमान की कार को एक समतल सड़क पर दो व्यक्ति समान वेग से धक्का देते हैं। उसी कार को तीन व्यक्तियों द्वारा धक्का देकर 0.2 ms -2  का त्वरण उत्पन्न किया जाता है। कितने बल के साथ प्रत्येक व्यक्ति कार को धकेल पाता है। (मान लें कि सभी व्यक्ति समान पेशीय बल के साथ कार को धक्का देते हैं।) उत्तर- माना कि प्रत्येक व्यक्ति F बल लगाता है। जब कार को दो व्यक्ति धक्का देते हैं तो कार में त्वरण उत्पन्न नहीं होता है अतः F + F = 2 F बल घर्षण बल (f) द्वारा संतुलित हो जाता है जो विपरीत दिशा से लगता है। अतः f = 2F …(1) वह बल जो कार में त्वरण उत्पन्न कर देता है। = 3F – f तीन व्यक्तियों द्वारा बल लगाने पर कार में त्वरण उत्पन्न होता है। i.e., F + F + F = 3 F = 3F -2F [समी० 1 से मान रखने पर] = F अत: F = m x a = 1200 kg x 0.2 ms -2  = 240 N

1. यदि दो वस्तुओं के बीच की दूरी को आधा कर दिया जाए तो उनके बीच गुरुत्वाकर्षण बल किस प्रकार बदलेगा ?

उत्तर- हम जानते है कि दो वस्तुओ के बीच लगने वाला गुरुत्वाकर्षण बल(F)=G Mm r 2

अत: F∝1/r 2

जहा r दूरी को प्रदर्शित करता है|

यदि दूरी को आधा किया जाए तो  r = r/2

F ∝ 1/(r/2) 2

F∝ 1/(r 2 /4)

F ∝ 4/r² 

अत: यदि दो वस्तुओं के बीच की दूरी को आधा कर दिया जाए तो उनके बीच गुरुत्वाकर्षण बल 4 गुना हो जाएगा।

2. सभी वस्तुओं पर लगने वाला गुरुत्वीय बल उनके द्रव्यमान के समानुपाती होता है। फिर भी एक भारी वस्तु हल्की वस्तु के मुकाबले तेज़ी से क्यों नहीं गिरती ? 

उत्तर- हम जानते है की

 g = GM/r 2 

अतः गुरूत्वीय त्वरण मान स्थिर रहता है |यह वस्तु के द्रव्यमान पर निर्भर नहीं करता इसलिए एक भारी वस्तु हलकी वस्तु के मुकाबले तेज़ी से नहीं गिरती।दोनों समान रूप से ही गिरती है|

3. पृथ्वी तथा उसकी सतह पर रखी किसी 1 kg की वस्तु के बीच गुरुत्वीय बल का परिणाम क्या होगा? (पृथ्वी का द्रव्यमान 6x10 24 kg है तथा पृथ्वी की त्रिज्या 6.4× 10 6 mहै ।

उत्तर- पृथ्वी का द्रव्यमान(M)= 6 x 10 24 kg 

पृथ्वी की त्रिज्या(R) = 6.4x 10 6 m

वस्तु का द्रव्यमान(m) = 1kg

सार्वत्रिक नियतांक (G) = 6.67 × 10 -11  Nm 2 /kg 2

हमे ज्ञात हैं कि, F= G(Mxm)/r 2

F = 6.67×10 -11 x (6×10 24 x1)/(6.4×10 6 ) 2  

अत: वस्तु तथा पृथ्वी के बीच लगने वाला गुरुत्वाकर्षण बल= 9.8 N

4. पृथ्वी तथा चंद्रमा एक दूसरे को गुरुत्वीय से आकर्षित करते हैं। क्या पृथ्वी जिस बल से चंद्रमा को आकर्षित करती है वह बल, उस बल से जिससे चंद्रमा पृथ्वी को आकर्षित करता है बड़ा है या छोटा है या बराबर है? बताइए क्यों ?

उत्तर- गुरुत्वाकर्षण का सार्वत्रिक नियम के अनुसार दो  पिंडों के बीच लगने वाला बल समान होता है|इसीलिए पृथ्वी तथा चंद्रमा एक दूसरे को जिस गुरुत्वीय बल से आकर्षित करते हैं वह दोनों बराबर होते है।

5. यदि चंद्रमा पृथ्वी को आकर्षित करता है, तो पृथ्वी चंद्रमा की ओर गति क्यों नहीं करती ?

उत्तर- चुकि a=F/m

इससे  ज्ञात है कि त्वरण वस्तु के  द्रव्यमान के व्युत्क्रमानुपाती होता है। 

चूँकि पृथ्वी का द्रव्यमान चंद्रमा के द्रव्यमान से बहुत अधिक  है इसलिए इस स्थिति में त्वरण लगभग नगण्य है। इसलिए चंद्रमा पृथ्वी को आकर्षित करता है|

6. दो वस्तुओं के बीच लगने वाला गुरुत्वाकर्षण बल क्या होगा, यदि 

(i) एक वस्तु का द्रव्यमान दोगुना कर दिया जाए?

(ii) वस्तुओं के बीच की दूरी दोगुनी कर दी जाए ?

(ii) दोनों वस्तुओं के द्रव्यमान दोगुने कर दिये जाएँ ?

उत्तर- (i) चुकि F=G Mm r 2

यदि एक वस्तु का द्रव्यमान दोगुना कर दिया जाए। 

माना m = 2m 

तब F=G Mx2m r 2

F=2xG Mm r 2

अतः किसी एक वस्तु का द्रव्यमान दोगुना कर दे तो गुरुत्वाकर्षण बल भी दोगुना हो जाएगा।

तब    F=G Mm 2r 2  

 F=1/4G Mxm r 2

अत: इस स्थिति में गुरुत्वाकर्षण एक चौथाई रह जाएगा| 

(iii) m=2m और M=2M

तब  F=G 2Mx2m r 2

 F=4xG Mxm r 2

अतः आकर्षण बल भी चार गुना हो जाएगा।

7. गुरुत्वाकर्षण के सार्वत्रिक नियम के क्या महत्व हैं?

उत्तर- गुरुत्वाकर्षण के सार्वत्रिक नियम के महत्व निम्नलिखित हैं

(i) इस नियम के माध्यम से हम पृथ्वी, सूर्य आदि का द्रव्यमान ज्ञात कर सकते हैं।

(ii) इस नियम का प्रयोग करके ग्रहों और अन्य पिंडो के बीच की दूरी पता लगाई जाती है| 

(iii) इसी बल के कारण पृथ्वी के चारों ओर चंद्रमा की गति होती है। 

(iv) इस नियम से चंद्रमा तथा सूर्य के कारण समुद्र में ज्वार भाटा आता है इसे समझा जाता है|

8. मुक्त पतन का त्वरण क्या है ?

उत्तर- जब वस्तु स्वतंत्र रूप से पृथ्वी की ओर गिरती है तब कहा जाता है कि वस्तुएं मुक्त पतन में है। इस कारण वस्तु मे त्वरण उत्पन्न होता है जिसे गुरुत्वीय त्वरण कहा जाता है। इसका मान 9.8m/s 2 होता है।

9. पृथ्वी तथा किसी वस्तु के बीच गुरुत्वीय बल को हम क्या कहेंगे ? 

उत्तर- पृथ्वी तथा किसी वस्तु के बीच गुरुत्वीय बल को उस वस्तु का भार कहते हैं|

10. एक व्यक्ति A अपने एक मित्र के निर्देश पर ध्रुवों पर कुछ ग्राम सोना खरीदता है। वह इस सोने को विषुवत वृत्त पर अपने मित्र को देता है। क्या उसका मित्र खरीदे हुए सोने के भार से संतुष्ट होगा? यदि नहीं, तो क्यों? (संकेत: ध्रुवों पर g का मान विषुवत वृत्त की अपेक्षा अधिक है।) 

उत्तर- उसका मित्र खरीदे हुए सोने के भार से संतुष्ट नहीं होगा क्योकि सोने का भार पहले की तुलना में कम होगा|ऐसा इसलिए क्योकि ध्रुवों पर गुरुत्वीय त्वरण g का मान अधिक है और विषुवत वृत्त कम जिस कारण ध्रुवों पर किसी वस्तु का भार अधिक होगा और विषुवत वृत्त पर कम होगा|

11. एक कागज़ की शीट, उसी प्रकार की शीट को मरोड़ कर बनाई गई गेंद से धीमी क्यों गिरती है ?

उत्तर- जब वस्तु ऊपर से नीचे गिरती है तो उस पर हवा द्वारा घर्षण बल लगता है|जितना ज्यादा   क्षेत्रफल बढ़ता है वस्तु पर  लगने वाला घर्षण बल अधिक लगता है तथा क्षेत्रफल के कम होने पर बल कम  लगता है। चुकि कागज का क्षेत्रफल गेंद की अपेक्षा ज्यादा होता है|इस कारण कागज की शीट, उसी प्रकार की शीट को मरोड़ कर बनाई गई गेंद से धीमी गिरती है।

12. चंद्रमा की सतह पर गुरुत्वीय बल, पृथ्वी की सतह पर गुरुत्वीय बल की अपेक्षा 1/6 गुणा है। एक 10 kg की वस्तु का चंद्रमा पर तथा पृथ्वी पर न्यूटन में भार क्या होगा?

उत्तर- वस्तु का द्रव्यमान= 10kg

हम जानते हैं कि पृथ्वी पर किसी वस्तु का भार(W)=mg

                                                                            = 10  x 9.8     जहा g गुरुत्वीय त्वरण है|

अत: वस्तु का पृथ्वी पर भार =98N

चंद्रमा की सतह पर गुरुत्वीय बल= ⅙   x  पृथ्वी की सतह पर गुरुत्वीय बल 

                                                     =1/6x98

                                                    =16.3N

अत:दिये गये वस्तु का चन्द्रमा पर भार 16.3 N 

13. एक गेंद ऊर्ध्वाधर दिशा मे ऊपर की ओर 49 m/s के वेग से फेंकी जाती है। परिकलन कीजिए।

(i) अधिकतम ऊँचाई जहाँ तक कि गेंद पहुँचती है। 

(ii) पृथ्वी की सतह पर वापस लौटने में लिया गया कुल समय ।

उत्तर- (i) प्रारंभिक वेग = 49m/s

अधिकतम ऊँचाई पर अंतिम वेग=0

g = -9.8m/s 2            चुकि गेंद विपरीत दिशा में जा रही है

माना कि अधिकतम ऊँचाई = h 

गति का तीसरा समीकरण

v 2 =u 2 + 2gh

0 2 = (49) 2 + 2x (−9.8)xh 

2401 = 2x 9.8h

(ii) माना अधिकतम ऊँचाई तक पहुँचने में लगा समय = t 

गति का पहला समीकरण

v=u +gt 

0 = 49 + (-9.8) × t

49 = 9.8 × t

 t= 5s

अधिकतम ऊँचाई तक पहुँचने में लगा समय=5s

गेंद को वापस पृथ्वी पर पहुँचने में लगने वाला कुल समय 5+5 = 10s

14. 19.6m ऊँची एक मिनार की चोटी से एक पत्थर छोड़ा जाता है। पृथ्वी पर पहुँचने से पहले इसका अंतिम वेग ज्ञात कीजिए।

उत्तर- ऊँचाई(h) = 19.6m

प्रारंभिक वेग(u)=0

   = (0) 2 + 2 × 9.8 x 19.6  (g=9.8m/s 2 )

   = 2 × 9.8× 19.6

v 2 = 19.6 x 19.6

v = √19.6x19.6

v = 19.6m/s

अत: अंतिम वेग= 19.6m/s

15. कोई पत्थर ऊर्ध्वाधर दिशा मे ऊपर की ओर 40 m/s के प्रारंभिक वेग से फेंका गया है। g = 10m/s 2 लेते हुए से पत्थर द्वारा पहुँची अधिकतम ऊँचाई ज्ञात कीजिए नेट विस्थापन तथा पत्थर द्वारा चली गई कुल दूरी कितनी होगी?

उत्तर- प्रारम्भिक वेग(u)= 40m/s

g = -10m/s 2   

अधिकतम ऊंचाई पर अंतिम वेग(v) = 0 

गति का तीसरा समीकरण 

0=40 2 +2x(-10)xh

अधिकतम दूरी =80m 

पत्थर द्वारा चली गई कुल दूरी = 80 + 80=160m

चूँकि पत्थर ऊपर फेंका गया परन्तु वह वापस आ गया।

अतः कुल विस्थापन=0

16. पृथ्वी तथा सूर्य के बीच गुरुत्वाकर्षण बल का परिकलन कीजिए।

दिया है, पृथ्वी का द्रव्यमान 6X10 24 kg तथा सूर्य का द्रव्यमान 2X10 30 kg | दोनों के बीच औसत दूरी 1.5 X 10 11 m है। 

उत्तर- पृथ्वी का द्रव्यमान(M)= 6x10 24 kg

सूर्य का द्रव्यमान(m)= 2 × 10 30 kg

G सार्वत्रिक नियतांक= 6.67×10 11 Nm 2 /kg 2

दोनों के  बीच की औसत दूरी d= 1.5 x 10 11 m.

F = Gx(Mxm)/r²

F = 6.67×10 11 ×(6×10 24 x2x10 30 )/(1.5x10 11 ) 2 

F= 3.57×10 22 N

पृथ्वी तथा सूर्य के बीच गुरुत्वाकर्षण बल=3.57×10 22 N

17. कोई पत्थर 100 m की ऊँची किसी मिनार की चोटी से गिराया गया और उसी समय कोई दूसरा पत्थर 25 m/s के वेग से ऊर्ध्वाधर दिशा में ऊपर की ओर फेंका गया। परिकलन कीजिए कि दोनों पत्थर कब और कहाँ मिलेंगे। 

उत्तर- प्रथम पत्थर का प्रारंभिक वेग(u)=0

दुसरे पत्थर का प्रारंभिक वेग=25m/s

गुरुत्वीय त्वरण=10m/s 2

माना कि दोनों पत्थर t समय पर जमीन से x ऊँचाई पर मिलेंगे।

कुल दूरी=100m

तब दूसरे पत्थर द्वारा चली गई दूरी=X

प्रथम  पत्थर द्वारा तय  दूरी= (100-X) 

गति के दूसरा समीकरण 

 h= ut+ ½gt 2

पहले  पत्थर के लिए 

100- X = 0xt + 1/2 x 10 x t 2

100-X = 5 x t 2 …… 1

दूसरे पत्थर के लिए

X = 25 xt + 1/2x (-10) x t 2          चुकि उर्ध्वाधर ऊपर की ओंर

X= 25t-5t² …...2 

समीकरण (1) और समीकरण (2) को जोड़ने पर,

100-X + X = 25t -5t 2 + 5t 2 

तब X = 25t-5t 2

          =25(4)-5x(4) 2  

           = 100-80

          X = 20m

अत: दोनों पत्थर 20m ऊपर मिलेंगे।

18. ऊध्वाध्र दिशा में ऊपर की ओर फेकी गई एक गेंद 6s पश्चात् फेकने वाले के पास लौट आती है। ज्ञात कीजिए 

(a) यह किस वेग से ऊपर फेंकी गई,

(b) गेंद द्वारा पहुँची गई अधिकतम ऊँचाई तथा

(c) 4s पश्चात् गेंद की स्थिति। 

उत्तर- (a)अंतिम वेग(v)=0

g=10m/s 2 

0 = u +(-9.8) x 3  (विपरीत दिशा के कारण ऋणात्मक चिन्ह )

u=30m/s 

अत: गेंद 30m/s वेग से ऊपर फेंकी गई। 

(b) प्रारम्भिक वेग(u)= 30m/s

अंतिम वेग(v) = 0 

गति का दूसरा समीकरण

h = ut+1/2gt 2

h = 30 ×3 + 1/2 x (-10) x (3) 2

अतः गेंद द्वारा प्राप्त की गई अधिकतम ऊँचाई 45m 

(c) गेंद 4s पश्चात गेंद की स्थिति 1 सेकंड में नीचे की ओर चली गई दूरी

h = 0x1+ 1/2x10 x (1) 2

h =5m 

1 सेकेंड में तय की गई दूरी= 5m

4 सेकेंड में तय की गई दूरी=45-5 = 40 m 

अत: 4 सेकेंड के बाद गेंद जमीन से40m की ऊँचाई पर होगी। 

19. किसी द्रव मे डुबोई गई वस्तु पर उत्प्लावन बल किस दिशा में कार्य करता है? 

उत्तर- किसी द्रव मे डुबोई गई वस्तु पर उत्प्लावन बल हमेशा उल्टी दिशा मे कार्य करता है|अत: बल ऊपर  की ओर कार्य करता है| 

20. पानी के भीतर किसी प्लास्टिक के गुटके को छोड़ने पर यह पानी की सतह पर क्यों आ जाता है?

उत्तर- पानी मे डुबाने पर प्लास्टिक के गुटके पर लगने वाला उत्प्लावन बल लगता है , गुटके के भार से अधिक होता है। जिस कारण  गुटका पानी में डुबाने से पानी की सतह पर आ जाता है।

21.50g के किसी पदार्थ का आयतन 20 cm 3 है। यदि पानी का घनत्व 1gcm -3 हो, तो पदार्थ तैरेगा या डूबेगा? 

उत्तर- पदार्थ का आयतन = 20cm 3

पदार्थ का द्रव्यमान= 50g

चुकि  घनत्व = द्रव्यमान/ आयतन 

घनत्व = 50/20

            =2.5g/cm 3

अतः दिये गये पदार्थ का घनत्व = 2.5g / cm 3

पदार्थ पानी में डूब जाएगा क्योंकि पदार्थ का घनत्व पानी के घनत्व   1gcm -3 से अधिक है।

22. 500g के एक मोहरबंद पैकेट का आयतन 350 cm 3 है। पैकेट 1g cm -3 घनत्व वाले पानी में तैरेगा या डूबेगा? इस पैकेट द्वारा विस्थापित पानी का द्रव्यमान कितना होगा?

उत्तर- मोहरबंद पैकेट का द्रव्यमान= 500g

मोहरबंद पैकेट का आयतन=350 cm 3

पानी का घनत्व =1g/ cm 3

चुकि घनत्व= द्रव्यमान/ आयतन 

घनत्व = 500/350

घनत्व= 1.42g/cm 3

अतः दिये गये मोहरबंद पैकेट का घनत्व 1.42 g/cm 3 है।

चूँकि दिये गये मोहरबंद पैकेट का घनत्व पानी के घनत्व=1g/ cm 3 से अधिक है, इसलिए यह पानी में डूब जायेगा। 

(ii) विस्थापित पानी का आयतन =350 cm 3

घनत्व =विस्थापित पानी का द्रव्यमान/ विस्थापित पानी का आयतन 

1 =विस्थापित पानी का द्रव्यमान /350

विस्थापित पानी का द्रव्यमान=350g
